  1. I hope Lola is found and that is about all I am going to say.
  2. Cybil may have seemed ok to the vet but you know your bird better than anyone else so you may have to get a second opinion if the vet said she was fine but if the vet didn't perform blood tests and such then maybe its time for further investigation for it seems to me she just isn't herself, my opinion of course.
  3. I have seen it before but its one of them things you don't mind watching again as it is so unbelieveable it would do that to a stranger.
  4. Hello Shahrzad25 and welcome to our family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Asal. Why don't you tell us more about yourself and Asal, like how old is she, how long have you had her, do you have any other birds or parrots and is she a dna'd female? You have come to the right place to learn more about the greys and we have many threads you should read thru for lots of useful information, we have a wealth of knowledge here both in our posts and our members and do ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. She is a beautiful grey, thanks for including pictures in your first post.
  5. Hello Chris, Dave has given you some excellent advice as he is our resident expert when it comes to greys but do not get unweaned babies for that is best left to those who know what they are doing and besides if you live in England it is illegal to sell unweaned birds. I am sorry to hear you have had less than happy experiences with greys before but they say the third time is the charm so hopefully it will work out for you. Dave I think Chris meant "should they be out of the same nest as in siblings"
  6. Oh wow, handfeed two baby greys and you are getting called on to handfeed other birds but thanks for helping out and with Lisa's help you should do fine as she is handfeeding cockatiels right now herself.
  7. That is a nice little table stand and your grey looks greyt on it, the desk looks great now too but it soon won't! Thanks for sharing it with us.
  8. Those two look good together, it shows how Cocoa really loves your daughter and vice versa, thanks for sharing the pics with us, Cocoa looks to be in fine form, not a feather out of place.
  9. Oh I love that hot pepper bit and it just might do the trick for you Bonnie.
  10. We are slaves and they do not appreciate what we do for them every day, we get no thanks but hey thats a great idea to put them into a birdie bread or something like that, at least it will be used.
  11. Josey does that too whenever one of us gets a cold, you would think she was really sneezing, coughing and hacking.
  12. Hello Chook and welcome to our family, so glad you found us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Bubu, I love that name. Dave has given you some excellent advice as always but you may be able to find out more if you can locate the former owner of Bubu. Please take a look around the forum, look thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. Would love to see some pictures of Bubu if you have any you would share with us.
  13. I can hardly wait Bonnie, go ahead, make my day!!
  14. Best darn sermon I have heard in a long time, thanks.

"For the Love of Greys" by Bobbi Brinker was the first book I bought on african greys when I decided to get one and I highly recommend it.

  18. Hello Kim and welcome to our family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Babalu, you know I haven't heard that word since I love Lucy went off the air, thats the word Ricki was always using in the show. I'm so glad to hear you opened your heart to a rescue for there are so many in need of good homes and Tattletale certainly has a wonderful home now and he is very handsome too, maybe a camera ham at that. You will learn lots here with all the threads we have on various subjects conerning all aspects of grey ownership so do take a stroll thru them for lots of useful information and do ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. Thanks for including pictures of Tattletale in your intro post.
  19. I don't have a dog or cat inside the house any longer and sometimes it is tempting to get another one so they could help clean up the flung and dropped food but that is one game it will be hard to break him of, it is too much fun tossing that pellet or piece of food to watch the dog come and clean it up lickety split.
  20. Hello Featherhead and welcome to our family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Tattletale, what a cute name for a grey and I bet he lives up to his name too. He is a handsome fella and I dearly love the first picture of him in his flight suit, he is standing there all proper and posing for the camera, I bet he is a lot of fun to have around and great company. When you have the time do browse thru our many threads for lots of useful information and do ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. As you can probably tell a lot of us are against wing clipping, after all a bird was meant to fly but we do have to be careful of having our fids outside without being either in a cage or on a harness for even a lightly clipped bird can catch a breeze and fly away.
  21. How sad he felt he had no choice but but to kill himself and maybe he took good care of the birds before his death but he should have made sure they had good homes to go to before he took what he thought was the only way out. I do hope the fids find a new forever home.
  22. Well Cocoa was just being the typical teenager and having nothing to do with a baby grey, after all that is beneath her but I can understand her panic when she got close to the macaw but evidently that little tiel has brass.
  23. Jackson loved his grits huh, well he is a true southern gentleman, sounds like a good breakfast was had by both of you.
  24. You are doing such a good job with Jackson and I knew he was doing just fine from the pics of him you put on fb, he is a handsome fella and please do keep us updated on him.
  25. Oh man if it is a cricket then good luck finding it for I have had the misfortune to have one in my bedroom and when you get up to look for it goes silent then the minute you climb back into bed it goes off again. This used to be a more common occurance when my daughter was still home and she had a tarantula and fed it crickets and one would get out of the enclosure before the spider had a chance to eat it and of course it would find its way to my bedroom, if I am asleep when it starts its racket I am ok but if I wake up and hear it then I can't go back to sleep as long as it does its "singing"
