I think it is cool and it provides a change of scenery for Pippa too but then I have never visited a pub but after my visit to England I will let you know if I would have taken my Josey.
I don't know what it is but a call into the vet first thing in the morning will help to set your mind at ease and it may not even warrant a visit, I hope it turns out to be nothing to worry about but please let us know what you find out.
Pippa looks good in her adventure pack but you are right about it being small so therefore it will not be good for any long period of time but just for outings and a trip to the vet it is fine.
BTW, I can't wait to go to some pubs while in the UK.
Dave is right, an avian vet will more than likely know how to deal with a bird that hasn't been handled much and/or aggressive birds and in my opinion he should be seen by an avian vet as a regular vet who deals with all sorts of animals won't have the experience. Something has obviously happened to make a place swell up and be blue and it sounds like some kind of fall or interaction with a toy but he may need medicine and for that he has to be seen by a vet. He doesn't have to be outside the cage to have had an accident falling or by playing rough with one of his toys.
Please let us know what you find out Louise.
Yes it is shocking but these birds need people who know how to handle them and these people are completely ignorant, of course they are more used to dealing with cats and dogs, or they wouldn't be taking them out of the pan and into the fire.
Hello Ray and welcome to our family and you do have quite a variety of animals at your house.
I can imagine that you do have a few stories to tell and please do indulge us when you get the chance.
I too have a cockatiel but mine dropped in on me, I didn't willingly bring it into my home as I found it outside in my wood shed but she is a part of my flock now along with my sun conure and grey but she is a delight to have.
We love pictures here so if you have any of your fids you would share with us we would love to see them.
Hello Brittany and welcome to our family, congrats on getting your grey baby but you are definitely not new to them since you have been around birds all your life.
It is special when you get your very own bird and a grey is extra special and it sounds like you two have started a wonderful relationship and she is beautiful from the pics you shared with us.
She is still way too young to be talking yet but she will be making lots of vocalizations and mimics before she actually talks.
I leave in exactly one month from today and believe me Lyn I am more excited, Julie just has a way of expressing it better in her posts, I can't wait and yes it is a special friendship, one that I hope last for a lifetime.
I have one of these travel carriers and it collapses for easy storage when not in use but I don't know if they would ship to the UK.

Yes Goldenfeast makes a great line of parrot foods that are available on many online stores, I regularly order their products but don't know whether I have ordered that particular one.
Hi Louise, get some of those cement perches and put them where he will have to use them to get to his food and water and they do help to keep the nails trimmed.
I see this is you first post, why not introduce yourself in the welcome room and tell us more about you and your grey like what is his name?
Hello AfricanGrey_Lexy and welcome to our family, so glad you could join us but why not tell us more about you and your grey. How old is your grey, what is his/her name, how long have you had him/her, do you have any other birds or parrots? Is that your baby grey in your avatar?
We all need a break now and then, I have left Josey and Sunny before for a week at a time and they were just fine and happy to see me when I got back but I did miss them, going away again next month for 9 days so will be missing all 3 then.
