  1. You know I never hear Josey do the beak grinding but Sunny my conure does it late in the evenings when she is snuggled up to my neck.
  2. Alfie should pass the test with flying colors as she is the picture of health but let us know how it turns out and if she is microchipped.
  3. It doesn't look good and he really needs to be seen asap, please let us know what you find out, it looks like it would be painful for him.
  4. What a clever idea Dee and boy did it work to help him feel more secure, now thats using the old noggin, you got it going on there with Kopi.
  5. It is absolutely gorgeous Dee, you have done a wonderful job on it, such a labor of love, yes we all remember how much Juno meant to you and he will always be remembered. I know you hated to give the quilt over to be raffled but hopefully you will see it again, who knows if you get a chance on it you just might get it back. Welcome back to the forum Dee, hope you are going to stick around for a while.
  6. Hey I can relate to that! We don't have many people come to our home, mainly just the kids and other close family members but but Josey usually will stay on her cage top and take in the scene, I don't have to worry about her trying to fly to anyone or get into their food for she is incapable of flight right now but I kind of feel like Birdnut, if you don't like birds then stay out of my home. I do have to be careful of my sun conure when my youngest granddaughter is around as she will fly to her and attack her, she did just last week and bit her on the back before I could get her off of her, she used to do the older girl that way but she is 9 years old now and understands she has to be slower in movement and she allows her to pet her now, sadly she stays in the cage now when she comes to visit.
  7. Welcome Toria, you have two beautiful greys at opposite ends of the age difference, one is just a baby and the other is a mature gentleman, thanks for sharing the pictures of your two greys with us.
  8. You have two beautiful greys and they are wonderful companions for you and each other, I think you will have to tell us more about the "gruesome twosome" as I suspect there are some stories to be told.
  9. Hello Nikki and welcome to our family, so great to hear that you have rehomed two beautiful greys.
  10. Don't forget my kickback too as that is the first book I recommend for new grey owners, I keep my copy handy.
  11. I think I see your "real passion" here and that is funding for your movie project plain and simple, you thought you would come here since we are all a bunch of grey lovers, well that part is true but we put our money where it counts and that is for our birds and to help other birds who have no one to help themselves. I don't give a rat's patootie if my name would appear in the credits for a sizeable donation I would not give to this project as the producers need to come up with the funding elsewhere, who knows if this movie will ever see the light of day. I loved Alex as much as everyone else and would love to see a movie about his life with Dr Pepperberg but it will have to be made without any funding from me.
  12. Thanks Dan and no thanks Dave, if people want to give money to a good cause they can donate money to their local humane society, bird rescues and sanctuaries where the money will be put to good use.
  13. Its about three weeks now until I leave for the UK, I am about to burst with excitement about the trip, Julie is saying be prepared about the rainy weather they have but no amount of rain could dampen my spirit for the highlight of the trip is to see and meet Julie, I don't really care what else we do but we will probably talk nonstop from the time I land until I take flight again for home, gosh I can hardly wait! 3 weeks and counting!
  14. Thats wonderful to hear, he will have that tip honed down to perfection soon.
  15. Thats about all we have here, no places specifically for birds hence I go online for everything.
  16. I have to admit that I purchase most of my foodstuff, cages, toys and whatever else I need from online supply places, I shop for the best price according to shipping costs and buy very little at local pet supply places and I stock up when we have our annual bird fair. You can always google bird supply places in your town or area and see what comes up and also check out the local phonebook yellow pages.
  17. Kathryn, Julie, aka Joolesgreyuk wanted me to convey her condolences on your loss of Vree, she remembers you telling us all about his broken back and how you were caring for him for she was just thinking about it recently and wondered how he was doing, she is so sorry to hear of his passing as were all of us who knew the story.
  18. Maybe admin will delete this thread as it serves no usefulness as I can see, an additional one was deleted earlier today.
  19. Who doesn't love corn on the cob, thanks for sharing that with us Adina.
  20. Kathryn I am so sorry to hear of Vree's passing as I do remember about his accident with his back, please accept my condolences on your loss as you must be devastated but he is flying free over the Rainbow Bridge now in all his glory. I had thought about the two of you lately and wondered how you and Vree were doing for we hadn't heard anything from you in a while but so sorry it was a loss that brought you back but I am grateful you did for we would have wanted to know. Please read this poem in the thread I am providing a link to as it might help to ease your pain, again so sorry. http://www.greyforums.net/forums/showthread.php?95814-RAINBOW-BRIDGE
  21. Yoshi is a real cutie, thanks for sharing the pics with us, you might find you are playing with WOW sometimes even when you aren't.
  22. Thats wonderful news and even though it may not sound like much it really is for this bonding will happen in small steps over a period of time but you are definitely making progress, who knows how close it could become in the coming weeks, months and years.
  23. www.birdsafestore.com is where I order Harrison's pellets also, I usually order two bags at a time so that one stays sealed until the other is used up plus I usually order some other things too so the shipping is not just for the pellets.
  24. I'm so happy to know that Jakob is home with you and I know that it must have taken all your strength to hold your tongue but it was worth it now wasn't it, I can't wait to hear all about it but the most important thing is Jakob is in a better situation now so take care.
  25. Wow Shelia that does look promising and of course he is going to be a little grumpy but soon they will open and he will be feathered once again, could be because of the implant.
