Hello Amartin and welcome to our family.
Yes lots of changes to be made when bringing in a grey or any bird for that matter but it looks like you have it covered. Looking forward to hearing and seeing more.
I happen to believe she will remember you and I hope it works out that she returns to you but you won't know that until you see her and how she is with her new family, I know you will do what is best for Maggie.
Adina, that buddy of yours must be a bird lover to have written that so accurately, brought tears to my eyes while reading it, thanks so much for sharing it with us.
I am so sorry for your loss of Rio and in time it will ease but just focus on the memories of happier times you two had together, one day you will bring another one into your life to love, not to replace Rio but because you have much love to give.
As the others have said you can provide your grey with things to keep the beak in check but if my grey's beak did need some trimming I would take her in to the vet for that for it should be performed by someone knowledgeable.
Rick I am glad that Cosmo got thru that ordeal with no problem and is back home loving it up.
She's not quite oven ready but bare in areas but to me she doesn't look sad as she is still getting over being sprayed and some just do not like that at all, she is beautiful in her own right.
He just thought he would get in a good "peck" at you, warning and not a bite. Josey is not a biter, she will push or grab but not really bear down but I respect her beak.
I love hearing the mockingbirds for you hear lots of other bird sounds in their calls, like listening to lots of different birds.
Hello Kgilbert and welcome to our family.
So sorry about your grey, Rio but these things happen and its not your fault, he was a beautiful grey and I am sure he would want you to have another one and when one comes into your life the hole left by Rio will be healed.
