  1. And I just shared it with my friends on facebook.
  2. Thanks Janet that was awesome!!
  3. That was very enjoyable Crystal and he really lets go when he thinks no one is listening, loved the sneeze at the end, that one brought down the curtain for sure, thanks for sharing that video with us.
  4. Well at least you know now that it is not a birth defect but I am not at all surprised that the vet recommended leaving it as it is, surgery would be risky, more than you want to put him or yourself thru and he will adapt to his turned wrong foot with time, he really doesn't know he is any different from any other bird he has had the break since he was too young to stand. So glad to hear he is healthy and robust and thanks for taking the time to update us on his vet visit, looking forward to hearing lots more about him and maybe some more pics.
  5. You might take one of those dowel rods out of the cage and put in one of those boings in, most birds love those and mine use them a lot especially my grey but otherwise it looks good, I too like to see someone expecting to bring home a new grey baby make sure they have everything right. I bet you are getting more excited by the moment.
  6. Teresa are you doing everything for Diva first, first one fed, first one let out of cage and such, after all she was there first and being a grey to boot she needs to feel she is top bird, that may be one reason she is biting you when she normally wouldn't. I have a cockatiel too and she wants to fly over on my grey's cage, might be because it is bigger than the her cage and my grey will try to bite her toes so when she is out of the cage I have to keep a sharp eye on her. I think you can work something out so that you can keep the tiel.
  7. Yes as strange as it sounds it worked for you and Dorian, who knew he liked it better in the basement better than upstairs in the house but it seems it was the difference that made him pluck his feathers out. He has all the necessities he needs with proper lighting and if that makes him happy then I agree. I am glad you followed your own instinct to move him back to the basement for that seems to be where he feels most comfortable when you are gone. I know life is busy but it would be so nice if you could stop in now and then to update us on Dorian and maybe share a couple of pics of him especially now that he is starting to become fully feathered, you know how we love pictures here, thanks Kevin.
  8. Where there is a will there is a way, it looks like you have found a solution to your problem that works for everyone, so glad to hear that peace shall rein in your household again, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
  9. Looks like you have her trained pretty well to come to you when you ask and she is doing a little bit of a moon walk in that last video, she is adorable and has a great place to play and fly about, thanks for sharing them with us.
  10. That usually is what happens when you worry about something then it turns out beautifully and you find you got yourself into a frazzle over nothing and glad to hear she got top marks from the vet.
  11. That sounds like a viable option and would solve the problem if that is what you could easily do.
  12. Thanks Penny for explaining that, I will check it out further on the net.
  13. I think you will create another problem if you put his cage upstairs with him in it during the day while everyone else is downstairs, he wants to be a part of the "flock" and if denied that he might start making more noise or start plucking from the stress. I don't really know what the solution is but maybe some of the other members have an idea or two for you. Personally I would lean toward getting rid of the husband but then that is my opinion!
  14. I have seen this video before, it is amazing how that little senegal did all those tricks one right after another, makes you wonder how long it took him to get that bird to do that, love watching this.
  15. That is interesting Penny and I hadn't heard about "alkaline water" being better for them or us but the proof is in the tests I guess. Sorry to hear you lost your job but if it is the one I think it is no great loss but hope you find something soon.
  16. Here is a good one http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=5059+5648+22066&pcatid=22066
  17. Janet is right, every grey should have a bell and a heavy one that they can bang around and fight with.
  18. That site is a good one too Kim, here are some sites that are good to order from: www.drsfostersmith.com www.nalanitoys.com www.greyfeathertoys.com www.cheepparrottoysntips.com www.parrotdiseperch.com
  19. I have lots of sites I buy from but I am at work right now and don't have access to my home computer where they are stored in my favorites but will do so as soon as I get home.
  20. I do hope you are giving him some food and water before you leave for work and yes he should have some toys in the cage to play with while you are at work to keep him busy and occupied, I leave a radio on for background noise. He should be playing and amusing himself while he is alone and you should be letting him out of his cage when you get home for some out of cage time to explore and be with his "flock". Why don't you introduce yourself and tell us some more about you and this grey of yours, like what is his name?
  21. Barbara is right, only put food and water in his cage and give him a treat and let him see you put it in his cage when you are ready for him to go back inside. We are still waiting to hear what "sun food" is LOL
  22. It probably is normal for your grey as they are all individuals with some quieter than others, Sully just has a lot to say and he is practicing for the day he masters speech, just enjoy him.
  23. Sounds more and more like a new cage is in order.
  24. Yes by all means let him come out for he needs time out of his cage and in time he will not be so afraid of you but like Barbara said be sure to supervise his out of cage time to make sure he doesn't get into something that will harm him, you are doing great.
