  1. Greys should have several toys at one time in their cage to play with and please take a look in the toys and playstands room for ideas of things you can make from household items but they do love to destroy things and that is why we usually have a multitude of toys to rotate in and out of their cage so they don't get bored.
  2. Glad you said that Robin but I echo exactly! Josey will not allow me to put her on her back either and I am so jealous of other's greys who will, but my sun conure will.
  3. Cody, whether it be he or she is one cute grey and I think I like the last picture the best too, lovely stance, thanks for sharing them with us.
  4. I viewed the pictures on facebook today, such lovely countryside you have there, no wonder you love to go on hikes, thanks for sharing them with us.
  5. I wondered about cranberries but thought they were ok to feed to our birds, will have to get some as they are readily available now, I love those dried cranberries.
  6. Biscotti is all tuned up for Halloween, put him on a kid's shoulder as they go door to door and they can just hold up their bags while he says the magic words, he is such a character and I love the pic of him holding the pumpkin, thanks for sharing that with us.
  7. Dayo is....well...... certainly Dayo is one of a kind but we love him.
  8. Yes it seems all of our banners from them are down at the moment but I hope they do get it fixed soon.
  9. Hello Shawn and welcome to our family, Dave has found you one site but if you do a google you should find more. I am glad to hear you want to get a grey and if it is meant for you to have one then I hope your wish is fulfilled soon.
  10. Yes, it is much too soon to make such a fast judgment and I don't think he is mean, he is just starting to show more of his true personality, remember I told you that you were in the honeymoon phase and he was on his best behavior but now he is starting to unpack his bags and you will see more of the true Timmy. Not to alarm you but it will take time, a lot more than 11 days, you must learn some patience for you will need it in the coming weeks and months. Please just allow him to settle in and don't take his behavior as a setback, definitely don't take it personal, he is a wild animal and his trust has to be earned. Otherwise I think you are doing fine, if he thinks you are too close to him then back off some as you may be trying to rush him for more than he will allow, take your time and see what happens.
  11. Aw bless, Morgan was scolding you for leaving him for a few days, glad to hear he is over it now. The next time you have to leave for a few days or whatever do tell him about your impending trip and that you will return as they do understand some of what we are saying. Some greys do get their feathers ruffled some about our absences and some just take it in stride.
  12. Great scenery, lovely pictures, thanks for sharing them with us.
  13. According to Dave, our resident expert, a grey will not overeat, your grey just eats more than most but if she wants it then give it to her but make sure it is healthy food and a good variety of it, she just has a healthy appetite and enjoys her food, much like a lot of us.
  14. Speak for yourself Jill, even though the thread has had no replies in a while doesn't mean that farting has not been going on as I am a faithfull follower and tonight will be no exception, let the fun go on.
  15. Thanks Barbara for that information, even I have added a banner to my signature.
  16. Mocha looks to be having a wonderful time in his bath, I love to watch birdies taking a bath and getting all wet, thanks for sharing the pictures with us Sanggay.
  17. Hummingbirds are very small and when you hold one it feels like nothing in your hand. A few years ago when we built on an addition to our house the walls and roof were up, the space where the windows and door was going were open waiting for them to be put in and the hummingbirds would zoom thru those openings until the windows were put in then we ended up trapping a couple of them because they thought they could still fly thru. I had to catch them and put them outside and they weigh nothing practically, they are amazing creatures and I feed them every year, they will buzz right by you getting to the feeders and chase each other away. I love them so much that I had a tattoo of one put on my leg.
  18. Come to think of it I don't think I have seen Josey asleep either as I cover her cage at night, and she is 4 years old!
  19. I think you have some dyeing to do!
  20. Don't worry about it, something this great needs repeating.
  21. Let me tell you I wouldn't have made it thru 43 years of marriage without some laughter, it is good to laugh and even at ourselves, what a dull world it would be if we didn't have a sense of humor.
  22. Leaves are falling here too and the colors are not the best this year but haven't noticed whether the birds have noticed the falling leaves yet as the are not right in front of a window but I can imagine they are fascinated by seeing them fall to the ground, maybe you will get lucky and get a pic and share it with us.
  23. Are you sure you have an african grey for if he has what the vasa has in the picture that Dan shared with us then I have my doubts, why don't you try to capture a pic of it next time it happens so we can all see, inquiring minds want to know!
  24. No Jill my bird doesn't have any strange behaviors but you can't blame Harvey for he has a strange owner and thats his problem, just kidding!!
  25. I have never made any birdie bread but I might just have to try it, seems adding some veggies or something with moisture in it would help keep it from being so crumbly.
