It is sad that the need for all these rescue organizations is because so many people jump in and buy on impulse a pretty bird only to find out it needs much more than they are willing to give, so sad for the birds for they are the ones who suffer from our ignorance.

Thats up to you if you want to get another grey and only you know if that is your answer but I agree with Jooles in that if you do get another grey you should get another cage for you never know when that day comes that Murphy will rejoin his flock and he might not take too kindly to another bird in his "home". I think he is either out there fending for himself or someone has taken him in and doesn't know he is a missing bird but please don't give up hope for I think you two will be reunited one day and soon. Keep your chin up Paul.

Hello Carl and welcome to our family and now the wait begins. I am so sorry about your amazon and the neighbors were not very truthful with you as it may very well have been an accumulation of those accidents he had but at least he did have 34 years to enjoy life and that is longer than many last. It is heartbreaking to have to put a loved one down but sometimes it is the kindest thing you can do, at least you know the last two years were his best.

Hello Kim and welcome to our family, I am so pleased you want to adopt a grey in need of a new home instead of getting a baby grey, it usually is a much harder task to gain the trust of a bird that has had at least one other home or many homes. I think Dave's advice to search for rescue facilities as they are all over the place and one may be in a comfortable distance from you that you could make the trip yourself as you really need to meet the grey in person. As you are already finding out you will gain lots of useful information and advice from our many members here, firsthand experience in fact that will help guide you to the one that is for you, as they say "seek and ye shall find", and it helps that you are not in a rush so take your time and I hope your search is fruitful.

Hello Parrot14 and welcome to our family, you have quite an adventure with those three parrots of yours. You may post pictures of Zidane in any thread you like and you can share some pics of your conures in the other birds room if you like, we like to look at all birds.

As expected your pictures and video do not disappoint, Cocoa and the tiel do get along and that is so cute of Cocoa sharing her food with Audi, thanks for sharing them with us.

Sorry to hear about your injury but accidents happen but it was worth it as you were working on something for your new fid who is coming home this weekend, know you are excited about that and looking forward to seeing some pics when you get the chance.

Hello Melissa and welcome to our family and we look forward to hearing more about you and your flock.

Well it may have been said in jest but why not follow thru with their suggestion, after all you are going to need all kinds of stuff just like when people bring home a new human baby, it means just as much.

Dave is right on with his advice as usual and since this is a rehomed grey then it will take time for him to settle down and learn to trust you so give it plenty of time. I also have to agree with him on the corner cage, they may seem roomy but being a corner cage they always have to be in a corner and it seems to me it is more difficult for the grey to be in the center of things if he is in a corner, they usually only need one side of the cage to be against a wall to provide some security, just my opinion.

I Think Brutus is Good for Pancho and Vice Versa

It sounds like there is never a dull moment in the Chezron household. -
Josey my grey has never pooped on me but Sunny and Gypsy have no qualms about doing it on me or anywhere else, Sunny especially loves doing it down my back so I have poop all over the back of my shirt. Josey is pretty predictable about getting ready to drop one and her movements tells me she needs to be elsewhere for the next second or so. Another thing that Josey does after she has had her dinner is she picks up her bowl and dumps it or she just gives it a heave so it lands in the floor spilling the contents all around, this must give her much satisfaction for it is a nightly routine, I guess it is her signal she is finished her dinner but I could do without these antics of hers.

Congrats Jeff for making that decision to add a grey to your life, what took you so long and by the way you do not have to own a grey to be a member of greyforums, you just need to have a love for greys which you have shown you have. Your life will be forever changed when you bring that new baby home and it will be so enriched for the love you two will share for a long long time to come.

Very nice pictures of your flock, they all look healthy and happy, I don't have a favorite except for maybe the one of Tybalt as I love the IRN, thanks for sharing them with us.

Hello Natasha and welcome back to the forum and yes we are doing greyt. My you are busy with three greys and since you have added a new one to your flock why not tell us more about this new one and update us on the rest as we would like to know how things are going with you all, we love to hear stories of what they are doing and how they interact with each other and the flock as a whole.
-
Hello Ponting and welcome to our family. Do you have a grey or any other birds? It is not necessary to have a grey to be a part of this forum just a love for them. Why don't you tell us more about yourself and if you have any birds.
-
So very true Shelia and thanks for sharing it with us here on greyforums.

Thanks so much Morana for giving us this update on Zak, he sounds like a wonderful fella who has brought you much happiness. He is a very handsome grey, thanks for sharing the update and pictures with us.

You certainly scared me with that title but glad to hear you worked out a way so as Sterling does not get tangled again in that chain, he seems like he is fearless and it was good that you were home to get him out of his predictament, can't wait to see what he gets into next, yes you definitely have a boy on your hands.

I know you miss Yoshi very much but she is in the capable hands of Robin who is taking very good care of her and we hear about her from time to time. I think you will have another grey some day when your life settles down for as you have found out once you have had one its hard to go on never having another on in your life, they make such an impact on our lives. I want you to stay safe and come home to your loving family and in the meantime we will be thinking of you Jess.

Looking for some advice for bringing a new 'zon in the house...
judygram replied to JDS5607's topic in The GREY Lounge
All three of my fids do not get along but they tolerate each other which is the best I could hope for, at least they are not going at each other intending to maim or kill, I think that is the best that any of us can hope for. It depends on how they are introduced and then dealt with every day and I can have all three of them out at the same time. Jenn, I say go for it for it seems you really want this bird and good luck, be sure to share pics with us of course. -
On a sexually mature grey like you have no you shouldn't be rubbing him under the wings or anywhere that makes him lower the wings and pant as that will only frustrate him and you don't want to do that. Keep the touching to the head and neck area for if you persist and get him all hot and bothered only to be unsatisfied, well you know what that's like and not something you want for him to experience.

You will never guess what happen to me today

Congrats on getting your new baby grey home with you and she is an adorable sweetie pie from the pic you shared with us. You are doing the right thing in letting her decide when to come out and just take it easy so as not to rush things. I have to agree with Morana that more pictures are needed as we love to admire them at this age. -
Many kudos for adopting this older grey Jess and giving her a new forever home where she will get the love and attention she so deserves. Just give her time to settle into her new home and allow her time to unpack her baggage so her true personality will shine thru. Some pictures would be very welcome.

I would love to see some pictures of Jasper if you would so kindly share some with us.
