1. HI Angie and Welcome. I hope you find the time to visit us more. We could learn a lot from you!!
2. FYI, If I want Talon to step up, and she bites, the whole game plan changes, but if she bites while I am playing with her, or when we are just hanging out together, it is still best to ignore the behavior. We have been doing this for a while now, and her terrible two biting habit seems to be subsiding. But what works for one, won't always work for another. I think biting when they are in their terrible twos is much different than a bird that just bites when it feels like it, thus they need to be handled a little differently. Dan, hopefully Dayo won't go through the terrible twos and you won't need to learn that your entire strategy for handling unwanted behavior goes right out the window!! :pinch:

Post edited by: Talon, at: 2007/10/07 20:05
3. Hi Shelly and welcome. I look forward to hearing more from you.
4. I sometimes say, "No" and then walk away, but no matter when she bites, we always walk away from her and go into another room ignoring her. I find she bites more when she is tired, or if she's in a feisty mood, so at that point we leave her to herself.
5. Check out this link. Our grey is two, and started her terrible twos about 2 months ago. You really have to learn how to read them all over again, then things will calm down a bit. http://www.greyforums.net/forums/training/4227-terrible-twos-.html#18768
6. Hi it's raining where I live right now. It is very much needed. Hope everyone is well tonight!
7. HI and Welcome KatB. I'm very happy you joined, and I know you will get those nasty bugs under control real soon. Remember to triple rinse everything you bleach, and then air it out for quite a while. The fumes are very bad for any bird. Keep us posted. I look forward to seeing some photos and hearing more!
8. Very good contest Lovemygreys. They just keep getting harder all the time!
9. Hi Judo and welcome to the forum. I'm happy you have joined our family. I look forward to hearing more from you.
10. I know of a few people that were scammed out of the full price of a grey in this way. They want you to send a money order, and they will ship the bird. But no bird ever comes, and they are out all their money. You really have to be careful when dealing with any buying over the internet with private parties. Let this be a reminder to everyone.
11. Hi and Welcome! Nice of you to have rescued that poor bird. You'll love it here. Nice name by the way! B)
12. That's a great attitude Laurie! That's exactly how you should think, one today, two tomorrow, and before you know it, you'll feel great! Let us know how it goes, check in at the end of the week!
13. Hello and Welcome! Glad you are here!! :woohoo:
14. Hi Tina, and Welcome! You do sound busy. But I'm glad you decided to join our family. I look forward to hearing more from you.
15. Congratulations Everyone!! :woohoo: Even though I couldn't vote, I'm happy for you all!!

Post edited by: Talon, at: 2007/10/04 00:12
16. Oh, Kristen, Thank you! I will definitely take you up on the nutrition part!!
17. Yay! Judy!!! Start by walking fast, and then increase a short distance to run to, then walk. Every couple of days, go a little bit further.
18. Okay, I'll go first! I want to increase my running routine to 3.2 miles before winter.
19. Hello Everyone! I've noticed many members are very interested in staying fit through exercising, running, walking, weightlifting, etc. And many members are concerned with eating healthy and/or losing weight. I thought it would be fun and helpful to have a support group right here to cheer each other on through those difficult times when you feel like giving up (and we all have those days). We all want to live longer and stay healthy. So it's time to get ourselves exercising and eating healthy. We are always so concerned with keeping our birds healthy eaters and making sure they get their exercise. It's time to spend a little of that energy on ourselves! So whether you are trying to lose 5 lbs, 25, 50lbs, or more. Now is a great time to start. You don't have to post your weight, just set a goal in mind and keep us updated with weekly progress. If you are wanting to start an exercise program, this is the place for other members to support you. So if you are just starting out, or are trying to increase your endurance or strength, let us know how you are doing. And remember, WE ALL HAVE SETBACKS, and that is what this thread is for. We are here for you to cheer you on, and help you through those difficult days when you overate, or was too tired to workout. *PLEASE REMEMBER TO CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE STARTING ANY EXERCISE PROGRAM.*

Post edited by: Talon, at: 2007/10/04 16:04
20. Congratulations Judy! Wow! You are so fast at posting. I'm really glad you are here to help so much! Keep up the great posting, I can't wait for the next 1000! Then it's party time!! :woohoo: :woohoo:
21. Perhaps we could pm you our votes instead. There are other members that are not allowed to vote as well. It really doesn't seem fair that all of us can't vote. We'd love to participate.
22. IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ MODERATORS. I'm not sure if you are aware of this fact, But I can never vote in any of these contests on these polls, because I have the same IP Address as Talonsis, and it doesn't allow both of us to vote. Perhaps, we could do this a different way for any upcoming contests. This would apply to all the members that have a spouse as well and log on from home.
23. Very Nice Pictures! So clear, you can even see the bugs flying around! Nice work Melissa! :cheer:
24. Go Judy & Joe! What a team you two make!! Karma for you both, just because you deserve it!! {Love-0002006C}

Post edited by: Talon, at: 2007/09/30 04:54
