Aww Dan, thanks for rubbing it in. It was 35 here today, a warm spell for us. Well,it is Sat. am, very early, everyone is in bed sleeping, and tomorrow we are expecting MORE snow! I want spring!!!!!! :( :( :(

Everyone here is giving great advice. Never trust any animal with your birds. They do, and always will have that wild instinct surface when they are startled, no matter how well they are trained. Dan is correct, it only takes a second for trouble to strike your bird. :unsure:

Tracy, This is a wonderful Post! The others are right, EVERY grey owner should have this when considering a grey, and as Dan said, "it is a MUST have!" This really touched my heart. I had my kids read it as well. It speaks the truth for every grey out there.

Well, seeing as I work part time out of the house and am able to work at home for the remainder of the time. Talon is out of her cage and interacting with me a lot during the day, so I'm not the best to give advice to you. Those are some really long hours for a grey to spend alone in a cage tho. I do know that many others work full time with their grey, so I'm sure they will chime in and give you better advice. B)

Yes, Talon loves to bath that way as well. It is very normal!!:cheer:

Hi Mavus, and Welcome to our family. Please read as much as you can through out the various threads here. There is a lot of research you should do before purchasing a grey. They require a lot of time, effort, and attention. It is a life long commitment as they live between 40-60 years. Please keep us posted, and feel free to ask as many questions as you like. We have wonderful members who are very helpful and knowledgeable.

Yes, he must see the vet. Cats have a deadly bacteria in their saliva and claws. That's how they subdue their kill so quickly. Please let us know how things go at the vet.
