  1. I always wait and change my clothes after I put my babies back in thier cages.(I have at home clothes and going out clothes) So, one night at a church meeting a lady comes up behind me and says "there is something in your hair" I reach up and pull out a nice size poop! It was completly dry so had been there a while. I just threw it away and said "Oh, just a present from my birds". To which everyone in hearing said yewwwww. LOL
  2. Glad to hear that it went so well. Other than being wrapped in the towel you did nothing that would upset him. And you said he calmed down in the towell so that didn't upset him either. My Grey H A T E S a towel or blanket, but still holds no ill will towards me when I have to use one on him. You are doing great.
  3. Welcome Tara. You are such a good prospect for being a Grey parent. Don't forget there is a TAG too! LOL They can sometimes be a little less temid and nervous than a CAG. This, of course, is not always true, but usually is. Good luck to you and your boyfriend and your future baby.
  4. Welcome. The problems you mentioned are common among Greys. There are so many reasons that it will be difficult to pin it down. Hopefully someone more experienced than me will come along soon and offer some help. My thoughts are - is she bathed enough? did something change in her world at the beginning of these troubles- a new roommate, a move of her cage? Did you change anything you used around the house like cleaning products, dish or laundry dertergent, softener, hair or skin care products? I hope you can pin point something.
  5. I agree, Alfie wants to be a wino! LOL Very cute pictures.
  6. Yep, that is life with a Grey. No telling what they or going to like or when they will like it. I know of no way to get him in and out of the cage - today, with no training, without upsetting him. You do need to work on either step-up or letting him come out on his own. Then, having a way to get him back to the cage. Mine are trained to go back on command. I love it! If Irwin is hand shy, you might use your arm, my Grey prefers it most of the time. Good luck.
  7. I have no knowledge of impinging, but I do know that my TAG came with a horrible clip. Uneven, too many and too short. But he did learn to fly when his next feathers came in. He was over a year, but learned fast after the first couple of flights. I did nothing to help but did incourage him.
  8. Or once OKed you could start a seperate thread in the Photo section.
  9. Wow again. Lady Pym sounds like a very sweet baby. The tugging at your hair may be just an attempt to preen you, as she would another Grey. I know both mine do it at certain times. It is wonderful that she now has a forever home. I understand the loudness of your Jenday. Like a Sun, they are very loud. I got my Sun because of his loud screams and his nippyness.
  10. Welcome Toulouse and Steve. My TAG, Peanut, is about 7 1/2 now and you are in for a very, very fast and interesting ride. They are not like any other parrot. There are similarities, but a Grey is surely a catagory unto itself. Looking forward to getting to know all of you.
  11. Welcome. He sure is a cutie. As smart as he is now, he will increase that with age. LOL
  12. Welcome Lady Pym. My TAG is only 7 1/2, wow 41. We would love stories and pictures. I also have a Conure-Sun though.
  13. I, too, saw this on FB and enjoyed it. Both my Grey and Sun are flyers and both are very good at it! LOL Although, because of Peanuts problem he does get winded very easily. But still can make a couple of rounds around this small house.
  14. LOL Moms always lie about their kids, didn't you know?? Congrats on such a great day.
  15. Welcome. Lily is a doll who deserve to be spoiled! So glad she found a home with you. I assume that is your head she is standing on-too cute. She looks like she is telling the person taking the picture to go away and leave the two of you alone.LOL
  16. Yes, she most likely will need to be covered in that case. I think any pellet they will eat is the right size for them. Since she is still a young bird I would keep it small. I always tell people I have three perpetular toddlers. Mine must be younger than your 4 or 5 year old! LOL They so easily steal your heart.
  17. Hey I asked the original question and felt dumb too. Under your avatar is your join date under that is Posts under that thanks - which have gone up to 5 so I think you have found how to give thanks. LOL Glad I could help. LOL
  18. Hello and welcome. Mix the pellets with a few seeds to start out. She may decides she likes the new 'seeds'. I see you are already doing this. LOL I would go with the smaller pellets, my TAG will not eat the larger ones either. So I buy Roudybush mini for all my guys. Unless there is a draft or a lot of traffic in her sleep area, she may not need to be covered. Mine haven't been since I moved them to a big cage - it is too big for me to cover. She is adorable. Go easy on the peanuts. Push veggies. Fruits are not most Greys favorite foods. Mine like raspberries and blueberries and the juice of watermelon - not the meat, just the juice. LOL
  19. Why sad Carol? You have been thanked 58 times in 29 posts. You haven't given anyone a thanks though.
  20. As long as there is not rust and you can see that it has all it nuts and blots, I see no reason not to buy it. Just make sure you sanitize it throughly. I would scrub it with HOT water, apple cider vinegar, let it set out in the sun and then repeat LOL.
  21. What is it made of? I can not tell. Maybe I have a brain freeze today. LOL
  22. Boy I can see why you are already in love! She certainly does look good. Thanks for the update.
  23. He is too cute. I don't think that is anything but playing. It doesn't seem very ansy at all. I am glad he does so well with the harness.

    Skittles

Hey Nancy. Thanks. I have often thought the same thing. I have never seen another Sun with the bright colors and so much orange/red and blue. Now I see another one in your Sunny. Is yours a boy or girl? Skittles is a boy. I actually think all mine are boys, but the other two have not been DNAed.
