  1. I agree. This is a great forum. Everyone is very supportive. I visit everyday and always get a laugh or good advice. Thanks to all.
  2. Have a safe and enjoyable trip!
  3. That was great! Loved the vegetable recital!
  4. This thing almost clogged the vacuum cleaner ! I have inhaled several of these when Kizzy is on my shoulder preening. They go right up your nose before you can stop yourself from breathing! ACK! I know now where they got the phrase, Bird Brain.
  5. Dan- Kizzy took your advice and slicked back his head feathers.
  6. Thanks for clearing this up. As a new member who has given reputation that was perceived as negative, it was very frustrating getting messages asking me why I gave negative feedback. Glad to know I was not an idiot hitting the wrong button. PS as you can see, my rep power is 0. that means when if I give you reputation, it will not show as green. I am NOT giving you negative feedback.
  7. Great (greyt) idea! I wish we could participate in a monthly toy exchange! Build and send a toy to the next member! That would be too fun, waiting for the mail and a new toy!
  8. Kizzy is 8 months old! He is such a sweet bird. I am prepared for the independence stage which will be coming shortly. I am fortunate to still have him in his "i love mom" stage. Every night, around 8:30 pm, he is ready for shoulder time, scritches and kisses. If I am doing other things (such things are: cleaning cage, preparing his foraging toys for the next morning, cleaning bird poop!), he lands on my head and hangs from my hair and then hops on my shoulder. I bought and assembled a 5 foot tree for him. It was pain to put together! Kizzy had to watch the entire time, excited as could be. He knew it was a toy for him! But it took away from "mom time." At 8:30 , he grabbed the screwdriver, and flew away with it, and tried to hide it from me. Ha!
  9. I am trying to use as much reputation as possible on our members. Somehow, I accidentally hit the wrong button when giving a positive ( IDK how that happened) and I need to know how to fix it. Where do you go to see all of the reputation that you give? How can I fix it?
  10. So cute! I laughed at the comment that said, "When parrots become elderly and Immobile insurance can provide these at little or no cost to them." I pictured them at the Grand Canyon....
  11. Hi Gus and welcome. Looking forward to hearing more stories of Echo and Nesta. We moved to southern Minnesota from Kure Beach, NC and I really miss my home. Love NC! Minnesota is nice if you like winter 6 months of the year. We have been snow free for 20 days now. Tell Nesta and Echo that Cousin Kizzy says hello.
  12. This is one of my favorites! Felix posts cracks me up. I just had to subscribe to Everything Birds' facebook to get my daily dose of Felix. There is one pic of him on his dad's shoulder, looking at their new macaw, and the look on his face is priceless!
  13. Cute! Kizzybird loved it too! He had to fly over to the screen to watch/listen.
  14. I did a search on foam beads to no avail. Are they AG safe for chewing? thanks
  15. This doesn't seem like a forum that supports anyone.
  16. Well, thank you all for helping and providing advice! Kizzy is on my shoulder grinding his beak- he's probably happy to be an only bird at this time too. I too am glad that the little TAG has a new home. I bet the vet was a bit concerned when I called and said, "and he's on a sunflower diet! With no palm oil, no foraging toys, and no UV lighting!" Told the husband to buy an extra lottery ticket- wouldn't it be nice to win big and be able to rescue as many greys as we could.
  17. I notified my avian vet - he knew of someone interested and I believe the little guy found a new home.
  18. AWWW, teared up over this! Our prayers were answered!
  19. Kizzy loves the vacuum and gets excited- does more talking when he hears it. He likes to sit on my shoulder when I vacuum each room. Maybe Escher will learn to enjoy it too!
  20. Kizzy's DNA results came in. Kizzy is a boy! The breeder thought Kizzy was a girl, so all this time I have been saying "Good GIRL" etc. I guess Kizzy won't be able to wear my clothes anymore. LOL
  21. I love reading Gracie stories.
  22. Thank you. We just received 10 inches of snow on 5/2! Today it is 70 so most of the snow is melting. I am wondering if it is safe to take my snow tires off. Sad to have debate that in MAY!
