  1. Right Dan, I've checked her schedule. It's free and clear to keep us updated and fully informed - haahaaa. Now where's those homecoming photos!
  2. This is exciting and I don't even live there.
  3. The problem is, Greycie wasn't supposed to be eating nor prepping the head of broccoli. She will not eat broccoli. Head Chef (aka mommy), turned her back for a few minutes and then hollered for me to get the camera quick. The only other issue is, I know that the brocolli on the floor down there is sure to end up in whatever I'll be eating for dinner tonight. There is no 5-second rule when a parrot has been involved around our house.
  4. Sous Chef: . Now that has been clearly defined - this is the current Sous Chef at Sterling-Ranch:
  5. I'm starting to think a video of their first meeting would be even better. How long is quarantine? I have a vested interest as, one of these days, my 25 year old CAG will hopefully be coming back into the fold and Greycie will have to meet and hopefully accept her.
  6. Peck doesn't know how lucky he is. I can't wait to see pics. You should get pics of their first meeting once quarantine is over to. Those are always fun to look back on.
  7. That's for sure. The only thing that trumps a dictatorial Green Cheeky is a Caique - 10 ft tall and bullet proof. Haahaa
  8. Those green cheeks are special. My daughter stole mine
  9. Does she have any of those stainless toys we keep seeing posted? Seems like a good candidate for a noisy clangy type. She's a cutie! I kept waiting for her to give a good toss off the counter.
  10. Haahaaa....Marco....you go grillll!!!!!
  11. Greycie can attest this to be true. She pulled a heavy glass dish to the edge and made it walk the plank. I only found the pieces. She had to have dragged it close to the edge and somehow worked it the rest of the way by side-to-side pushing I'm guessing.
  12. Would Miss Dayo mind sharing the ingredients in her meal?
  13. It's been a tough winter. Birdy's know best.
  14. Interesting you posted this. We were looking at the hanging gym this morning and figured it was plain PVC. Thought about buying a small piece and hitting it gently with a propane torch and seeing if I can mold it similar. I contacted Dee about getting a couple more but we're just going to copy this one. This computer balanced horse pile mumbo jumbo that you get fed via her website and email is definitely a crock. It's a great product but it's not rocket science. You can definitely see where they've applied the heat and twisted and turned to get it into the config that's delivered. Probably bubba out back with a blow torch.
  15. KimKim, I'd just pull the catcher and attach toys. My little Caique spends most of his time swinging from the hanging parts. I can already tell Greycie will do what any smart bird will do - staying away from the bottom. Another still shot!
  16. Here it is with my two willing test subjects testing it out. Temporarily hung by a string from an air vent just for a video. I love how portable it is. Beats moving a cage around. I was at first put off by how light this thing is. It makes it feel like one bite from Greycie and it's toast. The more I've messed with it though, it's pretty sturdy. There is one toy hanging with the alphabet blocks, that did not come with it. The rest in the video minus the two feather heads came straight out of the box. We like it so much, my wife wants two more. Not sure I can deal with the wait though. We'll see. The lady that you order these from has some real crappy video samples. Before I ordered I asked if there were any better pics/videos. It fell on deaf ears. Hope these are less crappy than hers.
  17. Patience of a saint. Oh and you too BaileysPapa.
  18. I thought the same thing: "how many of these pics you gonna need there boss?" haaahaaa..... He's such a cutie even without his proper feathers. I always love seeing their downy feathers. Makes me wanna squeeze them (and get bit ).
  19. Well, it's only been a few hours since I picked it up, I'm over it. If we really like it, we had intended to order 1 or 2 more. I'll just have to place my order and know that I'll be waiting 2-3 months. Knowing that going in would be a lot easier to handle. What I didn't like was that NOTHING was happening unless I actually emailed to pester her about it. I don't like pestering people (notice I waited a half month to a month between inquiries). So I'm now wondering if I ordered and just shut my trap for 2-3 months, would it take 6 months this time? Haahaa....
  20. Well, it finally arrived. I paid for it on Jan 14th and today is 3/27. So 2.5 months once my order was placed it finally arrived. I'm pretty patient but this was really testing the limits. I got sick and tired of the constant apologies. Repeated apologies in my book are nothing more than someone's excuse to continue to do as they damn well please. Basically here's timeline of how it went down: 1/14 - order placed 1/28 - I inquired about the hanging gym wanting to know a possible delivery date as I had intentions to order another if this one was of good quality etc.. 2/1 - She can't offer a shipping date until the orders are completed and delivered to her. Ok, now I know she's just a damn middleman.. I'm told general wait time is 4-5 weeks. ....I wait another month.... 2/26 - Same line " I normally cannot provide a shipping date until the orders have actually been completed and delivered to me." BUT!....my hanging gym is apparently in it's final stages of completion and set to be delivered to her on Saturday afternoon. Well, hot damn! ....I wait another half month.... 3/12am - "I guess my hanging gym wasn't in the order you were supposed to get half month ago?" 3/12pm - "ARBF just delivered a large batch of orders about 20 minutes ago...your Parrot Play Tree included...." What a coincidence! I have excellent timing I guess. 3/13 - USPS signature confirmation received - finally. ....I wait 9 days expecting a delivery maybe!.... 3/19 - "I see no tracking on USPS with the number provided?!?" - more worthless sorrys - and then some crap about her being in a remote location, parcels aren't picked up until they have enough to warrant shipping... At this point I'm wondering if I've been had. 3/22 - Finally on March 22nd I see the package has actually been shipped - 9 F'ing days after being told it was shipped and receiving shipping confirmation number. I figure I'll hold off on reviewing the actual item because right now I just want to saw it up into pieces and ship it back to her with some llama shit. If you're in for a hanging gym - I DO NOT RECOMMEND ORDERING THROUGH PARROT PLAY WORLD. Supposedly they come from ARBF whatever that is. Maybe cut her useless middleman crap out and order direct?
  21. Good luck to you Shanlung. I always love seeing your posts. Can't wait to see updated photos of Tinkerbell.
  22. I'm of the opinion that a lone Grey kept in a cage is akin to holding something in solitary confinement. I got a Grey at about the same time as my manager at work. His Grey is home alone with a TV for companionship from 8-6pm M-F. He's already having trouble with plucking and behavioral issues. Mine is at home with my wife and a Caique. She (my Grey) wants to fight with the Caique when they are together but when they are apart they contact call and really want to be together. Typical 'siblings'. I really think they do better with a buddy bird, even of different species, if you can't be with them. Don't discount a Caique. They are AMAZING birds. I love my Grey and I love my Caique in very different ways. The Caique is a much better cage bird. Ours is perfectly fine in his cage raging on his toys all day long whereas my Grey will solemnly sit there and wait for her out of cage time. I know this because I have a camera and when my wife is away she will lock them up as I don't trust them together without supervision. You might also look at one of the Poicephalus birds. They are great apartment birds too. Some of the best.
