  1. I'm not sure what you're asking...
  2. We have our very own troll that hangs out, not under a bridge, but on top of the fridge [video=youtube_share;7iHtceilMQ0]
  3. All we ever get is the well-timed *fart*
  4. These little feather puffins are such rowdy players. I'm afraid the same thing is going to happen to Greycie. She came in from the aviary yesterday with a nice red slash just millimeters from her eye. Sure hope Sully's eye heals. Looks like the cantalope(?) is helping to pass the time (cute picture!).
  5. I used to cover as well and it was a real pain the butt. Greycie's cage took two blankets to cover and required clips to hold together. She hated the covers. I finally came up with the great idea to mount a removable dowel rod over both windows and we used some 100% light blocking curtains to create easy to hang and remove night curtains. I'll never go back to the cage covering...
  6. I've had this issue with the website for some time now. It renders the forums completely unusable and I'm getting real tired of it. Really need something done about it. Maybe the website admin can contact the tech support for a solution? Some screenshots that may help - This is what I see when the issue starts to creep up And then the website will start acting up. At this point it's getting hard to use This is the part that really irritates me. These shots show the whole screen has gone completely haywire. Nothing can be done at this point until it clears itself up. This can last anywhere from 1-10 minutes. It's even gone 15 minutes before. I'm pretty sure I got a bad bug from the site. All those google warnings must have been right. I was just looking for trouble when I clicked on here...
  7. We get punished regularly for not following GreycieMae's rules. Rule #1: "No charging phones on my countertop." My wife has lost several charging cables as a result of not following this rule. Rule #2: "Keep my countertops clear!" GreycieMae will immediately drag overboard anything she can manage to get to the edge. I lost my absolute favorite glass drinking cup a couple days ago because I failed to follow this rule. She hates a messy countertop unless it's her food tray or her playthings (which usually end up on the floor too).
  8. Well, he's definitely showing his Grey-tude as only a Grey can. Looking forward to the stories.
  9. Is this 'Teka'? I just spoke with someone today - same exact story. Long time birdy and had since he was just a few months old. Would definitely love to hear more about those 25 years. That's getting up there in experience that most of us don't have. Pics too!
  10. Not sure where you are located, but in our area there are multiple parrot specific facebook groups. I see re-homes a lot - lots of birds. Keep your eyes peeled on something like that and you might just meet your feathered soul mate.
  11. Give her a Chamomile tea bag! You can't take away her private 'tea time'. That would be completely uncivilized.
  12. Gosh what a cutie! Love that baby face.
  13. That could be a blessing. I was telling my co-worker the other day - "there's no way in hell you could pay me enough to be a police officer in todays world". This is the generation of zero-respect.
  14. They do not sleep overnight in the aviary - no way I'd ever take a chance like that. As it is, when they are out during the day our dogs are present to fend off anything that would dare come near, including hawks. When sunset is approaching they get very flighty and fighty in the aviary. They DO NOT like being out there as dark approaches. So we bring them in and have some hang time until bedtime. Once they do establish a bedtime and I know what it is, I do try to adhere to it whether they like it or not. Keeping them on a schedule is easier than letting them set ALL the ground rules - haaahaaa.
  15. I always wondered about this mandatory bed time until we built an aviary. It allowed us to see our birds actually get tired and 'want' to go to bed. Before the aviary and now while we can't use it they do not want to go to bed until late. 8:30-9pm for the littles, they actually will start their bed time grooming shortly before they want to go. GreycieMae just never wants to go so she gets the forced march down the hallway around 9-9:30. During the days when we can use the aviary, they will sometimes go around 7 and get cranky if we don't take them to bed.
  16. Will she let you handle her? Place her on the floor with clear sight of a way back up to her perch. Surely she won't just sit on the floor will she? Do that a few times increasing distance to try and get some movement in her.
  17. Oh the bag of chips. It's just not fair. We use the same thing around here. Nothing lines the troops up like rustling the chip bag. All prior commitments the birdies had are immediately abandoned and we all head for the bird room.
  18. Make him a cup of chamomile tea. Our birds fight over our coffee so we make them some safe stuff.
  19. This thread is filled with ghosts from the past. Only one or two of the posters are still here. Grave digging threads must be fun though. Must have just been googling the net and found something about your story?
  20. What a cutie, you're own little nighttime guardian angel. I wouldn't get much sleep, I'd be trying to coax her under the covers for a good snuggle. Maybe that's why I'm not allowed to keep my Grey in the room?!?
  21. Caiques are a special breed of nutters. Notice GreycieMae was nervously watching from WAY above. Of course anytime the camera comes out Rio just has to get in the frame.
  22. We have posted stake-outs watching the entrance to the kitchen. If someone enters the kitchen and rounds the corner out of sight, you can bet there will be three incoming somebirdys to see what's happening. It's fun to watch because one lands on the faucet over the sink, one on the fridge and Toby usually skids across the countertop while turning a partial circle. Funny birds...
  23. 29F outside? No problem a steamy bathroom can't fix [video=youtube_share;TbpWOx0lgBo]
  24. Sunflower seeds are like crack for our birds. We only feed seed in the afternoon as a limited treat. The rest of the time no access to seed.
  25. Sounds awesome. I wish I could have my Grey in my room.
