  1. Yes, beautiful birds! Thanks for sharing
  2. Timber whistles and clicks when he is the center of attention and wants to be interactive, so that sounds like totally normal, engaged behavior to me. When I'm coming into the room from upstairs, like first thing in the morning, I always whistle and talk so Timber knows it is me. This may not be necessary and he may know my footfalls by now, but it has became a habit from when I didn't want to startle him.
  3. Hello and welcome to you and your new companion. What is his name? Post some pics when you get a chance, we love them. It sounds like your bird is coming right along. It took my 3 months to get my rehomed grey comfortable with stepping up, so you are making good progress. Like Dan said, let him set the pace in your relationship. It takes time to build trust
  4. I don't have any experience with this Danny. I'm sure someone will come along to help!
  5. Happy birthday Greycie! What a fun video!
  6. It will be a blessing to be able to call if you have any questions or forgot to ask anything after you bring Coco home. Excited for you
  7. I did enjoy! Thanks for posting Jeff
  8. Haaaaa... I'll bet "panic in the shower" wasn't funny while it was happening! I can just see Timber chiseling footholds up my bare legs... That's the kind of thing you can have a good laugh about when it is over though Timber won't do tofu either. I can't say that I blame him! He is always game for a bit of chicken, pork chop, roast beef, or just about any meat I've tried though.
  9. I don't know Nancy, watch Sterling's video. Looks like Greycie likes it! I don't know about Timber, since I haven't gotten up the nerve to try.
  10. I know! I cried for 15 minutes. My boss thought I was having some type of medical crisis
  11. OK, this isn't a joke but these are funny. If you aren't easily offended and have ever been the victim of misdirected autocorrect... check these out. I was in tears. I'm betting some of these were deliberate for comedy value, but they are funny! http://funkypickens.com/25-funny-auto-correct-fails/ I'm going to get some pringles...
  12. I saw the video on the other thread, forgot about this one! Greycie must be so much fun. You'll probably get a lot of "bird envy" from those of us who can't have that kind of contact with our fids!
  13. What neat pics from all! I enjoyed them, thanks for sharing
  14. I've never noticed that so don't know what to do about it. Having said that, I'd better keep my fingers crossed. It will probably start happening!
  15. Hello and welcome to you and your new grey Have you read the thread in the rescue room? I would advise you to. There is lots of good advice there on rescuing/rehoming a grey. Here is the url http://www.greyforums.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?27-Rescue-Bird-Haven Start slowly and let your bird set the pace. Sounds like your bird was in a sad situation, but they are very intelligent and will usually respond to positive change. 7 is still young in grey years. Good luck and God bless
  16. Yes, cool pics. Thanks for sharing!
  17. Here's hoping letting Nilah out in the morning continues to work for you! My schedule has changed and I'm not able to let Timber out in the mornings like I did in the past. Fortunately, he doesn't seem to mind. Hubby retired, so he is there with him all day now and they have a lot better relationship than they previously did. On the downside, hubby still doesn't trust himself to leave Timber out. He still can't "handle" him without a bite. I'm hoping that will change as time passes.
  18. Cute! Calm indeed. Timber would shred the hat and any finger close enough to try to hold it on...
  19. Welcome to you and Sonny I'm looking forward to hearing more about your life together and seeing some baby pics
  20. Same thing happened with a different item my sister and I were ordering on Amazon for my mom. She sent me the link and asked me to order it (she listed the price). When I pulled it up, it was $2 higher. I called her and she went and looked again. Even after clearing the cache, the prices were different on her computer and mine. Odd indeed! I've been replacing mine yearly. Guess I need to do it even more often!
  21. http://www.amazon.com/Zoo-Med-Avian-Sun-Bulb/dp/B000KH9S88/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1382883145&sr=8-1&keywords=avian+sun+bulb $23.48 on Amazon today. Wonder is the price fluctuates day to day. Strange!
