  1. Neat pictures and good looking fids!
  2. Timber won't eat any type of pellet either. I am reduced to grinding them up and using them in birdy bread to get any down him. Variety is what matters. You will see several threads on the forum about members who don't use pellets at all. I make sure Timber gets lots of veggies, a rice mix I cook (with added red palm oil), a little fruit, a good quality seed, and nutriberries. He's picky so it's difficult.
  3. Hello and welcome! Beautiful birds
  4. I'll be very interested to see those photos. Sounds like a neat idea! I'm glad things are going well for you.
  5. I had to hang a new boing for Timber a few weeks ago. He still refuses to go on it, though it is identical in pattern and material to the old one (learned THAT lesson the hard way) he had shredded too much to use. I'm trying to remember how long it took last "change" but it was awhile. The others aren't just kidding when they say it can take weeks for them to accept new things!
  6. Typical grey trait I guess! Timber certainly gives me the cold shoulder if I leave him for more than a day. Glad things are "back to normal!"
  7. LOL! That could well be his favorite noise. Timber has a few that he seems to relish repeating...
  8. Hello and welcome to you and Congo! I have to say that your experience so far sounds pretty normal for a rehome so far. That's what I did and it took about 3 months for things to normalize and Timber to start to trust me. God luck and God bless
  9. If it were me, I'd see another vet. A sedative for plucking is not the route I would go. I would be spraying him with 100% aloe juice.
  10. Thank heavens! And thank you for posting.
  11. Those are really nice pics! Pretty baby
  12. His colors are really starting to show! Awesome
  13. The first thing I would do is call the vets office and ask what weight they recorded for Alex. The vet could have misspoke or you could have misunderstood.
  14. Great update! Glad to hear you are recovering too. I must admit I have a little "communication" envy! I cannot get Timber to say much of anything when I am in the room. I have to sneak around the corner to hear him vocalize. Lucky you and lucky Inara
  15. Great idea! Wow, it seems that he almost doubles his weight daily. I know that's now true, but amazing how quickly he grows!
  16. I thought the same Sterling. That would be an enormous grey! When Alex is upset is his breast bone (not sure that is the correct term) very prominent? That is what my vet said they look at to determine "thinness."
  17. Hello and welcome to you and Winston! He's a beautiful bird. Good luck and God bless
  18. I wouldn't worry about the name at all. Your bird certainly won't care!
  19. Cats are like greys that way, some are picky and some are not. My Siamese (pure breed) will eat shoe leather if it smells like tuna and anything else. I have an alley cat who will eat only Purina One dry food. Period.
  20. LOL Happy birthday anyway! I feel you pain. I sprout, shred and cook my little heart out too and Timber gives it the cold shoulder. When dad eats his pizza spaghetti, he is all about that!
  21. Ah, wondered why I couldn't find it! Thanks for the info.
  22. Hello and welcome to you and Izzy! Great pics FYI
