  1. Sorry to hear about your dog's injuries but what a great report on Miss Gilbert's progress!
  2. What a beautiful baby! I understand your fears but know this, even clipped birds can catch the wind and be lost if they get outside. If they do manage to get outside, they are much eaasier prey because they can't fly to escape. I hope you don't decide to clip her. I rehomed Timber at age 5 and he was clipped. He is 8 now and hasn't been clipped since. He still doesn't fly. I'm assuming he never fledged and never learned. It is sad.
  3. Loved the video! Zoe sure seems happy!
  4. The only surprising thing is that you ever thought GreycieMae WASN'T in charge... loved the video!
  5. The light in the the link Dave posted is the one I use. I put it on a timer so it is on for 4-6 hours a day.
  6. Ahhh.. what a relief! Glad to hear the crisis is over and things are back to normal.
  7. What a beautiful baby! Thanks for sharing
  8. Timber goes in his too, with a huge fuss, but still isn't liking it like I thought he would
  9. Good luck Sterling. Timber doesn't like his Pak-O-Bird either. :\
  10. Hello and welcome to you and Ash! So sorry to hear about the loss of your Amazon. Post some picks of Ash when you can, we love pictures! Good luck and God bless
  11. What a precious baby! Good pics, enjoyed them thanks
  12. What a neat video! Timber doesn't like anything orange, with the exception of cooked sweet potato. You know, if it touches him he will die...
  13. I have four house cats. They are truly house cats, having never been outside except for trips to the vet. They have seemly zero hunter instrinct. I have never had a problem. In fact, Timber tends to torment them for his own amusement and they mostly ignore him. That said, I would never, ever leave them unattended when Timber is not locked in the cage. Accidents can be fatal or expensive and traumatic if nothing else. I wouldn't risk it for anything.
  14. Glad things worked out well for Sophie and the birdsitter! It makes it easier to enjoy your vacation when things are going well at home
  15. Timber certainly eats better than any of us! Acappella is exactly right though. If you are eating, your grey expects to eat as well. Preferably while standing on the edge of your plate. They are flock animals after all! I add red palm oil to some of Timber's food for health. I'm not sure about coconut oil, hopefully someone with more knowledge about diet will answer that one.
  16. When Lilly gets settled in, you might try foraging toys. They usually enjoy those and it kills some time. You can buy several different kinds or make your own by wrapping food (like a nut or a nutriberry) in paper. When I was working, I would take a small paper bag and stuff it with shredded paper, food wrapped in twists of paper, and that type of thing and put it in Timber's cage.
  17. How terrible! I sure feel for you. It sounds like things are "normalizing" a bit already.
  18. Same experience here Sterling. Tried raw, baked, mashed, etc. etc. and not a glimmer of interest.
  19. Hello and welcome! My advice would be to read the forum "stickies" and ask any questions you may have. There are many experienced grey owners on the forum who are always willing to help. Good luck and God bless
