  1. Glad you were able to find one close, and hope it is a great one!

So cute, and looking so curious and intelligent already!
  3. I actually thought that very thing, Greywings.
  4. LOL That was great! Timber does several distinctive meows, including one where the cat sounds tortured. He saves that one for desperate times when he wants attention. Good job on The Andy Griffith theme! What a cutie...
  5. I believe that after you have had time to grieve for Spy you will want to open your heart to another grey. After you've experienced that close bond (unlike any other in my experience) it leaves a hole that needs to be filled. That's just my opinion and the way I feel. I'm not talking replacement here. You will always carry Spy in your heart. The why and what questions you are asking are part of the grieving process. Remember that birds, like people and all species, are sometimes born with congenital heart or other defects that are undetectable or missed. No comfort I know, but sometimes things are just beyond our control. God bless.
  6. I think the red palm oil I've been putting in Timber's food helps. He is shinier and fuller since I added it.

    What a beautiful baby!
  8. Mine has the stainless mesh as well. Timber is not a chewer so that hasn't been a problem. He is a small TAG at about 290 grams, so Gracie would make mincemeat of him!
  9. I have the pack-o-bird. I got the one made for African greys. Unfortunately, Timber hates it (or any other carrier) but it is well made and big enough for him. It comes with two small bowls and shade type covers on the three open sides.
  10. I also make soap. I have a back, screened in porch. I measure my FO or EO out on the porch and leave it there while I make the soap. When it's time to add it, I take the pot to the porch and stir it in. Then I take it back in the house and mold it. We haven't had any problems. I have a large, old, and well-ventilated house though. If I was in a small area (like an apartment) it might be different. I also mix my lye and liquid on the porch and don't bring it in until the fumes are gone. As to candles, I gave them up when I got Timber. Since I'd read I couldn't burn them (or use on a warmer like I did) I just quit making them. I'm no expert, but that is what works for us!
  11. Haaaaaa probably voted absentee and didn't tell you!
  12. I just have no words to express my sorrow. You did all the right things. God's peace to you.
  13. Hello and welcome to you and Ava! Keep us posted, ask anything you want, and post pics. God bless
  14. I use the floor lamp and avian light bulb in your pic. Timber doesn't get any natural sun either, and they need it. As to the heating items, I have no idea. My house is between 62 and 80, and hasn't been a problem.
  15. What a sweetheart! I've never had a bird who tried to get on my head, so have no experience with that.
  16. Great news Nancy! Glad Ollie is well and everything worked out
  17. Interesting. I've been trying to find a way out of sproutpeoples high prices.
  18. Yes, I think it is exactly the same one. It isn't a puzzle for him, but he loves it anyway. Sometimes he hangs on it and eats, sometimes he plays with it like in the video. I knew someone had asked about them but couldn't remember who! That's one of the reasons I posted it. The tube bells are stainless and I found them at the bird fair. They are indestructible and great!
