  1. Great pics! He looks so alert, engaged and happy
  2. Beautiful pics, as always! Thanks for sharing
  3. Good luck Emma! Looking forward to the pics
  4. Definitely excitement does it... Timber pins over cheese and chicken bones!
  5. He is sure making a lot of progress in a short time. I love reading Gilbert updates
  6. What a character! I love the Marco videos
  7. More than one = MBS. Sorry to tell you, but it's a fact You mean all the people who answer aren't psychotherapists? I'm crushed :\
  8. I know the feeling. I'm always on the back burner when my son is home from college. Ah well! I still enjoy seeing Timber so excited and happy, and, like your husband, my son gets all puffed up
  9. They are lovely. Blessings on you and Dusky! I hope you have a long and loving relationship
  10. Like children, they are always pushing their limits and checking the boundaries!
  11. Thanks for the update. I'm not seeing anything on the list I use, thank God, but need to know so I can check!
  12. Great pic and great progress! Yes, don't give up on the scritches yet. That comes later
  13. Right you are! Cardboard boxes are endlessly fascinating...
  14. You are probably right Sassy, about doing it sooner rather than later. In hindsight, I shouldn't have given Timber a choice. I should have just put him in the new cage when I brought him home, when he was adjusting to "all new" anyway.
  15. As long as he's interested and eating it, I'd say you did good!
  16. Nancy, I'm sure that bird to bird to bird things can be different. A relative of mine had a grey who saw her as a "mate." The bird was jealous, aggressive, and ended up being a plucker. I don't have any experience, but I know I don't want anything to do with that kind of relationship. It ended up making the bird's life difficult, and was no picnic for the other family members either. I guess that is why I am anxious about Timber's behavior. I'm glad things didn't turn out that way for you and Sophie!
  17. Also, Ray's comment about the size is right. It takes up a lot of space. The other thing I'm not sure about (if Timber ever decides to give it a shot) is the space between the bottom of the cage and the floor. The one he is in now sits a couple of feet off the floor. Since he is always trying to get to the floor and I have three free roaming cats, I'm not sure how that will work!
  18. That is the one I have for Timber (that he won't use). He continues to prefer the rust bucket (a slight exaggeration). I think it looks great and it seems well made, but sadly I haven't had any real experience with it yet except as a piece of furniture!
  19. The right "mood" is right! Timber loves bathing when he wants to do it. He almost always like to be sprayed, but a full bath is on his terms only.
  20. Cool! Timber's head did a 360 swivel when the video started. He was looking, shuffling around on his perch and clicking away!
  21. Wow, great video of Salsa with the spoon! That "egg beard" doesn't seem to bother her a bit. Timber's eating is slowed down by the fact that if there is anything on his beak, he has to stop and clean it.
  22. OK, I'll keep a close eye on that. We are just getting away from the biting and I don't want to go back there. Thanks
  23. Well, when you think about it, what do they do in the wild? When they aren't foraging for food they are preening and napping I would assume? I was surprised at Timber's inactivity when no one was around too. But, when someone is here he gets pretty active. I don't know that birds and other animals necessarily get bored the way people do. If they do, I'd assume that is when the pluck and exhibit other negative behaviors?
