  1. Sounds like you have the reverse of our situation. Hubby says that I would be like a lobster. Boiled and done without noticing! Probably true...
  2. I have wondered that very thing. I suppose they would have to acclimate gradually, like with the seasons? My house is often 80 degrees and sometimes a bit more. Timber doesn't seem to have any problem with that. I've always worried more about the cold than the heat. I'm cold-natured and I don't turn the a/c on until hubby gets uncomfortable. No problems so far, but I keep an eye on him.
  3. haaaaa! I didn't either until about 10 years ago. I noticed that my hands were looking about 20 years older than the rest of me. True though that men don't worry about it like women. My husband never wears gloves and he uses cleaning agents and does dishes all the time.
  4. I've never seen latex break down to that extent either and I've been using them for years! That's bizarre. Enjoy the beach though!
  5. Great video! I too loved the amen at the appropriate time and pitch...
  6. If my husband had seen it, we would have definitely have brought it home. He specializes in "tacky!" It does have a strange charm though...
  7. He sure was having a good time with the skate! I'm always amazed at how easily they are entertained considering their intelligence, then I remember how my kids could play with simple toys for hours. Timber likes to bat a plastic cup around on his playtop and never seems to tire of it rolling back so he can attack it again. Thanks for posting the video
  8. What a neat video! I think she knows who Andrew is. She just likes the sound and the response it provokes
  9. Loved the video! They are indeed manipulative liars, at least in my experience. Timber hasn't turned his wiles on me yet, but he spends his days trying to think of ways to lure the cats over so he can throw something at them or nip their tails. On the positive side, his tail nips seem to startle them more than hurt them (they jump or look but don't yowl) so I know he is being playful and not "clamping down."
  10. Did you try the site posted by one of our members recently? http://www.greyvid.com/ I thought that looked interesting but haven't had any video to post
  11. Enjoyed the video! I have to say that after my experiences with Timber's beak, I'm not sure I would have been as brave as that lady! I'd like to think I would try though.
  12. Yes, thanks for sharing. Fascinating stuff! Those of us with birds that aren't that "vocal" appreciate the insight on what we know is going on in their heads, even if they won't say it!
  13. I hope Gilbert doesn't get his days and nights mixed up like my kids did when they would sleep all day! Great news that Gilbert is getting along so well with all the changes. He certainly knows where "home" is now
  14. That's great! It sounds like that may be the solution for all of you
  15. That sounds like a good idea. I have to say my first thought was "hunchback of notre dame" though!
  16. Wow, when it rains it pours! Take care of yourself and don't overdo. Still praying for Kiki's safe return!
  17. I know the feeling, I almost bit someone this week myself!
  18. Wow, what pretty birds! Not keeping my house at 45 to 55 to have one though...
  19. Hello and welcome to you and your good looking flock! Funny stuff here. You all had me laughing
  20. Cool pic How does she like it? I'm always looking for things Timber might actually be interested in...
  21. Precious! How exciting to have a baby on the way :0
  22. I believe that would be an abbreviation for "feathered kid" If I'm wrong, someone correct me! That's what I always assumed it was.
