hope u have a speedy recovery as far as wing clipping goes I plan on letting Smokeys wings grow out again , Rocky and Opey are fully flighted but hardly ever fly any where but Shamrock is flying around every where even on Smokeys cage which Smokey isn't liking this to much , I think it scares him when Shamrock flys over his cage and when he flys on top of his cage Smokey will just stay in his cage , he won't come out until Shamrock is gone , poor baby so I decided to let Smokey grow his wings out to

he goes in the kitchen sink for his baths and I use Aloe Gel for his feather ,the baths he gets 5 days a week and then he gets 2 regular showers twice a week , he used to hate the baths but now he is getting use to them , I use a plain spray bottle and use 2 Tablespoons of Aloe gel to 24 ounces of water but the water has to be filtered water or bottled water , we have filtered water in our kitchen and for our showers , and he gets sprayed all over his whole body , this is the site where I order my aloe Gel from and the Pine cones http://www.premiumpinecones.net/catalog_products.html

I have a rescued grey named Smokey and he is doing good but we have had him now for around 2 months , he still is not totally trustworthy of me, he is still kinda leary at times but he has done great so far , I let him on my shoulder last night for the first time and he was really good he just sat their chatting away for a good 20 minutes then he stepped down down very nicely for me to take him off , sometimes he will step right up from his cage and sometimes he goes the other way , I don't force it I just come back later and try again , I have him eating veggies and that's a plus but he picks his feathers and we are still working on that , he get lots of aloe vera baths and lots of pinecones to chew on , I still find a feather or 2 but nothing like all the feathers I found before , we are still a work in progress

I have ordered from their before I really like her site she has a lot to choose from and she has different things , I make some of my toys for the birds and she has a lot of toy parts

I have been using Aloe Vera Gel on Smokey and it seems to be helping with his plucking issues and he doesn't mind the spray bottle now so anything that helps works for me

yep I have a small bottle of Listerine for the feather fungal but you only spray a tine bit mixed with water , then you use the Aloe Vera Gel mixed with water afterwards , no blow drying he has to dry on his own and he loves the pine cones crossing fingers I really don't want to use a collar on him unless I really have no choice , o and you have drops to put in his water bottle only like 4 drops to a 16 ounce bottle of water , we have a water filter on our water and on our shower , so all our water is filtered , I will let you know in 3 or 4 days how it's going

Hi and Welcome to the forum and congrads on your new baby , I'am currently handfeeding and raising a baby Eclectus right now he wil be 11 weeks old tomorrow and he is on 3 handfeedings a day plus some Goldenfeast , I always put some Goldenfeast in a small ceramic bowl in his cage to snack on and he eats veggies in the evening between his afternoon and nite feeding as long as he wants formula he can stay on formula , not going to put a time limit on his handfeedings , when he is ready to drop a feeding he will let me know

not to be nosey but what are you using for bedding for him? if you are use corn cob bedding I would remove it , it's not good for him and use plain black and white news paper , corn cob bedding if ingested can make him very sick

o lol well I can be her Aunt lol and she can always come visit me

he means a lot to me so I wanted him to start out his new life with everything new including his very own cage cover

ok now I don't feel so bad he sneezed for almost a week and I was so worried I didn't know what to except call the vet , maybe he had some formula stuck up their and finally got it loose
