great great idea I had seen and heard of ideas of the frozen pureed fruits in the ice trays and was hoping to try them see if they tolerate the cold stuff. I had no idea you could give them lil tastes of yogurt or ice cream :eek: heck I dint know they could have sugar like that of a freezer pop .. thats what I love about these threads! well I thought it was a pretty cool name too :rolleyes: I am not sure why he is having such problems with it. But anyways .. my bird my name HA ... Im praying for the beginning of April to be bringing him home. Keeping my fingers crossed! Marco was hatched Jan 6th. So, however long it takes ... I'll wait till hes ready! I want him strong and healthy and eating well on his own and the ppl hes with now will monitor ALL of that ! I saw the last one they raised for another customer and he was gorgeous! I think they are hand raising a total of 5 now ... so I just know that 1 will be mine

Ohhh goodness dats a liddle one! *smiles* Couple weeks huh? So you will be doing alot of the hand feeding yourself? I have lots of pets too! I have 2 small "yippie" dogs both under 3 pounds, and 1 large dog over 100 pounds, 2 outdoor cats, chickens and a horse! Altho, those animals are kepts down the road a bit at my neighbors I wish you lots of luck with the raising of your baby! This is an awesome place to get information, ask lots of questions great peeps here! Cant wait to see more pics!

WOOOOOOOO HOOOOOO goodness how exciting is that!!! I cant wait to be posting the same thing. Im going to see Marco tomorrow (did I mention hubby hates that name? :rolleyes:) and picking up his cage! Ohhhh no I am so sorry to hear that! I hope the vet is able to determine the problem. Keep us posted on Anya! I hope Spencer did well at the Dr's too cant wait to hear your progress with him. I think for my own sanity just for peace of mind being a NEW parront and stuff I might just keep a scale and maybe weekly track my babys weight becuz if something would be wrong I am afraid I might not notice the other signs and it seems weight is a pretty big factor sometimes.

thanks I was a lil worried I think my 2 little ones will be scared but i have a full grown retriever and hes quite inquisitive!

outside of cats .... do most parrots get along w/dogs if basically raised at a young age with them you think?

So hey there AmyJ and welcome to the Greys Forum. My little baby as you can see is only about 5 weeks old. I have been doing my research for months now as well. Finding this website was a godsend! The help and information shared by these good people has been tremendous! I am so thankful to everyone here. In my down time (waiting on my baby) I have been stocking up on "things" Yes I did buy a cage (a gorgeous one I might add) and it was fairly expensive, however the stand and shower perch and stuff I am lucky enough that hubby and my crafty neighbor will be making. Heck I might even have them make me a huge outdoor cage so when its nice out we can go sit out there! (I haven't asked yet *grins* so shhhhh dont tell them I want that yet) *giggles* You sound like you are doing everything right in order to be a great parront and I wish you lots of luck!

Well t'ya darlin This has been my 3rd time quitting for a long period of time. I quit for years when I was pregnant n such. Then always something huge to push me back over the edge I have just got to be strong. Now I have lots more reasons to quit. Not to mention who the heck can really afford it anymore? Phew they sure up there in price. I remember when I first started smoking it was 94 cents with 6 cents tax!!! oh no did I just give away my age Anyways ... it was just time. I just lost my step dad to lung cancer he was a heavy smoke and he would of perferred to have died with a smoke dangling between his lips! Not me! I want to be round a long time specially to drive my kids crazy LOL but thanks having a strong support group definately helps!

my friend today gave me a complete set of stainless steel cookware that she had used a few times and HATED. I made my first meal with them tonite and i was worried but it went really well and nothing stuck im totally stoked to have been given this as a gift.. as i left she said merry christmas that works for me !!!!!!! YEAH! one more thing crossed off my list "to do"

i quit too when i put down my deposit on my lil egg lol he wasnt even hatched yet ... but i figured those few hundred dollars a month can be put to good use in buying things I need for my new baby and hubby even quit so thats even more savings plus i just feel bettter great advice
