LOL well its not a big fancy story or nothing ... My oldest son (18) is just not able to get himself up to any type of alarm. I have tried the round wind up ones with the big bells ontop of it, Ive tried a clock radio, Ive bought the kind that say LOUD ALARM. Heck he even sets his 2 cell phones to go off and nothing ... I say ... NOTHING wakes this kid up  So, Ive been hearing alot about these "sonic boom" clocks that are sposed to be made especially for the hearing impaired people. So I called the ear store (HAHAHHAA) close to here and low n behold they had one for a mere $85.00  good lawd .. but everyones telling me theres no way he'll sleep thru that  it even had a bed shaker thing and a place to plug in a lamp or something to make the lamp flicker on and off. So when it came home I was all excited to get it all hooked up didnt even tell the kid that I did (this was thursday night) I plugged in a strobe light  and stuffed that bedshaker under his pillow and lo-n-behold it woke him up the next morning however ... it was for 2 reasons ... 1 the bedshaker came out from under his pillow and was smacking him in the head as it vibrated and 2 his buddy had crashed over and the lights flickering on woke him up which in turn woke up the boy child. The tone it produced tho, wouldnt of probably of even woke me up Needless to say ... 3 days later he had slept thru it every day since then ... UGH. So for $85 we took that back and I went online to Amazon and started surfing and I must of read well over 40 posts of if people liked the clock or not etc etc ...and 85% of them swore it would wake the dead!!!!! So I thought, well, maybe I will try a new clock ... still the same sonic boom type clock with a bed shaker thing but for only $26 and this one is definately LOTS lots lots louder and so far its been the best clock we've tried. Soooooo that is my tale of the sonic boom  its been a difficult time really ... its not that his hearing is bad, its that he is that sound of a sleeper and well lets face it a teenager that doesnt like to come home and get in bed at 10-11pm in order to get up for work at 6am  and pretty soon hes moving out so hes not going to HAVE mommy there to wake him up anymore so ... we had to do something!

I think my 2 boys will be moving out  My oldest is buying a modular home and moving it in so gonna be plenty of room for my new baby

OOOOOOOOOOh goodness! What a terrible time you have had as well as expensive. Your baby is lucky for sure to have you!! It definately concerns me being new to the bird owner scene probably why I ask so many questions. I want to be so careful and safe and a good parront! This has definately convinced me to get a scale and I'll ask the store b4 I bring him home what they are keeping his weight at cuz I know they monitor it there closely as well. I hope you are able to bring your baby home soon!!!!!!!!!! Anyone have one of those full spectrum lights that they use? Suggestions? -
yes yes the wait is killing me LOL I come here to get my fix
-
I keep hearing rumors that a male CAG .. has a FLAT head more-so then a female .... any thoughts? I know the only way to know for sure is the DNA test ... but your thoughts?

I havent made the decision "yet" after this Thursday there will be more to choose from and I get first pick so in 2 weeks will be the HUGE deciding day and I plan on staying up there for a while and seeing which bird seems to interact with me and hope I make the right decision. -
ahhhhhh yes the wait ... *double sigh* I didnt realize until I got home that their eyes would be changing color until I was watching some other videos of greys !!!!! What age does that happen? OH and that decision? OMG the petstore owner said this Thursday she will be getting 3 more greys in!!!!!!!!! still needing hand raised but a few weeks older then these 2 (5 week olds) so now I gotta choose from 5 babies LOL ... SHEESH !!!!!!! But she did say since I got my deposit in and so much of it paid in advance, I get first pick :D yeah!

Ty Ty and yes I agree I only bought the first bag because that is what they ween them off to and highly recommend using. I am sure as they grow and change if he starts wanting something different she will surely counsel me (lol least I hope she will) Gosh the people there are so great it really is such a relief and even a JOY knowing how much they are truly being cared for and how well. I can totally see me having difficulty choosing too  I just wanted to take both of them home lol and yes the mega long wait is gonna be a doozie! But I will have time to tinker with the cage and Yes I am glad I got the large one with the play top I think that is really important for them to have that kinda room HA now if I could reach the top w/out needing a step stool that would be great  thanks for watching the vid .. you have no idea ok maybe you do .. how excited I am. and even more so that i figured out how to post it LMAO It was great to be able to call my mom and have her watch it on youtube she was just amazed! Thanks for all the wonderful helps and tips and suggestions!

So, I got to go visit the store today and see my lil feller! *sighs happily* He is 5 weeks old and I was able to take a lil 3 minute video of him. The one I am interested in is the one kinda in the back under the towel. However the one upfront sure was watching every move I made and really active. The one in the back kinda laid back! Im sure that will change over the next few months so I havent made my decision yet on which one I will definately take! Id probably grab them both if given the chance and money LOL Got more toys today and lots of supplies to make some really cool toys. Got some super neat foot toys too. Starting to stock up a lil bit on some pellets. The petstore lady said you could freeze them  I didnt know! I got to visit with the babies for like 40 minutes today and have been on cloud 9 ALL day. I even got to bring the cage home today. It sure looked SMALLER in the pet store holy smokes!!!!!!!!!!! I cant believe how big it is lol heres the vid of the babies: if you wanna see! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CqJtuWJlwBs&context=C378a6b4ADOEgsToPDskL-G_45FjRZ_yjyXHX575aL Oh and btw My name is Sara, I live in Kansas with hubby and 2 grown boys! I dont think I have formally introduced myself yet We have 3 dogs, 2 outdoor cats, and 1 horse that is potentially sold keeping my fingers crossed and a few chickens! Definately could say a full house lol!
