  1. Wisp... I'll agree to no shoulder status for now. GREAT pictures! Shoulder status, is for when your bird trusts you, and you trust the bird. Nancy
  2. I know one thing. " crazy" is BAD!!!!! I don't know what it means... but if Rom is going crazy, Kids tell me to run! Ryan tells me I never want to see Rom crazy! Sophie
  3. I don't give my birds vitamins. I don't believe in air purifyers. I am old school, which doesn't mean its right. I provide them a healthy diet, including fruits and veggies. My wall have been painted with refusals! I don't go crazy about it, try over and over. We have always gotten there, with healthy diet. Nancy
  4. Ohhhh put away those antiques! Anything important to me is behind a glass, or put away. I don't even have curtains or blinds on lower level anymore. Gabby seems to compensate quite well with any of her physical handicaps. Now you need to learn them, which you are doing. You guys are a perfect match! Gabby and you and hubby are all going to thrive. Nancy
  5. Wingy... sorry! Stick to your guns, don't give an inch! Eventually, I promise Jake will understand he is never going to win this arguement, thru routine and consistency. He'll go to bed at your time eventually. My guys go to bed at 8pm. They now put themselves to bed but I went thru the battle. I never gave them another hour, unless I was having a party. Then bedtime got extended. Sophie LOVES parties. Nancy
  6. All is back to normal today. Kiki and Sunny snuggling... Sophie teasing Kiki, Kiki getting mad and squaking at Sophie. Sunny yelling at them both! AHHHHH!! The good times! Nancy
  7. Horray for Romeo!!! Make it fun when away from the cage, bonding as you did, will make him want to come back for more. The best advice I have ever received about Sophie, was from her original owner who was awesome. " Listen to your bird." They will teach you everything you need to know, even if you know nothing. ( we knew very little!) I never forgot his advice and truly followed it. Nancy
  8. Don't focus on the bad trim. It is, what it is! Move on. Focus on training, and developing flight feathers. Nancy
  9. AWWWW, a bonding moment! Many times, we as parents think this is a small gain in trust, but actually, is HUGE! Nancy
  10. Remember guys.... no matter how old or young they are, it is important to establish homes for them, if something happens to you. It doesn't matter, how old or young you are! Take care of this. It is important. My gang have a home with friends, until kids are established in their careers and can take their babies. Sunny and Sophie go to Ryan, Kiki goes to Sean. Nancy
  11. Gabby... get that earring! We all like shiny things. Rom say's I have excellent taste, that I like emeralds and diamonds!. She say's we can afford SMALL emeralds and diamonds, but I want BIGGER emeralds and diamonds! Who do I talk to on this site to get BIGGER diamonds and emeralds? Sophie
  12. I hope its more like what Timbersmom said, rather than Sophie thinking Sunny needed it. Sunny can snuggle anytime with Kiki. If Sophie is suspecting he needs it... to me, that means Sunny's time is close. Sophie would know. She is our flock leader.I'm hoping Sophie is just missing Ryan. Nancy
  13. Judygram... you are lucky! For many parents, greys pull the usual child stuff. " I need a drink of water!"LOL Nancy
  14. I'm not going to focus on the bad clip. I've clipped ( i call it a trim), since they could still fly. If he hasn't learned to fly... I would say, let the feathers grow in, practice flying. It requires a second person on the other side. I LOVED the pictures! He is very happy in them, and seems confident and secure. The eyes and ruffled feathers tell alot. The dialated eyes tells me its going to be just fine! To me, it say's " I like my new home and mama!" Don't freak out about the weird voices. Greys imitate! Eventually your baby will imitate you and YOUR family members. Hopefully Romeo won't make you sound like a " valleygirl" from California like Sophie sounds now. I always ask the kids " whom is she imitating?" They just look at each other with smirks on their faces!!!! LOL Nancy I AM NOT A VALLEYGIRL!
  15. Sophie my grey, is 12, Kiki a little younger, Sunny my rescue, we have no idea! Nancy
  16. This morning I got up earlier than birds do, walked into birdroom, I found Sunny snuggling with Sophie! I did a double take, yes, they were snuggling! Sunny is bonded to Kiki. They snuggle all the time. Have never found Sophie snuggling with anyone! Could it be that Sunny is so old, Sophie is okay with this? Nancy
  17. Don't go crazy focusing on it. Let Toby take care of it. I remember one time I went crazy waiting for Sophie to pull out a feather that needed to go! She started to limp when walking. Ryan, rolled his eyes... grabbed the feather, told her to get rid of it, which she did, and she was fine. Sophie can be quite the actress when she wants to be. I'm lucky kids recognized her behavior! Nancy
  18. Vacumn, vacumn, vacumn! Mine sits in the middle of their room. They love it! Nancy
  19. When you are cooking, or need to do something else, it is important to put your baby in the cage, and close the door. Of coarse, explain you have to do " .....". I'll be back when I am done. Of coarse, follow thru. Sophie appreciates my explanation, whether she understands it or not.... she say;s " Ahhhhh!" She knows I'll be back so she focuses on that. Nancy
  20. As long as you continue to expect her, to accept you... she will do it. Just takes time. Hubby needs to be involved in letting Gabby know that he " accepts" you. It takes time, but I promise... stick to your expectations, you will get there. It took Sophie six months to accept everyone. I LOVE how she loves us all. Nancy
  21. I don't drink coffee. In the morning, I drink diet pepsi on ice. ( I know, bad habit!) Kiki jumps on the counter, steals an ice cube, shakes off the diet pepsi.( nothing is ever my own!) Nancy
  22. Welcome to parents 101! I'm looking forward to helping you to become an AMAZING parent.Sophie THINKS I'm amazing, not so sure, but I'll take her respect! LOL! Nancy
