  1. Our grey isn't very messy. However, she is under a year old still. I think she is less messy than the cockatiel. They poop a LOT more. She does toss food sometimes. The dogs like it though!
  2. Did the link disappear? I can't see one. : ( Never mind...restarted the computer & it's there. Very cute!!
  3. pikachu

    Loose skin?

I don't have the answer, but I just want to say, "great photography!!"
  4. Yeah, we call it the pterodactyl scream. Thanks for the video Dan, Dayo cracks me up. What do you have all that attached to? My girl likes to hang upside down & swing, but we only have things for that inside the cage. Any suggestions?
  5. He is a very pretty CAG. My girl blushes like that too.
  6. My little girl says "ho ho ho", just in time for Christmas! She is almost 8 months.
  7. My girl can be loud, but it is usually whistles, noises or chatting. Sometimes she lets something rip that is ear piercing. I ask her what that is all about. I chalk it up to it being like a baby who has found her voice.
  8. It's sort of like having a shy child who can recite the Gettysburg Address and asking them to do it in a room full of strangers. The outcome is sure to be disastrous. I hate when people come over and stick their face right up to the cage, talking at the bird. I'm sure she hates that as well.
  9. Aw, I know how excited you were. Maybe today. : )
  10. We had our girl's band taken off for safety reasons. We had her microchipped - it was $20.
  11. Aw! Too sweet! They love sharing food don't they?
  12. That was SO cute!! Thanks for sharing!
  13. Aw! They look like they are having a great time! What do you have underneath to catch the poo?
  14. Our baby was still taking one feeding a day when we brought her home at 20 weeks. They sent a bunch of formula home with her & we mixed it up and fed it to her from a cup. So, she was still getting the nutrients and the feeding from the formula, but not getting it from a syringe. If offered, she would probably still take it. She still sometimes will grab onto my finger and do the baby bob. She is now 8 months.
  15. I think that the fruit blend causes the following concerns: 1. What are they colored with? I think that it is natural coloring. 2. Some birds will pick out their favorite colors. 3. Their poo will be the color they ate. This can mask the actual color of their poo and will also stain anything it touches. Our Quaker would eat all the red on one day, then green, etc. leaving the orange & purple for last. She made an easy switch to Roudybush. The Tiel switched over to Zupreem natural from only seed. Petco does sell it, but I have to look hard for it. I'm not sure what sizes they sell. The kind we buy for the Tiel are little round balls, too small for a parrot.
  16. Does his poop (the usual white portion) have a greenish tint to it?
  17. We use Roudybush for the CAG and the store which sells it is an hour away. The Tiel & the Quaker eat Zupreem & we get that at Petco.
  18. Sounds to me like things are going great! One thing I have heard is that positive reinforcement works the best. So when I have interacted with my sweet girl I always say "gentle" when she is acting the correct way instead of saying "no bite" when she gets nippy. Maui likes to mouth my fingers and does bite a little harder sometimes. All I have to do is say "gentle" and she understands what that means. The same goes for when one of the kids is interacting with her. That way, the good behavior is reinforced rather than telling them 'no' and they have figure out how they should act. I am so glad that things are going well for the two of you!
