white tea (DECAF). lol i was in the kitchen a couple of days ago and i made myself a cup of white tea, i like it cold so i pour it over ice in a large red plastic cup. well my cag was on my shoulder watching what i was doing and when i went to take a sip she extended her neck out to get some too. so why not i held the cup up and she stuck her head in and drank some. she loves it! lol so last night she was on top of her cage and I made another batch and she was watching me. so i held up the cup with my left hand and held out right arm and she flew right over so i gave her a sip. i took her back to her cage and walked to other parts of the house and repeated the exercise a few times and she came every time. lol this is awesome.

you posted this 2 weeks ago so have you bought the CAG? also out of pure curiosity for me because im still learning about parrots is why did you give your bird garlic? was it based totally upon that link you posted that garlic was good for parrots?

I was just asking a question on how the bird was able to fly with his wings being being clipped. The reason is because i am on the fence on getting my CAG clipped. I love watching her fly round the house but do not want to see her fly out the door. I was not bringing up or wanting to start a discussion on the clipped/unclipped debate in this thread. :mad::mad: :mad:

do it, the chick is not due to hatch for another week and you wont get the baby until the end of February. your feelings will change. My orange wing died in July so i know where you are coming from. I got my CAG 2 weeks ago and am very happy i have her.

officer Sharon Karns sounds like a twit. i rack this up to a bias towards birds by the general population and sharon karns. if these were dogs or cats Ratclif would have been hauled off to jail.

100% correct. its a ad plain and simple. they are hurting for business and going to desparte length to generate some revenue.

I live in Denver and have been to this bird store a couple of times and I have not been impressed. It is a very small store that is PACKED full, The parrot store in Loveland Colorado is much cleaner and toys are cheaper http://avalonaviary.com/ and most important the birds are kept in a separate room away from the toys they sell. unlike the grey store which has their toys for sale 3 feet away from all their birds. found this on youtube. ive never fed a baby but common sense would tell me that she knows less than I do.

wow i hope you find out whats going on. My cag is still a baby at 13 weeks, so i would like to keep myself aware of behavior issues like this just incase my little luna starts to show this behavior i may know how to address it.

interesting ive never known onions to be toxic to birds. from that list, there are a lot of plants but not many food items. i knew about chocolate, apple seeds, avocado, mushrooms, caffeine. but not onions or garlic.

my parakeet is only on a pellet diet and its the only thing he will eat. if i put anything else in his bowl he will pick it up and throw it out. i mean everything, fruit, veggies, seeds... he is one picky bird.
