I have an opportunity now to get a "magna" DYH amazon. Its a challenge because the owner said it was a breeder bird, and a moody biter, but its just so beautiful and alledgedly a great singer/talker. Not sure what to do. id appreciate any and all advice.

Plus when I spoke to him, he told me it wasn't clipped...

So true, I think a better option would be like Dave said finding a breeder that might not be around the corner, or looking for a re-home/rescue from craigslist or other site.

Get it off ur chest and let the owner know the conditions are unacceptable.... try to negotiate the price to see if u can take it home =) how much are they asking for it out of curiosity?

Try to hold off on getting your new baby if possible until its weaned so you dont have to hand feed it. and take some pictures when you can too. =)

Now that is great news Codys mom. Im happy for you, I know I was shocked to hear Aristotle talking, although he hasnt said anything in my presence (words) but I love the noises she makes all day. Imagine what Cody says when your not looking, you gotta set up a video camera...

Now Aristotle is tricking my father in law into believing his cell phone is ringing, the bird loves it, and the old man does too. Hes just visiting, and a call came in, afterward Aristotles had a ball making him reach for his pocket.

My bird just blurted out the "emergency broadcast system test beep/screech/noise" today. With the storms in the atmosphere, the local classical radio station had been testing the system, and this morning, I had the pleasant surprise of the "test". I love my grey!

Keep an emergency bag of food/bottled water, the carrier and anything else you might need for him together under the cage. God forbid anything happens so serious, but if it does, ignore the bites - save the bird.
