  1. Hi Karen:

Thank you so very much for dropping me a note... It made me feel very special :)

Had to return your favor & let you know I'm thinking about you & all your critters !!!

  2. Kudos to you, Karen !!! You & Tybalt are certainly having your issues but you know the perservance pays off
  3. What an absolute little darling !!! Yes, we all LOVE those beautiful innocent eyes...
  4. Good job, guys !!! Hope Talon doesn't get chased off her new perch...
  5. I agree... Kudos !!! to "lovethatgrey" for explaining it all !!!
  6. Talk about using tools to accomplish a task !!!!
  7. There is absolutely nothing more to life than birds and nature.... Thank you for reminding us again
  8. Gwen

    I Remember Game

I, also, remember going to work with my Dad on Saturdays and playing on his "calculator" - pushing a bunch of number keys & seeing how long the carriage on top went back & forth....
  9. Good metaphor of Cricket/Honeymoon Does it feel like a terrible "2's" stage or maybe permanent ???
  10. What very talented birdies !!! You must be very proud. I can see by the videos & pictures that you love them & they love you !!!
  11. Paul... What else is new with Missy ?????
  12. HE, HE, HE !!!! Yes, our Greys "know" they are the boss of all of us !!!! Also, Roscoe, Charlie and I are all tolerating Miss Gabriella's hormones hoping her cycle calms down any day now !!!!
  13. This thread is much like the I remember game
  14. It seems that Zons are much more energetic and gregarious than Greys... Cags are more introverted than Tags... Was a Zon added to a Grey family or vice-versa ??? Just interested...
  15. Thank you, Thank you.... Yes, this is helpful. It also seems that those of you who have Zons, also have Greys. Is it possible that with the mix that each don't seem to fit the mold???
  16. I'm so glad Tybalt has stopped eating you !!! I was wondering about that!!! Yes, Gabby has been quite testy lately !!! Usually she is a quiet little sweetheart... Even my husband asked me the other day what her problem was... she evidently chirped non-stop for 2 hrs. while I was gone for a Dr.'s appt. & the grocery store... She sits in her food bowl all day making her little chortles with her tail up the bars... Poor thing, I keep looking for an egg!! When I've got Roscoe out or feeding him she does her wing display or perch flying... Roscoe always makes me laugh case he always tells her, "Hey !!! Stop that!!" Your right, never a dull moment
  17. Thanks Karen... He is showing me he loves me more everyday !!! Last night I cupped his head & leaned into his little face as he half shut his eyes feeling protected, and whispered, "I Love you, you sweet little boy" and he immediately made kissy sounds. It melted my heart
  18. First of all... Thanks for getting back to me !!! 30 different species of Zons ??? Are the ones here on the forum the same as yours ?? (Cricket) Do Zons have the same ability for talking as Greys?? Also, are Zons the same level of intelligence as Greys?? Why do Zons get a bad rap?? The ones here on the forum seem to be clowns !!! As far as being easy to read, man oh man, my grey is extremely difficult... Do Zons pin & fluff like greys?? Sorry, just curious
  19. You've brought so many GOOD things to the forum these past few wks...... Starting our new rm, showing us your visit to Bird Paradise but the vid of Nilah's reaction to her pink dog is by far the best !!! I just can't stop thinking and chuckling about it !!!! Thank you for all you do to make us all happy
  20. Paul: So cute with Missy blowing raspberries... I also love hearing Ella-Rose's reaction to it !!! Roscoe likes to blow raspberries especially to things he doesn't like... It makes me laugh & then he laughs back & starts raspberries again... So much fun !!
  21. I absolutely love that between Louie & Nilah I'm getting a Zon insight !!!! You two girls & your birdies are amazing.... ( Oh... & Ray w/ Cricket, I can't forget him !!) I would be interested if some of you would post in the Amazon Room the marked differences btw. the Grey & the Amazon or perhaps; direct me to a previous thread that might enlighten me
  22. Thank You for sharing !!!! I laughed thru the whole thing.... Best part of my day so far !!!!! LOLOLOLOL
  23. Oh Boy... Don't get me started !!! Yes, 150 yr. old Victorian home - field stone/mortar foundation, sistern, 12 ft. ceilings, 5 BR, 2-story.. No air !! finally put window AC in living rm, closed french doors & cooled off. Yes, major dust from having windows open. We had too much privacy out in the country all alone.. Always something!! Grew, harvested & took corn to the mill to grind. Tractors, birthing calves, pitching hay & straw. Hubby was a fireman -- every 48 hrs. alone w/ kids for 24 hrs. Good for teaching them responsibilities & all of us had our own chores..... Think one of the toughest days was walking in snow up to my crotch 500 ft. to the barn, shoveling open the door (Mich. blizzard -15 degrees) to feed the animals at 4am... Yes, be careful what you wish for !!!! Wouldn't have missed it for the world !!
  24. The most recent B/W really are the most dramatic.... I really savor each shot... My grandfather was an amateur photographer & as a little girl I remember him letting me watch in his darkroom the "magic" images appear as he washed them & hung them up to dry... He photographed mainly blk. & wht. - "Thanks for bringing back a precious memory" !!! Day in & day out ---- birds by far are my favorite thing in life & it's wonderful for you to share your favorite things with us !!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart
  25. I don't have experience w/ Zons but being that next month I've had Roscoe two years --- I DO know the meaning of patience & bites !!! Louie has that same hesitation, also the bites (actually chewing) with the progress, poor babies are so reluctant.... I'm sure Roscoe doesn't mean to bite sometimes - he immediately rubs his head & makes kissy sounds afterwards. That chomp is their way to keep us from getting to their body - protection mechanism. To see Louie step up is amazing... He didn't object to your hand... It seemed that he didn't like you moving away from your knee. No other option than to fly away. Would he step back & forth from your knee to your hand ????? Just my observation ....
