well Barb, the only way I can get over it is to think that Timmy cost me 7times the value of the camera and he only destroyed one...IT COULD HAVE BEEN WORSE!!! hA hA

...when I say orangeish-reddish I mean almost brown just to clear that up.

I have changed Timmys diet from seeds ONLY to 50/50 seed/pellet for more nutrients and vitamins. (he still gets vegs, pastas, and fruits). Well his poop has changed from green and liquid-like to firm and orangeish-reddish with white urates. I called the vet and he said its OK but just wanted to check with yall. The pellets are bright in color so I assume his poop will be too kinda like when my daughter eats froot loops cereal...we get a colorful surprise in the diaper!! Ha Ha! Any opinions :confused:

Thanks! I feel good that he is in a happy home now! Ive figured out that Timmy wants to be the boss, and Im a tad bigger than him and it just wont work that way, HAHA, so when its time to come in the kitchen with us and eat or go to bed, I can make it happen...Its a lifestyle change for me and the same goes for him too! Making breakfast and dinner for him, fresh water every 3 or 4 hrs...it all adds up when I have a family with kids and other pets as well, so just like my son...when I need him to do something (not out of the ordinary stuff, just normal daily routine stuff) I now know how to get him to do it, and he still has all the free time to chew and destroy my stuff and Im cool with that!! LOL!!!!

Since I got him, he will step up when out of the cage but when inside...a bite is in route if you try to touch him, or so I thought! Heres what I have since figured out: I have been putting my finger out slow and nervouslike and I think he senses it and times his beak to make contact with ease. Well the past couple weeks I have said "step up" as I go straight to his lower chest (kinda fast and confident-like) and he steps up just fine!! This may not be a big deal, but just wanted to share! Im figuring him out more as each day goes by!

I dont know what sparked it, but Timmy is going NUTS this morning!!! Ive never seen him this playful, maybe he saw our turkey in the freezer and got scared and is being cute, Ha Ha!!! He is just happy and jumping around, heres what hes been into just since before daylight (he woke up before us): He is making every sound and saying all his words just as loud and as many times as he can, over and over and over..... He has destroyed 2 toys..... He Ripped the clasps off 2 windows... He got ahold of my camera (I dont want to talk about that)... He cracked a power receptacle cover....

from my experience....BE PATIENT AND TAKE YOUR TIME!!! Look at any of my threads here and ask anyone, I learned the hard way!! Ha Ha!!! Ive had Timmy going on 2 months (he is 4) and wasnt a speaker and bit. Well Ive made so much progress, and it is worth the wait and time invested! Timmy told me to shut up this morning a few times, so be ready for an attitude as well...Greys are as smart as us I think!! LOL Good luck and fire off questions as fast as you can...this is a good group of people!

There is one sound I wish he didnt know...... Everyone knows how loud a cockatiel's screech and screams can be, well, AMPLIFY that by 500 times and thats what Timmy does now! haha! He mimics my tiel at 4000 decibles! ughhhhhhhh! Also he "whimpers" just like my dog when she wants to go out, and it sounds exactly like it so that I have to go see who is making the noises!

I keep trying to figure Timmys sounds out too! Smart little fellas!!!

Same thing with timmy...he likes his seed/pellet mix and thats it! Grapes and apples are the best treat but thats it...cant wait to hear responses

Awwwww!! Im lucky cause if I try to rub Timmy, he simply bites me! But I do however LOVE to talk to him and miss it when I go to bed!! They have travel and vacation cages Barb, maybe u should get a "human bed cage" ??? just kidding

Barb, as bad as its killing me, I wont discuss my opinion on US politics and constitution right now...Ive had a couple cold beers and will be just too honest! LOLOLOL As far as president of Hammco, YES, he def has had alot of pull lately!!!!!

I wasnt really gonna rehome, I was just venting....I PROMISE! Ive always wanted a Grey and finally had a few extra bucks (that my wife didnt know about haha) to get one and this is it, its real and I have not only a Grey but TIMMY!!!!!!

Just to let yall know, Timmy's status has changed. He is no longer a regular run of the mill African Grey.....He posesses extreme skills and intuition, backed by mass intelligence! He is now classified an AFRICAN GREY SUPERHERO!!! I could see him saying the alphabet or maybe running for President on 2012! Who knows, he may figure out how to generate energy from his own dander or something!!! Im just proud of ole Timmy!!!!

Well, just a quick update. Timmys vocabulary is IMPRESSIVE!! prob 40-60 words and sentences, all mixed up. He does however have a very dirty mouth! haha He drops the "F bomb" alot, so his previous owners taught him all kinds of stuff!! He sounds just like my 1 year old copying her babbling and little girlie noises. Oh, also, he told my wife to "SHUT UP", hahahaha, she got a kick out of that!! This amazes me since his previous owners said he did not talk, just mimicked sounds and whistles.....

Timmy quivers alot too when I get close...he is still alive and seems happy so I think its OK! I am 1000 times the size of him-Id quiver if a giant was looking me in the eyes!
