  1. They all live happily ever after.
  2. It's on cable right now. Hubby is gone for the night so I have control of the TV. He loves our birds but he's not quite as nutsy as I am. The talking is exaggerated but the love of their person is not.
  3. I know it is not only fictitious but also highly exaggerated but I just LOVE this movie! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0125454/
  4. I forgot to mention that hubby is still allowed to be "the savior". When I was giving Neo his bath and he was hating every minute of it, he flew off and went right for hubby who did a step up and took him to his playstand.
  5. I can only tell you my limited experience. I got a baby TAG, four months old, on September 28th. My husband brought him home from the airport and from the moment he came in the house, I did pretty much everything with him. My husband held back because he knew I wanted this to be my bird and he was concerned it might bond with him. (I was not concerned.) He was able to scratch Neo's head and give him treats. A couple of weeks ago that changed. I'm not sure what did it but I think it was the day that my husband had the other two birds out and was interacting with them. So far those two birds are not part of Neo's "flock". They don't get along...yet. Now if he tries to pet Neo, he gets the ruffled feathers and beak up. He can still give treats and is slowly working to being able to pet him again. I told him he just has to be patient and keep trying to get his hand a little closer.
  6. The last two days I've been able to put the head loop on very easily and I have also slipped the left wing loop under the wing, worked it up in place and pulled it semi-tight. He HATED it yesterday, and hated it less today. He's actually making this easier than I ever thought it would be. He still tries to chew on the harness at every opportunity and I have to keep the stick well placed. I am feeling a lot better about this! Two days ago I wondered if I would ever be able to get the wing loop on because he will not let me raise his wing. So I stopped trying to lift it and just gently slid the strap under his wing. This was the easy wing since I'm right handed. When I try the right wing, I'll have to use my left hand so I'm going to be putting that off for awhile and just keep repeating what we already have acheived.
  7. Petsaretop is working but the banner function seems to be down. If I right click on your red X and select "open in new window" I get taken to your pet page (which is cool because the pictures are bigger and easier to enjoy!) Hopefully it will be fixed soon!
  8. I would also add to continue to offer treats. If he won't take it from your fingers, let him see you dropping it into his bowl. This helps to show him that you bring good things.
  9. I am going to be facing that situation in December and again in January or February. We also use a pet sitter. I hope Neo forgives me for leaving him!!
  10. I saw a video once on getting a bird to go in a carrier on their own but it would be time consuming. It involved leaving the carrier in a place they play in, putting treats in there, letting them go in and out on their own. Here is a link to the video:
  11. You won't hear that from me! LOL! You might hear complaints from him because I don't get up in the morning. But once the sun is up, he has all the reason to complain when I leave to play golf or shower or workout or.... I cannot put him on a schedule because I have none.
  12. Good for you Kevin! And congrats on your new baby. Your mind and your heart are in the right place.
  13. This is it. My hardest time of the day. I'm awake and ready to play and my baby is sleeping and I can't bother him. I must be hooked!
  14. Where is JillyBeanz? I've had two glasses of vino trying to catch up. Has she passed out already?
  15. Just remember that it is your Friday night already. We're still in the middle of the day. Give me a few hours and I'll catch up!
  16. Today I put the head loop on without any argument and while it was on, I got my fingers under one wing and lifted it. He didn't like that but he didn't do anything more than move away after I had it lifted for about three seconds. I'm sticking with the "slow and steady wins the race" school of training.
  17. Just another note on the banners: You can go back to your pets page and go back to the "get banner" button. You can add pictures, change pictures, change the background or whatever you want. The code stays the same so you don't have to do that part again. When you come back to this forum and refresh, the newly changed banner will appear.
  18. I tried to look it up at a leg band registry but I didn't get any results with that information. I did find this article on reading leg bands: http://www.ehow.com/how_5848512_bird-breeder-tag-number.html
  19. The progress you have made is actually pretty amazing considering that you have only had him for one week! Congratulations! It might seem like it's going slow but in another 3 weeks, when he has been with you for a month, you are going to look back and this time and laugh.
  20. Go to this website: http://pets.aretop.com/ You can create your own pets page and then it has a link for creating your banner. Once that is done, you will have the code for pasting into your signature line on this forum.
  21. That is an absolutely fantastic picture! Beautiful bird.
