Good awareness post. It's a shame that it is so hard to get messages like this out to the general public.
-
I am pretty sure my neighbors think I live with other people. Nope, just constantly talking to my bird all the time. It must be funny to hear me babbling on out the windows, "Who's a good boy, yes you are baby ,yeah. I love you." and to never see me come out with anyone or a baby or something. Never be afraid to talk to em all the time though. Good luck too!!

Whoa whoa whoa....if you haven't heard...a truce has been called here. Please check you PM's Jill.
-
LOL...Okay...I had to laugh at that one. I don't win. Okay..we can all go back to being nice now. Cheers. JayD, you are a great guy, and this all got out of hand.

With the way you lit the guy up for rehoming the macaws, I find it most amazing that you took such offense to my suggestion. I didn't feel like I disrespected anyone with my post, and you knwo why...because I didn't. No more than you did with your repeated posts flaming the guy about rehoming the macaws. Along with others. Maybe you should go back and read them. I merely took it one step further to say that if he would be rehoming his grey anytime soon, associating with this community and posting here about it would not be welcomed. If that is a stretch...then I am sorry. However, to wake up to the big witch hunt that went on over night was unreal. You guys want drama? Well here ya go. I was willing to leave it alone after your posts JayD, but the rest were just rediculous and uncalled for. You want to take shots at me and tell me that I am some kind of bully and say that I don't know about my bird and my commitment to him...you are going to get my attention. "In the last couple of weeks I've seen new/young members act like they know everything and show disrespect to some of the most knowledgeable bird people on earth, your post is a good example" What? Now this doesn't even make sense. In fact, I thought I was actually backing up what you said regarding rehoming birds. Why do you carry on with this if you want it to stop. Jeez.
-
Goodness...you just never know what is going to push peoples buttons. I would say that those who responded so negatively to my post got the worng idea and would like some drama. I mertely do not want to hear about rehoming bird due to being a moron. Sorry, that is my opinion and I stick to it. And regardless of where you thinkI am with my bird, I at least understand I have made a commitment and will stick to it. Sorry if I offended you. Jeez..sometimes I don't know what gets into people on this forum. If that was bullying, I think we need to grow some skin. You all are stirring up waayyyy too much over my post. In addition, I do not think my 'suggestion' was such a bad one given the way we all lit him up for rehoming the Macaws in what...a day? "A witch...a witch!!" Sound familiar?

Spock...you rule!

Thank you Jules...he loves it...best investment I ever made. And thanks for reading my post

Gonna order one of the collapseable ones tomorrow. My baby is gonna get around.

The strangest thing just happened. Issac started flying around and doing his battle cry. Raaawwwwk. He was flying back and forth swooping and diving. There was a spider on the wall, I wonder if that got him going. But it was strange...anyone ever see this?
-
It's okay. I just don't need to hear about rehomed Greys, unless it's someone doing the taking in and not the rehoming.
-
*Ducks* Goodness. I'll come back later. Okay!!!!!! Note the BOLD LETTERS!
-
Yeah...it looks like the more economic travel cages are going to work for me, probably a collapseable one. I just want to get him out and take him to different locations to see other people. And you can be sure I will fasten his seat belt. LOL...look at Issac....."Oh...get my good side"
-
This just sucks. Sorry. I hate threads like this. I was too wondering about how on earth you could have had a Grey for a little over a week and be welcoming two more Macaws home. I fear for how you will handle the dynamics of your Grey as you are tried by the many things they do as they grow. It is going to take patience. I hope you have that much. If you end up rehoming your Grey, just resign from this site, and do not tell us.

These are great! Issac was working on one for close to a half hour last night. With this particular one, he was trying to get into the nut at the center. He succeeded! If you have ever tried to crack one of these babies, you'd know just what an achievement that is. Plam nuts = Good.

Thank you all for the links and suggestions. I do like to collapseable cages as they store easy as well as provide ample space. And, they are under 100 bucks which is also nice. I will most likely start with something like that as I am not sure I want to drop 250 bucks on a back carrier. Thank you JayD for the link regarding various cage types, very informative

From what I have heard, they do not forget you. That is for certain. Will you get to visit them often? Some things you just cannot do much about. If you have to be apart, that is just the way it is, and I cannot be sure that there is a way to say how your birds will react. I would sugar coat it, but I am pretty sure that is the way it is.

The Pak O Bird's look nice. Really nice. However, a bit expensive...looks like i am looking at about 239.00 to get a good sized one. I will consider it. But will also entertain lower cost solutions as well.

So I am looking for the community's recommendations for good travel cages. While he is refusing his harness, I still want him to see the world and maybe socialize him a bit more. So help me determine the best mode of transportation for my baby Issac. He will thank you for it. Cheers

Training to POOP on command is NOT a good idea..

Ahh don't you just love that? LOL. Ohh and that splatter factor...SWEEEET!! -
Yes...Battlestar is the right answer for sure. I only bring that up because my friend brought every episode that ever existed over to me in a 200GB package for me to watch...I am hooked. Anyway...yes..when they find something they like...they go crazy.

Toight I gave him 7 fresh boiled noodles. He left zero...nothing...I mean NOTHING! No idea how he did it...but they are vapor my friend...this is how much Issac likes this!!! At MOST...1% dropped...dead...serious. They aren't small noodles..wiki them if yer not sure of the size..but zero doubt...he loves em...and I feel if I had put 30 out there..he'd a frackin gobbled em.! (geek hint..frack comes from the series I am watching..what series is it?) Seven Penne Noodles Were Here.... .

When I said baby food...I meant birdie formula. He still likes this very much. In fact...he is tweeting as I type for his eveing serving. I will try the yams though. Thank you.

That's an easy one, the red tailed hawk is seen a lot here in California. Okay, what is the loudest parrot breed?
