The demo does not show how many cubic feet of air per minute is moved, makes me wonder about the air flow volume. But it looks safer and an elegant design.

You could convert the pool to a Koi pond, you might need a place to find a little Serenity. Here is a converted pool to pond. Love the caging it looks like what the Sanctuary uses. More images for convert swimming pool to koi pond

Add Dingos and Raccoon Dogs to your list please Dave. Living with 6 Greys all from different backgrounds and expepriences each one is unique. Anyone can rub Smartee Pants head but he only really loves my youngest son, Pookie and Whisper dote on me but Pookie will interact with most people can bite and will defend her cage. Smokey Joe is nervous high strung a wonderful talker and can be depended upon to bite most of us but he adores our middle son. Our guest Greys Nikki and Princess are great talkers solicit head rubs which Princess enjoys and Nikki just wants to lure you in for a tissue sample removal.

I have met and worked with some Gold Crowned conures and they are among my favorite conures, less aggressive than most of the others.

Hard choices maybe with out cell phone when I am at home and with out internet when on the road. Would you rather be in Earthquake country, Tornado ally or where Hurricanes visit?

It must in some way give that feeling of flying, but as hubby did a stint as a volunteer Fire Fighter and EMT I would never want any one to ride a motor cycle especially not birds. Brains just don't go back in a busted cranium. Had a cyclist loose it in front of us luckily it was in a parking lot, laid it down on himself when he lost control on the wet pavement. Scary stuff

I think it is a bit of both you teaching and him responding.

What talent he has, does he enjoy the accapella singing show?

New Member Here, Looking for Advice on Weaning Pellets

He is adorable and it sounds like you are on the right track but I believe he will let you know when he looses interest in formula feedings himself. -
It is a great big world and we are a small corner of even the e-verse. Lets hope we can pull it together and keep on supporting the birds we live with and to make a difference for those in the wild we can as individuals donate money to preserve natural habitats and we can help inspire legislation to protect any species we care about. There is so much wrong with our world and still so much beauty and life to care for and protect. ok off my soapbox now.

Glad you found us and joined in the Grey life. Scooty has that amused look in his photo, they are so good at overcoming things that would give us a hard time.

Great questions-At our house none of the birds came to us a s babies. Some arrived plucked, some arrived full feathered, some are nervous, some are laid back, some are aggressive. All are good eaters the ones who are most aggressive get the least out of cage time. All have toys and stuff to destroy-favorites are cardboard boxes. The ones who are safe out of cage together get the most time outside of the cage. The ones with the least out time are Smokey Joe and Nikki, Joe only does very little feather picking once in a while around his neck-very selective about who he trusts, nervous bird can be aggressive. Nikki is very aggressive both with humans and most other birds. He and Princess share a Macaw size cage, she is easy to handle and both are rather well plucked. Pookie who I adopted she is my first Grey came with bare legs belly & chest. Now she has many more feathers on her abdomen and legs many of which came in Red but still does a little nervous picking around her neck. She was 21 years old when I adopted her and she came from a several bird home where they were loved and cared for very well. The people involved had some health issues and surrendered a few of their nicer birds to a rescue friend of mine where I met her and we bonded right away. Smartee Pants TAG was found next to a backyard swimming pool dehydrated and has an old smokers cough and a bent leg, not able to locate his people after 3 years well feathered and bonded to our youngest son Pants is very fearless. They all share the house with 2 dogs, some cats, a E2 some keets and Tiels. All seem to entertain each other and share the space as well as it can be expected. Our schedule varies often I work half days but my arrival time back home is not a constant. We are a family of 4 humans right now and every one has a different schedule, in and out all the time. The birds are in front of the backyard facing windows where the wild bird feeders are so always something to watch. We have rescued and rehomed other Greys some of who had plucking issues and some not.

IRN's tend to be a bit flighty and are more of a birds bird than a Grey. They can learn a lot but with out frequent handling they tend to be more stand offish. Each Grey is different in how they perceive other birds, pets and even humans. Hard to predict what this birds reaction would be especially as you have not yet met this bird and have no knowledge of it's world view at this point. If you read through some of these forums you will find several of us have multiple birds of varying types. Some greys on here enjoy their company, some are jealous or angry.

Smokey Joe here, my pet peeve is fingers entering my domain they should be removed or I will remove them myself a small piece at a time. Unless they belong to my one acceptable human who is not the one to deliver food or provide cleaning services.

It looks as though it may have resulted from rubbing on a cage bar or just playing too hard. If he is not showing any sensitivity as far as plying eating and drinking it should eventually grow out. Do keep an eye on it and his behavior for any changes.

My question is did your vet do Skin swabs or scrapings? Did your Vet do any blood work or Radiographs (x-rays) before prescribing the meds?

Whisper has perfected the Cockatiel whistle so well the Tiel in the bathroom who is recovering from surgery responds every time. She has also perfected the pop top sound, Sparrow talk, human sneeze, poring any liquid and opening of a velcro closure. Not into speech but great at sound effects. -
You are a wonder, good job girl!

Welcome aboard glad to hear you are doing the research to make this decision a happy one and very nice that you are wanting a rescue Grey. The cage bars may not be sturdy enough to hold up for very long on that model. I have one that my Tiels and Keets share. The larger beaked bird can bend those narrow bars fairly easily.
