  1. Nice updater and she is a cutie!
  2. If the air is dry in your home perhaps giving him a spray misting with clean water or Aloe juice not the gel can be soothing if he is plucking feathers. May I ask what he is eating?
  3. Once they are taken from the wild a reintroduction is difficult due to not knowing where they were taken and possible exposure to disease from the time in a crowded captive situation. We do not live in an ideal world and we all contribute one way or another to both the good and the bad knowingly or unknowingly with every choice we make. We can choose as best as our information allows trying for a balance and if changes are to happen it is up to each of us to make a difference. For this bird perhaps going into a home where he/she is wanted and the person is trying to do the best by the bird it may be the best outcome for this individual bird in these circumstances rather than the outcome for the many. Just my 2cents worth.
  4. Maybe a soft toy to cuddle up with some birds enjoy that, or a huddle hut thingy. Definitely talk to her, explain that her friend has passed over the bridge and is peaceful and suffering no pain.
  5. What a shame we have no video of the backwards dancing with Too's.
  6. Always enjoy your videos and I knew you and she would get past that slow start!
  7. These beautiful horses are true athletes, have admired them since I was a child and saw the movie about saving them during WW2.
  8. ooooH We are all making the big eyes at that pile of bright stuff, it might attack use caution! Pookie here I know Joe bird would fall off his perch if our human brought that stuff near him.
  9. Too's truly are the drama queens of the parrot world but why do they insist on proving it? Has Koko revealed her age?
  10. It appears that she no longer wants the formula so that would indicate she has weaned herself. She may backslide and ask for a formula feeding and it is ok to give it to her if she indicates such.
  11. She is exceptional in her usage of our language, if we only spoke theirs so well.
  12. Not at all, just a little clearing of the air after a little dust up. I think that we like our Grey birds can be a sensitive lot and occasionally give or take one of those unexpected bites that hurts, surprises and bequeaths trust issues for a while.
  13. Sweet memories and sad for your loss and sorrow.
  14. So very true, trying to promote a little kindness and a tempered response would be a gift to aid those who are in need of any assistance we can offer. Good job Birdhouse!
  15. Soon she will be climbing those stairs, look out world. I love the sound of the Donald Duck communication attempt as well.
  16. Hostility is never a welcome thing here, the idea is to help the birds and their people not judge them. Easy to jump to a conclusion with out all the information and easy to misinterpret people written words so forgive and keep moving forward. I am not directing this at anyone just in general.
  17. That little Sunny brightness will always give you a little joy once the pain has passed.
  18. That is a fun one, sexing by speculation.
  19. You can also step up from behind, sometimes that is easier less threatening and keep your hand an wrist low do not approach from above. Just reward any positive movement even if it is little rock forward or backwards which ever angle you are working with. If he bites every time and you cannot help but react that will just reinforce the bite. So step back and give him some space for a while you might want to join the Yahoo clicker training group they are a helpful lot. Meanwhile if he needs a vet visit just towel him as smoothly and with as little uproar as possible. He will pout for a while but he will get that visit.
  20. Sterling Jayd did care deeply about the birds but perhaps not so much about peoples feelings. Neither here nor there just a response. Face book will time out as well already the younger crowd is leaving for Pintrest and other forms of contact.
  21. We thank him for his honest opinion, and as has been mentioned we have no way of knowing if people post honestly about their experience and background. For the most part we can tell from our own experiences whether someone is offering sound advice. I would like to believe that most of us are an honest open group but there is room for doubt. I personally do not like opening my life to others (big brother syndrome) but I will freely offer advice and answer questions to the best of my ability. I do have quite a bit of experience with many kinds of animals and birds from childhood on. But I like Dave am not thinking that would be the greatest idea. Perhaps we could make the stickies more exciting and colorful so they might garner more attention?
  22. The name Clary would work well also, these birds are full of surprises.
