monkey nuts? I know sunflower seeds aren't the best...and when I go get Jasper's food, I say without sunflower seeds...because they have both? (even though they tell you that sunflower seeds aren't the best) I always thought that was strange.

Sugar cane? cool! Do you have a picture? Because I also don't even know what it looks like... My last impulse buy was for me. Candy...because it's a crappy day and I needed some sugar!

I did something this MORNING to upset jasper. totally my fault...but after that, he was exteremly growly. I mean, like to everything. His toys, me, ha, well, except for my husband. Never pissy with him! I'm like way to embarrased to tell you what I did...but I will because you're probably curious now! I had this 'ring of nuts' and he was on his T-stand, sitting on his bowl. Well, the only way I thought of putting it on the T-stand was over the bowl...well, me being feather brained, I decided that he might want it right now. Which, he takes forever to warm up to new toys...so what was I thinking? I put it over him to get it over the bowl. Well, as you can imagine, that didn't go so well. And 12 hours later, he's finaly over it, after 'forcing' me to scratch his head. HAHA...yea, I'm trained...but it was me who initated it.

Jasper sleeps on his cement perch OR on his place where the food bowls go... I don't cover him... I think one of things with covering them is the darkness factor and helps them sleep and not be so cranky. I however don't. Jasper has a bed time and sleeps in our room. But comes out on his t-stand during the day.

The first time I heard Jasper do that, I freaked out too. I called DH at work and of course, he's the level headed one, and by the time I was off the phone jasper was looking all smug! Silly things!

hi! I didn't read through all...have a meeting in a few minutes, but I wanted to say... I got 'parrots for dummies' book at barnes and noble's...AWESOME book. What is the shaft color of the feathers he's picking? Are they white or red? I got a shower perch that totally gets my birds soaked. Are his chest feathers quivering? My birds do that after their shower. Remember, reward for GOOD behavior, ignore bad behavior!!!! And go get that book...it was one of the best things I did!

LOL! That's funny! Oh...yes, I go to a kineologist (sp?) and he is absolutely WONDERFUL...I had hip, back, arm, wrist pain that no one knew why or could help me. It was getting to the point of where I couldn't type! He fixed it without pills, x-rays or anything that stuff. They are kind of like a chiropractor, but they work with the muscles too. I highly recommend it next time you're in pain

Jax (Lorikeet) is soo vocal and very active that one night, he put himself to bed early and was not vocal or active. FREAKED ME OUT!!!! But the next day he was back to normal. Thanks for asking this, I was wondering about it myself!
