1. awe...so cute. Glad you got a picture!!!
2. OH MY GOODNESS!!! I want to pick her up and snuggle and squeeze her and pinch her adorable cheek!!! Thank you for sharing and you must keep the pictures coming.
3. I had a lori who would do that all the time! just sit there and bang, bang, bang...I think he did it because he liked the nose. Now, Jasper our grey, beak wipes on his bowl...even when he doesn't have a messy face... Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you're ok She might just like the sound?!?
4. WOOT!!! Way to go Tobie and your red butt!!! Now, don't give your momma to much of a heart attack!
5. way to cute! thanks for sharing!

7. And here I am constantly worried about the house being a bit to cold!

It's got it's feathers puffed out and wings out and was walking around, shivering. I guess where I'm from when it's snowy, there is a harsh freezing cold wind and I don't know how our birds do it here much less a bird who isn't used to it!

Post edited by: Jingles, at: 2010/01/28 00:45
9. Tango is beautiful!!! I'm so glad you have him and I feel so bad for the other people who were terrified of him! They are such wonderful creatures!!! I have a umbrella and I just sit and cuddle with her!!!
10. i am not sure, but i wanted to wish you good luck!
11. Oh yes, karma to you! Congrats on your baby!
12. Congrats on getting a CAG!!! They really are wonderful little guys and I am oh so in love with mine Does his sleep cage have a perch in it? (we don't have sleep cages, that's why I'm asking) Could be that he feels more comfortable on the bottom rather than on a perch for right now. Especially since you said he fell a few times? I bet a more experienced owner will jump in on that question, because I'm just guessing! We use a seed (no sunflower seeds)/dried fruit mix and Zupreme parrot food as well. Right now, I would stay with what he was on where you got him...then, start off slow and mix until you get him on what you want him on. With toys, i would have a big variety of toys...you might have to show him how to play with them... I believe the more you expose them to different toys, the better! I think if he's comfortable with being handled, to go ahead and handle him! Sounds like you have him out of his cage for a good amount of time! You'll start to learn when they've had enough and want to be left alone...you're both new to each other, but you'll get there! Again, congrats on your new baby!!! They are so much fun
13. oh the wonderful honey moon period! and welcome to the real Abby!!!! With Jasper, it's like, oh good grief, ok, I'll leave you alone! They get pissy like humans do and want their alone time... The trick is to figure out those times before you get bit! I have come to say 'that was my fault' (sometimes those times are obvious...other times, not so much) Good luck!
14. oh my! Thank goodness you have him now! Sunflower seeds and neglect for 2 years? how awful! my cockatoo is molting right now and is... GRUMPY! lol... so, maybe on top of everything else if he's molting...he could just be more ... um... looking for a word right now! nervous? no...but something like that. He was like, I'm finally out of that blasted cage!!!! no wonder he didn't want to go back. Is he fully flighted? Or clipped? maybe open the door and let him come out on his own...just kinda do your thing with the door open and he might come out... With the toys, i found I had to put the toy outside of the cage (like on the dresser which is 1 foot away from the cage) and leave it there for a week...then I could move it closer and finally put it in the cage. You might have to mock playing with the toy for him to go...oh, that's what I do with that! Good luck! like Summerc25 said...once he comes around, he'll be so much happier.
15. Thank you for posting this! Please don't beat yourself up...they don't call them 'accidents' for nothing. Glad she's doing better!
16. great pictures!!! Thanks for sharing!
17. looks good! thanks for sharing!
18. lol! I'm not laughing for you finger, it's just cute, I could see you chasing him around the house! HAHA!
19. Congrats!!!! She is absolutely beautiful! So, if you mind my asking, did she have a midwife and doula with her? I am going for my certification for being a doula... And I have say, YEA!!! that is sooo awesome that she got to experience a water birth at home! beautiful baby and grandma too!!!
20. so, excuse the stupid question...but i know you're not supposed to give dogs or cats chicken/turkey bones...but it's ok for birds? why is that? hum...i guess they do splinter wood...
21. is it a light switch? I had a bird that would make the light switch noise... although, ours was a squeaky noise...and I had thought someone was in the house, using the restroom!
22. wow! What a busy parront you are!!! Love the you tube videos! both my birds are just clumsy, clumsy, clumsy! Jasper just flys to the floor and walks over to me. My other bird, Bella, tried to fly at me the other, freaked me out and she did a crash landing.
23. luvparrots - that is sooo me. I have something like that, but it's just a perch...Jasper loves it. He just likes to sit there...or, he'll go grab a toy and take it back to his perch. It's hilarious to see him do this! Bella on the other hand...gets way to bored. She has go to have something to do all the time (cockatoo) so I will have to find something like this to keep her entertained!!!
