  1. Ha Ha! You need to "hover" again - it just says I'm rough!!!
  2. Obviously Friday sees the BIGGEST football tournament in the WORLD begin (that's a round ball my American friends!!!). Obviously it starts on Friday - but our first match (England) is on Saturday against of all people the USA!! Well, since we're not a patriotic nation and things like this start to stir patrionism a little, this little old lady is showing us EXACTLY how it should be done!!! COME ON ENGLAND!!!!
  3. Ooh, just read this - sorry you had the worry over Pepper's Poop! Glad all is okay x
  4. Ha Ha Ha!! That's okay then - phew, it was nearly difficult for me for a minute!! PS to everyone else - I know you haven't got a clue what we are on about - but we are very mysterious from these parts!!!!
  5. Ha Ha Ha!!! That's unbelievable! I love it!! I love the little tail too - mind you, if I wore something like that round here I'd be kicked around the town!!! I love it!!!
  6. Only you could think up something like this Janet!!!! How utterly amazing! Ana Grey looks so comfortable in her new "get up". Hey - perhaps I see a little business opportunity for you here......get it's patent!!! Amazing!!!
  7. Oh, go on, laugh at my expense!!! And as for the worms........I have to wrestle one from the mouth of the crisp packet - I don't care if he was taking it to feed his potatolets - that poor worm!!! The funny thing was, I can just picture how "cool" I tried to make myself look when I was picking up the crisp packet - because obviously at 10pm at night I often go out litter collecting!!! Let's hope the neighbours weren't looking!!!
  8. Oh my goodness! How cute! I love photos like this as I never saw Harvey this young! Thanks for sharing - absolutely gorgeous
  9. I've never been happier to hear someone is putting ON weight! We usually celebrate weight loss!! Go on Spock - you can add a bit more!!
  10. Isaac and I have something in common......apart from my formula is Californian Chardonnay!!!
  11. On Sunday night I was making my way to bed and I went to close the curtains - across the road, in the gutter I could see a poor blackbird flailing and flapping about. There were only two reasons it was injured - hit by a car or hurt by a cat. There are lots of babies around at the minute, but I could see from the size of this bird that it was either the mother or father. Anyway, I'm not sure what I was going to do with this bird, but I ran downstairs and went outside and crossed the road to the other side where the poor thing was....... to discover it was a BLACK POTATO CHIP PACKET!!!! Of course it was flailing about - it was slightly windy and was rocking to and fro! So, let it go down in history - I tried to rescue a "Sensations" crisp packet!!!!
  12. That is so sad - the poor little mammy and daddy What a nice BF you have if he buries them though
  13. I was flicking around the internet and found this really interesting list detailing our greys used in famous literature! I was most surprised about the Dr Doolittle one!!! * The character 'Gerard' in Michael Crichton's novel, Next, is a transgenic African Grey. * The character 'Madison' in Dick King Smith's novel Harry's Mad is an African Grey Parrot. * The character 'Methuselah' in Barbara Kingsolver's novel The Poisonwood Bible is an African Grey Parrot. * Friendly Feathers: Life with Pierre, an African Grey Parrot by Dr. Fran Smith, illustrated by Deon Matzen, ISBN 978-0-615-22232-5 * The bird owned by the character 'Linus Steinman' in The Final Solution (novel) by Michael Chabon is an African Grey. * In the book, We'll Always Have Parrots by Donna Andrews, an African grey parrot helps protagonist Meg Lanslow nab the bad guy. * In the book, Sick as a Parrot by Liz Evans, the parrot in the title is an African grey parrot. * Cat Marsala, the main protagonist in "Hard Christmas" by Barbara D'Amato, has a pet African grey parrot named Long John Silver. * In the book Somebody Else's Summer, Bilbo was an African Grey Parrot who belonged to George Carr. * The character 'Polynesia' in Hugh Lofting's Doctor Dolittle children's novels is an African Grey Parrot.
  14. Ah, Isaac is coming on leaps and bounds bless him. I only know what I've read about the formula (as I've never fed it) and everyone says just to let them continue until they refuse it - and in Isaac's case it sounds as if that isn't going to be any time soon and he just likes the taste! I'm sure it's causing him no harm - so let him enjoy it
  15. Ha Ha Ha! You're quite right Julie - outrageous behaviour for our leader!!!! Now, where do we tuck that money - I can't see his spangly knickers
  16. Oh Delma - you're right - you're not very talented! That looks like something I would make!!! All it needs is a scary face drawn in and George will pack his bags and leave!! Just a little advice though - DON'T GO SHOWING IT TO THE BABY!!! Ah, only joking 10/10 for effort - I can't make a thing, so you've gone one step further than I ever could......and even braver by posting a picture!!! Great - love it!!
  17. There's quite a few people - I think Sheila (She) has Charlie chipped and definitely Janet (Luvparrots) has Ana Grey chipped. I'm sure they'll be along to add support to the chipping of greys
  18. Hi There ~ I don't have Harvey chipped, and only for the reason that I don't feel anybody around here (home, not this forum!!!) would give two hoots if they saw an escaped bird - I don't think they'd try to retrieve it and I don't think they'd think to take it for scanning (unlike a cat or a dog). Proving ownership I wouldn't have thought would cause a dispute round here either if someone did find him. That's my only reasoning - but I do know lots of other members have theirs chipped and I thoroughly understand their reasons for this. Harvey used to be insured with http://www.exoticdirect.co.uk when I first got him, but I decided that should the unthinkable happen and I wasn't in a position to pay the HUGE bill that would ensue, then I would just max out the credit cards - nothing's too much for my baby - but at £14 a month I thought it was a bit steep.
  19. I've never seen this before (but it seems that it is a local road awareness video for one of the Southern counties of England) - it is so heart stopping, and it amazes me how many people don't wear seat belts (here in the UK it is law that belts are worn in all seats of the car). The old advert from when I was a kid when it became law to wear them was simple "clunk, click" - great reminder Judy ~ thanks so much

    Towels

We've played "peek a boo" with a HUGE blanket ever since I got Harvey. I can actually just cover him and leave him to find his own way out - he doesn't give a hoot and will often stay under the blanket! I think it's best if you start as early as you can. But, on the other hand, the vets at my practice are so professional that they are able to handle birds with utmost precision, in that the bird hardly knows it's going to happen, then obviously once their heads are covered they go quiet and don't struggle anyway - but in any case - I've still tried to prepare Harvey for the inevitable. So, just keep up the role play - it'll help in the long term
  21. Ah, poor soul (sole) Ha Ha Ha Ha! That poor tortoise will be scarred for life now - I've heard of crocodile shoes and leather shoes, but tortoise shoes - nah, doesn't quite work!!! Thanks for sharing x
  22. I've never heard of it too - but love action/fantasy and especially 3D films! I'll keep a look out - but our films are so far behind the US, we'll probably get 3D when you are enjoying it in 10D!!
  23. I'm enjoying this series Jay - and the description is so correct! They are charming - well, most of the time Unbelievable about the Egyptians - who would have thought it!! So, it wasn't just ugly cats!
  24. Great video of Ozzie ~ hope you bring some more to the forum! Hope you enjoy it here :)
