Yes, there's no picture - I can't work out the technical jargon ~ I will though! My name is Jill, I have a CAG called Harvey whom I hope will keep you amused with his antics (believe you me, there are plenty to reel off). He's 22 months old and will be lucky to live to his 2nd birthday if he doesn't quit chewing the top of my door frames (a favourite past time). I hope to make some new friends (and perhaps some old ones) and I'm looking forward to getting stuck in and sharing my expertise (ha ha - not!!!!)! Laters xx

I was that person who asked why FredGrey had chosen to post his first comment in that thread and don't really see why this is such a problem. We regularly ask new members who post in other rooms other than the "Welcome Room" to go and introduce themselves and that is exactly what I asked him to do. I don't want anybody to be ashamed on my behalf, and therefore I shall do exactly what is asked of me and leave. I can't believe how petty and ridiculous this has become. I will say, that over the past year and a bit I have enjoyed my time here - but I really don't need such hassle over pretty menial and unimportant things at the moment, there's more to life than this place.

Ha Ha! Ever the optimist!!! But, alas, probably and absolutely correct!!! Michael always adopts Spain as his team for some unknown reason!!! So, hopefully Spain may do well past the qualifying and I might get to see them on my hollies!!! Woohooo!!! Roll on 3 July!!! -

One of my budgies did this ~ and this one did turn out to be a "she" and laid an egg (unfertilised of course)!! It was so sad when I had to take it off her She really pined for it - but I was advised to remove it. Hey presto, she was good to go again in a few days. Hopefully Argyle is just moving furniture though!

Paul, since Harvey decided that the harness had been sent from the devil, this is how he's been outside with us too. I know it's really frustrating when you can't have them on their harnesses, but I think Harvey actually feels safer in his cage than he does on his T-stand on his harness! He will be quite vocal and will eat and play in his cage - whereas on the T-stand he does just that - stands! Great pictures - but one question totally un-parrot related - PLEASE TELL ME YOU PLANTED THOSE PALMS THIS YEAR!!! Mine died during the snow and ice!!!

I've got a box in the garage with Harvey's "rotational" toys in - and the ones that he "kills" I throw the bits in the bottom - you have given me inspiration to "create a monster" - well, not really - it'll be a bit leather with some wooden things and beads attached - Harvey probably won't even look at it!!!!

Ah, bless - did it manage to get to the other side? -
Hi Christine, welcome to our family ~ hope you enjoy it here! Dolly sounds like a right one! I have a friend whose uncle died recently and their AG is 45 and speaks in her uncle's voice - they found it really creepy at first - but now find it an incredible comfort. I can't wait to hear more about you all. I found this extremely helpful in posting picture - hope it helps! http://www.greyforums.net/forums/the-photography-room/89533-how-to-post-picturesphoto-tuturial.html

The Brazilians are soooo good though! You can see them playing on every bit of waste land, in every street, on the beach etc when you are there - it is incredible. Little toddlers are actively encouraged to start kicking the ball - the skill in the kids is unbelievable! The Brazilian football players are so admired and it keeps the kids off the (sometimes) extremely dangerous streets. I love watching the professionals for their skills - brilliant!!! -
Brilliant! Even I could manage that (I think)! Thanks for sharing - it's a great use of bits and pieces!!!

Oh my goodness!!!! That little gorgeous cockatiel must have known if it landed in your garden he wouldn't be ignored. How lucky he was he found you ~ all that space in Virginia and he lands in YOUR GARDEN!! I have to say, if I were a little, lonely, hungry cockatiel I would find my way to you Wait till it finds it voice though - the noise.........!!!!!

Finally! A lover of the great game!!! Ha Ha!! I kind of agree with you Julie ~ especially after watching the friendly on Wednesday night - they were playing a team probably equivalent to Torquay ~ and they were absolutely pants!! Still, it's an excuse for a beer or two in the afternoon!!! Ha Ha Ha! To use a line from our World Cup Anthem "Come and Have a Go if you Think You're Hard Enough"!!!! And Janet - IT'S FOOTBALL - NOT SOCCER!!!!! -
Oh bless her Debbie ~ she's just so lucky you found her - how long has Chocko been with you now? What a little so and so! Parrots sticking their tongues out at each other - whatever next!!!!

The World Cup!!!! Football (or as the folks from the U S of A like to call it - in my best American accent) SOCCER! Who gave them permission to change it's name anyway! FOOTBALL, FOOTIE!!! I take it you'll not be watching on Saturday then Judy!!! -
OMG! That is terrible!!!! It's like the two Ronnies, circa 1978!!!
-
Ha Ha Ha Ha!!! Actually - you're probably right!! I'd never thought of that!!! Here's the picture though Stephen!!!

Ah, bless her ~ Harvey's lost quite a few flight feathers over the last year (I have six of them), but you would never be able to tell, because like Dave says, the others have grown in to compensate for the dead ones. It's only the ones that are damaged and "snap" off that show when he is flying - there may be a little gap in his flight feathers, but not for long.

It's my mum! I've been telling her to get those teeth fixed - she can't afford it! Oh I've had to edit this! I have had a PM actually querying whether this is my mother, because she looks so much like someone called Elizabeth!! Well, my mother would be affronted - this woman is 25 years older than her ~ and yes, chaps, it is HRH Queen Elizabeth II !!! -
Oh Dee - it is so beautiful - I absolutely adore it. It is such a fitting tribute for our little chap. I can't wait to see it finished. Keep up the good work - Juno would have loved picking the stitching out, given half a chance!!!!

Lyn, how can you be so cruel, lulling poor venom into a false sense of security like that! Stop pretending that Milo will sit there like an angel (well, he might for the first few months, until he gets his eye on the mouse, the keyboard, the wires......)!! Great stand venom - make sure you give it a good scrub (but watch out for the dilutions of bleach etc) ~ I'm sure Milo will love it Thanks for sharing your bargain x

Mmm, not quite sure how to describe this, but here it goes! Harvey's newest "adventure" is to throw himself backwards (and I mean throw) into a "baby" position in the crook of my arm. Now, whilst this doesn't sound altogether mental (I hope), he only does this in one place at a certain time of the day. That one place is when I am sitting here, at my desk in the study and the time is when I have come in from work and I am checking my emails etc. He doesn't do this any other time (or place). He'll gladly let me "help" him into the lying position say, if we are sitting on the sofa, but when here in the study he honestly "throws" himself backwards like a petulant child on a supermarket floor!!! This is from a perching on my finger type of position! I have to be quick and luckily can read his body language and know he is going to do it, as I am sure he'd bang his head on the desk he is that stupid!! Does anyone else have any significant, timed or placed "moments" - or is Harvey just strange!!!

Hello from Wisconsin
JillyBeanz replied to Christopher Tequila's topic in Welcome & Introduction Room
Hi Christopher ~ so glad you found us and hats off to you for your two rescues! What a shame that Zoe has nearly had a home for every year of her short life - now hopefully she's found her "forever home". Sorry to hear about your too that you lost - PDD is a devastating condition Can't wait to hear more about you all ~ You'll have already been reading about our experts at rehoming - we have a few, alas I am not one and not able to offer any advice, but I am sure that they will be along shortly with their words of wisdom to help with your trust issues with Zoe. Hope you like it here
