1. Seems like Misty has good taste in electronics.Unless you wish to replace it.....I'd keep it out of sight.
2. I have 2 parrots. My pionus parrot's name is Sachi - Which means Colorful Wisdom, or Joy in japanese. Emma is my african grey - She came after Sachi. I've always loved the name Emma. Emma is an english name and also means Complete. For that reason it is very fitting because I do not intend to add to my feathered flock. I have my two favourite types of parrot.

Post edited by: lovethatgrey, at: 2009/03/11 17:19

4. Sounds like LOTS of PATIENCE and TIME is the key. Baby steps.B)
5. I have an african grey and pionus parrot. They co-exist in the same household but live in separate cages. I can hold both of them at the same time but there is no physical contact. My grey would love to be friendlier but the pionus doesn't like it one bit. I had my pionus before my grey.. so maybe that explains why. I must admit that I'm really glad that I have the both of them to keep each other company during the day when we are away, even if only from a distance.B)

Lychees

I love Lychees. I haven't seen them on the forbidden foods list so I think I will introduce them to my parrots after a quick call to the avian vet. Just to be on the safe side.

8. Here's a short video of her on her gym. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nhbl86X6Rc
9. Sounds like he is cleaning his beak.
10. Roudybush Harrison's Powertreats Dried fruit and nut mixture with NO sunflower seeds or peanuts. Avi cakes - Lafeber Nutriberries - Almonds, walnuts, pecans, pinenuts, Homemade oatmeal with ground of flax seed... not the instant kind. This is my BEST way to sneak in fruits and vegetables. She LOVES oatmeal. Every day she receives at least 2 fruits or vegetables. Apples, mangoes, papaya, pear, bananas, blueberries, kiwis, romaine lettuce, peas, corn on the cob, brocoli, celery, yellow beans, cauliflower, sweet potato, fennel, carrots, whole grain toast with organic peanut butter, ordinary unsalted ricecake That's it for now.
11. My parrots absolutely love their gym! It's a hanging one and also serves as an activity center beause I regularly rotate their favourite toys on it. They both like to sit on it and gaze out the window and watch the world go by. A playgym is pretty indispensable in my opinion. Here's a picture of Emma.
12. Thanks guys! It is pretty much a must have in this household and each girlie parrot has her very own because they don't like to share. For those who wish to purchase it for their parrots. I purchased it from this site. Emma owns the Large size. My pionus parrot has a medium for those who have smaller parrots too. http://motherpluckinbirdtoys.com/

Post edited by: lovethatgrey, at: 2009/03/09 23:23
13. He looks adorable and everything is fine. Some african greys have red on other parts of their body than just their tail. Charlie is a special TAG indeed.
14. My 2 parrots Emma and Sachi LOVE this swing. Below is a video of Emma having a blast. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VABU41KGFmE
15. How about getting her to step up on a stick instead.
16. I used to order from the Bird Safe store. I think they are located in Virginia and the service was very speedy. They have alot of Harrison's Products. http://www.birdsafestore.com/harrisons.aspx

Sachi

In addition to my African grey Emma, I have a beautiful Pionus parrot named Sachi. She will turn 2 years old in may. I met her when she was 11 weeks old. She is a real love sponge, loves to eat, and can never be mistaken for a pushover. Below is a picture as well as a video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IpYEFFI2n1k

Post edited by: lovethatgrey, at: 2009/03/09 04:43
19. Here's an update. The ear plugs are great.B) I will be using them regularly and often. There is no reason not to especially at certain times of the day. My Emma is a yakker. Her yakking isn't loud at all but her practising of new found sounds can be quite passionate to say the least. Sometimes I get the impression that she imagines that she is at the top of a mountain and she is just calling out so that she can hear her voice bounce off of my wooden floors.:woohoo: I really don't want to stifle her in any way so for now this seems to be a great compromise.

Post edited by: lovethatgrey, at: 2009/03/09 04:31
20. Eesh! I hate to hear about bad breeders. My parrot weaned at 23 weeks old. If I were you I would try to find someone who is very experienced at hand feeding so they can help you out as well as teach you how to hand feed asap. Hand feeding is not hard but it isn't easy either and there are so many factors that you must be aware of while handfeeding or you'll end up with a very sick parrot. Maybe get in touch with an avian vet so that they can teach you or put you in touch with an appropriate person.

Post edited by: lovethatgrey, at: 2009/03/09 04:19
