  1. That's hilarious and he looks adorable in the 2nd picture. You should make a calendar picture with that one!{Feel-good-00020114}
  2. It is made out of a soft yucca wood. My parrots were drawn to the toy from day 1. No fear and no boredom! I will be supplying them with bird kabobs every so often. Here is a video of Sachi when she received hers today.{Feel-good-00020114} http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4DC90-bo0w
  3. Emma is 15.5 months old. I sure will get her on video saying that one day. She said it a few times throughout the day and I actually kept repeating we're not eating oatmeal today. I wasn't worried before but I must admit that now hHer "talking" kind of makes me nervous and more self conscious now.
  4. Here's a video of Emma enjoying a favourite! I bought them both some new ones today! For those who are Canadian.. I purchased it online at this website. http://translate.google.com/translate?client=tmpg&hl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.lesjouetsrosie.com%2Ftopic%2Findex.html&langpair=fr|en http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJqFHdfAW2I Post edited by: lovethatgrey, at: 2009/06/26 22:57<br><br>Post edited by: lovethatgrey, at: 2009/06/27 01:12
  5. My little smarty feathered smarty pants has added two new phrases to her lingustic arsenal. I heard them for the first time today. They are both so crystal clear it is eerie and comical. 1)I'm going to make you some oatmeal!:pinch: 2)Clean up! Clean up! Clean up!!!!!!!! :blink:
  6. They will love it!{Feel-good-00020114}
  7. When I met her at 11 weeks old I was told that she was very quiet,timid and was always hiding behind her older sister. I'm starting to think that I met her at the right time to help shape who she is today. I am a first time african grey owner and never really had any hands on experience with african greys before Emma. Thanks to Emma I'm really starting to believe that a good start in life is so imperative - this means regular and frequent handling and interaction. When I think back to the african grey that I thought I was purchasing that day I first met her.. I really never imagined it would be like this today, nonetheless I am pretty thrilled. If Emma is an indication of what is possible.... all I can say to all of you african grey parronts is to never neglect or compromise on regular interaction and hands on contact with your grey. They really do need it in order to thrive.{Feel-good-00020114}<br><br>Post edited by: lovethatgrey, at: 2009/06/25 21:48
  8. Congrats! I'm thrilled for you and have heard that Ekkies are wonderful parrots. What a cute little boy!!!!!{Feel-good-00020114}
  9. Thanks guys... she does see to have quite the self confidence doesn't she?{Feel-good-00020114}
  10. {Feel-good-00020114}I must admit that I always imagined or assumed that african greys were reserved or had a stoic demeanor. That was fine with me and pretty much in line with why I was drawn to pionus parrots and african greys. I did not think that they could be so extroverted as in the case of Emma. Was I incorrect in thinking that this was the general case or did most of you think the same?
  11. Thank you everyone! She certainly is the little entertainer. Glad you enjoyed her too.{Feel-good-00020114} I always imagined or assumed that african greys were more reserved and stoic. I really did not expect Emma to be such and extrovert but I'm really glad it worked out this way.
  12. Here she is being very VOCAL and physical while playing. The orange toy with the leather strands is one of her favourite toys. I let her choose this toy herself when we went shopping and true enough it was a great purchase. She beats it, gives it kisses and tells it that she loves it all the time. {Feel-good-00020114} Sometimes I get the impression that she thinks she's all THAT. For some reason I always thought that african greys were more introverted and shy. I'm pretty reserved myself so I don't really know how Emma came to be such a "girls just wanna have fun" type of bird. :huh: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zuX01zqujMc
  13. yes I've seen those!!!!!!!!!!!!They are great!!{Feel-good-00020114}
  14. I also wanted to add that when you are both in the right frame of mind - stick training is a must!{Feel-good-00020114}
  15. Poor you and what a scary stressful ordeal. I would definitely make sure he gets at least 12 hours hours of pure darkeness and undisturbed sleep.
  16. :blush: Thanks guys! Thanks goodness she doesn't clam up all the time in from of the camera.. otherwise.. who would believe me.
  17. He is adorable! Emma enjoyed making noises along with him too!!{Feel-good-00020114}
  18. Emma's new phrase! {Feel-good-00020114} http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_2EqqI8JWE
  19. Is the Adventure pack that they sell today, larger than the ones they sold a year ago?
  20. She did look a little bothered didn't she?
  21. I have a medium sized boing for my pionus. It is pretty decent for an african grey but they get better exercise on the LARGE. You have 2 greys and other parrots so a Large sized is definitely a MUST for you.{Feel-good-00020114}
  22. Sometimes she seems like a feathered monkey to me.{Feel-good-00020114} http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uf15TvN5eg
  23. Ewww! Can't say that Emma's poop ever looked liked that.:sick: I'd monitor the situation and her diet. If it doesn't correct itself then a vet appointment is in order for sure.{Feel-good-00020114}
  24. Rikki's palatial estate looks great Talon!{Feel-good-00020114}
  25. {Feel-good-00020114}Here you two!!!!!! I found an american site that sells this toy. It isn't expensive at all. http://theperchstore.net/lubitotrchsm.html
