1. It is my opinion that all seed skirts are a waste of money.{Feel-good-00020114}
2. Roudybush makes a very good quality pellet. My Emma and Sachi eat this and Harrisons everyday.{Feel-good-00020114}
3. I definitely wouldn't let my parrots play with my keys. They are also VERY dirty.{Feel-good-00020114}

Post edited by: lovethatgrey, at: 2009/10/11 21:13
4. {Feel-good-00020114}Definitely NOT safe.
5. YUCK!!! :sick: Did you realize that after you tasted your OJ?:woohoo:
6. Your parrot is perfectly normal. You need to do a lot more reading about greys in order to understand him and his behaviour better. Ditto to what everyone else has posted and Being a parrot owner alsoe means being prepared to see and accept feathers every day and all year round. Why would you expect differently?

Post edited by: lovethatgrey, at: 2009/10/11 21:07
7. Definitely separate them and keep them separated. A parrot's cage is supposed to be their "safe haven" and their parrot owner is supposed to be their "protector".

Post edited by: lovethatgrey, at: 2009/10/11 21:07
8. Very sorry to hear about your booboos:( . Can't say that Emma is ever in a bad mood yet..:silly: Not even when molting. The only thing I have noticed is that certain area on her become a little bit more sensitive to being touched and she lets me know in a pretty gentle way.
9. It's ok to NOT like it but you'll have to get used to cleaning up after her everyday and very often. Your Pumpkin is not doing anything "abnormal". Welcome to the world of being a parrot owner.{Feel-good-00020114}

Post edited by: lovethatgrey, at: 2009/10/11 02:36
10. judygram wrote: Regurgitating CLEAR LIQUID does not sound right at all. You really should get in the habit of taking your parrot to the vet at least every 15 months. This should be done whether he seems fine or not. Sounds like he is very much due for a vet visit especially given the fact that his personality has changed quite a bit. In addition.. please take the necessary time to search and read through the numerous threads on here in order to help you understand your african grey. Your situation is not unique and giving up is not a solution. Post edited by: lovethatgrey, at: 2009/10/10 19:25

Post edited by: lovethatgrey, at: 2009/10/10 19:29
11. That's Hilarious! It looks like he's playing ostrich!{Feel-good-00020114}
12. Clipping is really a personal decision and only YOU are aware of your own personal reality as well as your limitations. It's good to read alot of the opinions and thoughts out there in order to make an informed decision. My parrots were clipped before I brought them home. I didn't have any choice in the matter and just put up with it because I knew it wasn't a permanent situation. Today neither of my parrots are clipped and they both fly very well and seem to enjoy it immensely. Personally, I'd like to NOT ever clip them if possible but I really don't know what the future holds. Perhaps one day I will feel that it is necessary. If you do decide not to clip.. you must always be on the alert and supervise your parrots when they are out of their cages. It is work and responsibility but the benefits are great for your parrots and for you. I can tell you what I appreciate about having parrots who can fly. I like that they are able to exercise their magnificent cardiovascular systems and chest muscles each and every day. I like that both of them can fly over to me when they are frightened. I like the fact that they can fly AWAY from one another when they feel bothered. Most of all I like the fact that they no longer crash into things because they are not able to fly. This is a big relief because I was often scared that they would injure themselves. On a side note but relevant to what Dave posted t... I had wanted an african grey not only because I was attracted to their intelligence but among that I also WANTED a parrot who was aloof. Emma is very far from aloof.. and not quite what I thought I was signing up for. Any thoughts about that? 13. This video was taken the morning after her first silly video. She's still a comic in the daytime.{Feel-good-00020114}
14. Thanks guys! I agree that she's quite the looney tune sometimes.{Feel-good-00020114}
15. Thanks guys. Yes... thank goodness it was only a nightmare. It's crazy how vivid it was. Usually I can't even remember my dreams.

17. Last night I had a very bad dream I dreamt that I brought Emma to the park in her Adventure pack. It was a warm sunny day. I left Emma for a few seconds to throw something in the trash can bit when a I turned around to go back to her I saw that she was locked up in a huge cage 10 feet away with another african grey. I ran to the cage to get her out but couldn't figure out which one was Emma. Both parrots looked identical and they both had the same docile temperment. I felt a huge sense of panic, stress and anguish. I couldn't figure out which one was my sweet Emma. Nor could I figure out how to unlock the cage. Thankfully I woke up and when I went to see my Emma she was so loving. I think she may have sensed that I was still shaken up. :blush:
18. You must keep persisting in the face of resistance. I also add Harrisons pellets to my warm mash. Some parrot owners add it to their birdie bread. Have you tried their birdie bread Jillybeanz?{Feel-good-00020114}
19. I took this video tonight and it really cracks me up. I took it just before bringing Emma to her cage for bedtime and it's hilarious to see what a monkey she can be just before bedtime. Hope you find it funny too. {Feel-good-00020114}
