  1. Thanks Dan. This article was very appreciated and very valuable to all of our parrots even the NoN african greys. Since purchasing my humidifier I feel that my skin is less dry too. I can only imagine that Emma and Sachi must feel so much more comfortable and they probably breathe better too. Here's a link regarding the humidifier that I purchased for those who are thinking of purchasing one. I am very pleased with it. http://www.germguardian.com/H2000-Ultrasonic-Humidifier-Details.html<br><br>Post edited by: lovethatgrey, at: 2009/12/16 02:34
  2. Wow. That's a nice picture even with the missing tail feathers. Ecko is quite a dark grey.
  3. {Feel-good-00020114}Today I purchased one of each as well as a hygrometer and am feeling pretty glad that I did. I haven't sneezed at all since I set them both up and the fids seem comfortable too. Do the rest of you have these too? I wish I had purchased these products sooner. I intend to run them 24 hours a day for all of us.
  4. Really wasn't expecting that at the end. What a silly. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qd2e-XtdSAk
  5. Foraging holes! {Feel-good-00020114}She likes the surprise treats. IT usually takes her much longer to retrieve the treat. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8FA1f7DMoE
  6. Glad everyone enjoyed Emma's latest video. :)
  7. Emma recently dicovered the above rhyme... she hasn't got it right yet but we're working on it.
  8. Every week I need to rotate swings and perches for cleaning. Emma LOVEs this swing.
  9. Perhaps this is a question to ask your avian vet if you really would like to know the science behind why scented products are harmful and toxic to parrots. Personally I am fine with knowing that it is harmful and don't feel the need to analyze this issue.
  10. I've managed to take another flying picture of Emma. I've also noticed that she has 2 broken feathers. It must have happened a while ago. I wonder when they will be replaced. On another note.. I think it's very funny how her toes just dangle in the air while she's flying. For some reason I had thought that maybe they'd be tucked in. Don't ask me why I thought that.
  11. Maybe she's in competition with Chatot. Either way.. it's good exercise for her beakie. Wish my parrots were bigger wood choppers.
  12. I really like this picture that I took today. It shows the more serious side of Emma and how regal looking she really does look in real life.
  13. {Feel-good-00020114}I couldn't find my other thread about this topic but seriously, I cannot say enough great things about this perch. I absolutely love this perch so I felt that it is my duty to write about them so that other parrots may benefit. I purchased my first 2 about a month ago and was so thrilled with the results that I picked up 2 more yesterday. It is an orthopedic/trimming perch and works very well with my girlies. For optimal results I recommend an Extra large for those with Greys and a Large sized one for pionus parrot sized parrots. The perch is wide enough so that they can stretch their little toes and has these little ridges on both sides.. similar to those that you'd find on real branches. The ridges do not look at all abrasive for the little paddings on their toys. I place this perch by their food and water dish. For US clients.. this perch can be purchased on the site below and the customer service is GREAT! http://www.pionusparrot.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=111_112&products_id=527&zenid=dbe0020c2dc0223d2d7963a2600702d6 For Canadian clients! http://www.lesjouetsrosie.com/achats/page36.html<br><br>Post edited by: lovethatgrey, at: 2009/11/21 15:22

I didn't realize I how much I could enjoy this. There is so much to learn about my camera and I'm sure I've merely touched the tip of the iceberg.

  16. I hope Dave will see this post and give his opinion. Is it possible that Emma may have NOT realized what flying was about even though she had the ability to fly before this weekend. She used to fly before but only when startled or out of impatience to be in the same room as me. All of a sudden I feel she's thrown me a curve ball and she is flying ALOT. :woohoo:<br><br>Post edited by: lovethatgrey, at: 2009/11/19 23:26
  17. All of a sudden I have a thirst to know more about my camera. Never attempted a flying pic before and trust me it isn't easy. Emma is speedy and Sachi even speedier.B) ]<br><br>Post edited by: lovethatgrey, at: 2009/11/19 22:38
  18. Thanks Luvparrots. Sachi is definitely a skilled flier. Emma will probably catch up very quickly. So how's Ana grey's flying lately?
  19. Thanks everybody! You are correct in that It's alot busier when your Parrots are flighted and Realize exactly what they can do with their wings.
  20. Perhaps it won't be as bad as you imagine. Emma really is a tidy eater and doesn't make much of a mess.
  21. and very popular with Emma. Here she is enjoying a bit this afternoon with some pumpkin and sunflower seeds. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mlmlMeaCwZ0 {Feel-good-00020114}
  22. Here's another video. I need to get a good one of Sachi. They both seem to only fly at ZOOM speed! :P http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=16dLDv-9L5E
  23. I don't use this product so I have no clue. I have a buddy who purchased some to use on her parrot and there were bits of aloe pieces in it and it gummed up her spray bottle. Is she purchasing the wrong kind? If so..please advised and possibly post a link so I can give it to her. Thanks in advance.
  24. You guys are very correct. Emma is very quick and truly having a very fun time flying. All of a sudden she has discovered a new favourite pastime. Sort of makes me wish I had an outdoor aviary the size of a ware house. If I place her in one spot and then run to the other end of the room… she always beats me to it. There's no point racing against my parrots. … I think they'll always get there faster. <br><br>Post edited by: lovethatgrey, at: 2009/11/18 19:49
  25. Well.. here you goes guys. She loves to fly and she loves being with me. Now she can be with me when ever she chooses too. Not sure if that's a good thing. I have no problem getting Emma to fly to me. For some reason .. I thought it would be alot more difficult. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qh4Gqtcr17A<br><br>Post edited by: lovethatgrey, at: 2009/11/17 18:09
