    Which Bird!?

The next bird I would want to get is a Caique! My mom is getting a black headed Caique in a couple weeks and I am really excited! I heard they are very cuddlely and playful. They are also very beautiful with bright colorful feathers! Good luck on your decision and please let us know what you choose.
  3. I am choosing to use the harness for Ecko. I am also worried about something happening but I am going to make sure nothing can happen when I take him out. Like if you see Chimay chewing on the harness make sure he doesn't make a hole so he could escape, if he does chew it good enough don't use it. Also make sure to always hold on to the harness at all times. Maybe get a longer leash and tie it around your wrist or something on you so you don't accidently let go. Make sure the harness is on correctly and securely too. I think the harness gives them more freedom than the adventure pack (only my opinion), that is why I choose to do the harness. I ordered a feather tether online and still waiting for it in the mail and I am really excited to use it with Ecko. Good luck, I hope it works out for you if you decide to use it.
  4. Thats great news! Kofi sounds like such a character! If you could catch his talking on video one day we would love to see.
  5. Pepper is beautiful! I know what you mean about taking pics of them, I love to take pics of my baby too, lol! Thanks for sharing
  6. Congrats on bringing Beau home! I bet you are so happy to finally have him! Can't wait to see some pics of Beau
  7. My 9 week old grey would def. win! Hahaha I have 2 cats in my house and one of my cats, Mia, came to sniff him when he was on the floor and Ecko bite her paw and she ran off. Now she won't go near him. My other cat, Misty loves to play with him and isn't scared of him at all, but she wouldn't hurt him either. Heres a pic of them playing with each other last night, Ecko was pulling the beaded string and Misty was swatting at the string it was soo cute! lol
  8. Yes I would spray her everyday if she is really dusty. Do you have any Aloe Vera Juice? This also helps. You can buy it at Walmart for $9 a gallon, its really good for their dry and itchy skin.
  9. Awww Sadie is beautiful! Thanks for the update! So are you keeping her? How old is she now?

  11. Awwww poor bud! I hope there is someone out there that can give Bud a forever home!
  12. Thanks guys. And Pat it cost $50 for the culture and sensitivity test. I also did the poop test and the vet said it looked normal.
  13. Ecko is 9 weeks old today and I have had him for 10 days now. He went to the vet last Wednesday and the culture and sensitivity test came back today and the vet said he has a bacteria infection. She said its common in babies and not to worry and that the meds will get rid of it. I started him on the medicine tonight and he gets it twice a day for 10 days. I don't understand how he could of gotten it. I make sure I clean the syringes I feed him with really good. What else could have caused this? I was really worried but the vet reassured me. Other than that he is doing great. He is so playful and loves to play with his toys. He climbs all over his cage and loves to flap his wings a lot. Today my boyfriend had him on the floor and he was flapping away and he said he was almost off the ground. When do babies usually learn how to fly?? He is on 2 feedings a day now and he has started to eat alot of his pellet mix and fruits and veggie mix. I started to sprout sunflower seeds for him because my vet recommended I do that and he absolutely loves them! I take the shell off for him and he eats the whole sprouted seed. It is so cute how much he likes it. Anyways, just thought I'd give an update on Ecko, and of course I included some pics and a video for you guys! Ecko on his swing for the first time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SAZk_aDmQn0 Ecko getting some sun in the grass: Ecko climbing to the top:
  14. Oh no, I am sorry to hear that your grey is plucking! When did this behavior start? Has there been any drastic changes in his life?? Did you go to the vet so they can test him?? Do you have any toys in his cage?? A little more detail please.
  15. I hope everything goes ok for Sherlock! Please keep us updated.
  16. Maybe if you put the food on a paper plate at the bottom so he can't knock it over as easily. My baby doesn't knock his bowls over, he tips the bowl but not enough to knock it over. I can't put the food in the upper bowls because he is hardly ever up top.
  17. That is great news! I'm happy Merlin is doing good!
  18. Oh dear, no need to get offended by Baxtersmom, she was just asking and trying to help YOU! You wanted some advice right? You need to be patient with you grey and not rush him! Just keep repeating things. Some talk and some don't, so don't get mad if he chooses not to talk.
  19. Wow Ziva is such a smarty pants! How lucky you are to have such a smart grey! Thanks for sharing, hopefully we can see Ziva on video having a convo with you one day
  20. That would be horrible!! It better not pass!
  21. Hello kraut4me and welcome to the forum! I am sorry to hear that your grey lost trust in you. It sounds like he was hurt and he blames it on you. It may take a while for him to build trust again. I would just give him some space, stay away from him and don't bother him until he wants you to. You are probally going to have to go at a slow pace but eventually he should trust you again. Please keep us posted on how everything goes! And if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask!
  22. Thanks guys and yes they cook great! I used them twice already with no problems! Dave said he got them today and they were on sale for $50! Wow that is cheap! I can't believe they went down $25 in one day!
