Hello dberes and welcome to the forum! That is so nice of you to rehome an older grey. Thats great the she bonded with you so well, some people aren't that lucky. If Gracie didn't like her previous owners wife for all of those 16 years then I don't think your wife is going to have any luck. Maybe something bad happened to her and she doesn't trust women anymore. The best thing you can do is give her her space around your wife and don't force her to like your wife. Some greys are just one person birds. So does Gracie talk? or make any cool sounds? Anyways, I wish you the best of luck with Gracie and please keep us updated on her progress. If you have any pictures of her we would love to see.

Hello Sarah and welcome to the forum! That is so nice of you to rehome Jack, he is so lucky to have found you! I'm sorry to hear that he is plucking. Do you have any foraging toys in his cage so he can keep his beak busy? If his claws are getting long and sharp you should take him to an Avian vet so they could trim them for you. Anyways just wanted to welcome you to the forum. I look forward to hearing more about you and Jack and hopefully seeing some pictures of him too.

Hello Ame and welcome to the forum! I'm sorry to hear that your roommates taught Monty some bad words. The best thing you can do is ignore him when he says it. Don't laugh at him, yell at him or anything like that. Eventually he should stop saying it if he doesn't hear those words anymore. Tell your roommates to leave him alone and don't teach him that stuff. Good luck on that.

I think his weight is pretty good. You said he is gaining about 10-20 grams a day so thats good to hear. My baby is 9 weeks old and he weighed 486 grams yesterday. How many times a day are you feeding him? and what kind of formula are you using? I also have never heard of the disinfectant your using. I am using anti-bacterial soap and hot water to clean my syringes. So wheres the pic of him? We would love to see your little guy (or girl).

Ecko sleeps on the perch too! He has been doing this for 5 days now. He sleeps with one foot up and he is 9 weeks so I guess around this age is when they start to lift up their foot. Maybe Shady doesn't want to yet. lol
