  1. Thanks everyone! Here is the video of him flying! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oqrLBFsslIE
  2. Yes Ecko is very quiet. He only makes this one noise and its like a "oooh" and he makes it when he gets excited. Like when we wake up in the morning and he hears us he starts making that noise or when we come home.
  3. Well we just got the DNA results in and its a GIRL!! Her name is Mango, I think she decided on that name. lol
  4. Ecko has never biten me either but he is only a baby so I don't expect him to. I am hoping I can make him stay this way lol. I will continue to love him and be gentle with him so he doesn't want to bite me. My senegal parrot on the other hand is a different story. She bit me so hard that it drew blood. And this was a kind of bite where she latched onto my finger and didn't let go. I had to shake her off. It was the worst bite I got from a bird ever and I was scared of her for a while. Now she loves me and will only let me touch her. My mom can't even go near her anymore and she was the one who raised her. This is her puff up stance and when she is about to bite. I know when to stay away from her now. haha <br><br>Post edited by: caitb2007, at: 2009/05/04 22:02
  5. Awww thats good he finally went! Thanks for updating us. Do you have a pic of this sweet baby?! I love kittens and I would love to see.
  6. Awww what a precious picture of Spock. He sounds like such a character! My Ecko does the same thing but towards a ball with a bell in it, when he hears the bell he runs after the ball and lifts his wings and growls at it  It is too funny! It sounds like you guys are having so much fun with your baby.
  7. I caught some cool pics of Ecko flying the other day. He is 13 weeks old today. He is so good at it and I just love watching him. I am making a video of him flying too but I will post it later because I'm still not done. I couldn't figure out the setting on my camera on these. And then I finally figured the setting out, this is my favorite picture! He was landing on my hand lol. Going to land on his daddy. Such a happy boy. B) :woohoo:  :silly:<br><br>Post edited by: caitb2007, at: 2009/05/04 20:53
  8. Very nice cage for your baby! Popeye is going to love all of those toys.
  9. Congrats on getting a baby grey Annmarie! You are going to have soo much fun. He is so precious in the pictures. I know how its feels when you have to wait forever for your baby but it is so worth it in the end. I can't wait to here more about this new baby and watch as he gets bigger. Thanks for sharing with us.
  10. Yes I would also drop a feeding. I don't think it really matters what feeding it is, if he'd rather eat the formula in the morning and afternoon then that should be ok. Thats good that he is starting to eat his pellets more. Are you offering him fruits and veggies too? Has your baby started fledging? Ecko is 13 weeks today and he has been on 1 feeding for a week, he would rather have the night time feeding so I guess every grey is different lol. During the day he is pretty good at eating his veggies and pellets. He is gaining weight very slowly but its ok as long as he isn't losing any. Just keep track of your babies weight, its the best way to tell if they are weaning.
  11. Aww thats so good that Lily is doing better!
  12. Here is a link that could also help. Pat pretty much summed it all up. http://www.greyforums.net/forums/the-photography-room/45269-how-to-post-pictures.html
  13. Aww how precious is that pic of your son holding the macaw like that! So cute! Thanks for sharing.
  14. Awww the baby is still young and needs his mommy! Are you bottle feeding him or is he eating solid foods?? Did the people you adopted him from tell you if he is going on his own? I know it may sound nasty but the kitty might need you to help him go. You have to get a wet rag and rub its bottom so he can release. You may not even need to do that, he might just be getting use to his surroundings. If he doesn't go by tomorrow then you will need to help him.<br><br>Post edited by: caitb2007, at: 2009/05/04 18:16
  15. Ecko's feathers look exactly like that when they are wet!
  16. What a neat playstand! I bet your baby loves it. Thanks for sharing.
  17. Yes it is common. Its called red factor. Here is a thread that has some pics of other red factor greys. http://www.greyforums.net/forums/limitstart/40/african-grey/10428-red-factor-greys.html
  18. OMG! That is soooo cool! What an amazing video!
  19. Great pictures!! It looks like Zico has some red factor, how cool! You cat, dog, fish, lizard are so cool. Thanks so much for sharing them.
  20. Haha Dave and Acapella crack me up! Ecko landed on my head a couple of times but not a lot. He likes to land on his playstand which is a good thing for me. I hope it works out for you Pat, I bet you are so sore.
  21. Thats great Cindy! I hope Chimay likes it. It is so much fun to bring Ecko outside in his harness. He loves it and I bet Chimay is going to too. Just keep working with him and pretty soon you'll have it on him.
  22. It says it at the bottom. May 31st, midnight est.
  23. This is a great thread with so many good points going both ways! My boyfriend and I have decided that we don't want to clip Ecko's wings. We are harness training him and he is doing very good with it. We put him in the harness everyday, at least twice, because he goes to my moms house with me a lot. My whole family keeps telling me that I need to clip his wings, I try to convince them that clipping is not the right thing to do to a bird. But now that this post is here I think I am going to have them read it because it talks about every reason why I don't want him clipped. I really enjoy watching him fly and I know he does too. He gets so excited when he has landed, its like he is proud of himself.
  24. Hello notjanet and welcome to the forum!
