Yes very good stuff, I love it! I noticed Ecko's feathers change too.

Thanks for the heads up Maggie and Jay. I haven't gotten any baby carrots and now I'm glad I didn't. That is scary and very risky for our precious babies. Karma for you.

YAY for Ahjari!! Now the trouble begins! Ever since Ecko learned how to fly he feels like he runs things haha. His favorite spot to fly to is on top of the fridge. I move him back to his perch everytime and as soon as I turn my head he is flying back up there. He is such a devil

Happy hatch day Jasper!!! Wow JAnet that cake looks amazing. I'm hungry for sweets now.

That is great that you found a way to make him eat pellets. Hopefully he doesn't figure out that you tricked him LOL.

Hi NuNu, I agree with Judy! You should buy her her own wood to chew and maybe she will leave your furniture alone. Also try getting a big wicker basket for her to chew, my bird loves to chew up his wicker basket. It keeps him occupied on that for hours. Maybe you bird will like them too. Good luck!

You are doing a great job Hannah. Don't worry if he isn't rejecting the formula yet. He is still young and every grey goes at a different pace. Just keeping offering him the foods and pretty soon he will start to eat them. What about pictures?? I wana see how big he got.

I also use to be one of those stupid teenagers trying to be cool and started smoking. I was 14 years old when I started and of course I thought it was the trend. I have really bad asthma and it finally caught up to me. One day I had an asthma attack and couldn't breathe at all, had to go to the hospital and everything. The worst feeling in the world is not being able to breathe and after that I quit cold turkey. I was 17 years old when that happened and its been 3 years since I last smoked a cigarette and I feel better than ever. I guess something bad like that had to happened to make me realize how bad they truly are. I am truly blessed that happened to me. I can't stand the smell of them anymore and can't believe I was that stupid! I wish everyone the best of luck out there trying to quit!<br><br>Post edited by: caitb2007, at: 2009/05/12 18:56

Hi Christina, thanks for your interests! Yes she is doing a lot better and she is starting to show her cute little personality. She steps up to my mom and I now very good without screaming or running away but when we go to pet her she screams. I'm thinking her pin feathers still hurt her. She is still a little scared like when she is perching on my finger and she sees something move she flinches and looks around really fast. She loves to play with her toys and she loves to chirp. She chirps and whistles more than my 14 week old grey does. She is still on 3 feedings a day and will not touch the pellets or fruits and veggies we offer her. I don't know why, she won't even taste it. She sure likes her formula though and it seems like she is going to be on it forever. Any suggestions are appreciated to get her to start eating pellets.

I looked up a mockingbird and a bunting bird on google. Here is a mockingbird: http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.centralpets.com/critter_images/birds/songbirds/SBD_0005911_20030806110455.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.centralpets.com/animals/birds/songbirds/sbd5911.html&usg=__BkAx7Ivg09PCtNjcgEHeK7OzO40=&h=200&w=200&sz=10&hl=en&start=6&um=1&tbnid=_g-U49nPI2qRSM:&tbnh=104&tbnw=104&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dbaby%2Bmockingbird%26hl%3Den%26rlz%3D1T5GGLL_enUS281US283%26sa%3DX%26um%3D1 And here is a bunting bird: http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.thewesternisles.co.uk/Assets/Images/rarebirds/bird-sightings-reed-bunting-c.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.thewesternisles.co.uk/birds/reed-bunting-2.htm&usg=__slapXvueCjlUWK3pqRtaq4DiQtg=&h=400&w=375&sz=36&hl=en&start=13&um=1&tbnid=ulq9cdsQQJ2dpM:&tbnh=124&tbnw=116&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dbunting%2Bbird%26hl%3Den%26rlz%3D1T5GGLL_enUS281US283%26um%3D The bunting birds have smaller beaks so I think it might be a mockingbird.

Awwww Murphy is sooo adorable! I really want a TAG now. :cheer: Yes that is normal that he tries to feed with your hand, he is still a baby. Your fingers give him a trigger so he can "pump." They will do it even if they aren't hungry. Ecko does this all the time. Good luck with your little baby!
-
Awww what a little cutie she is! She sounds like such a smartie pants. That is great that she is talking, I bet it is so exciting. Thanks for sharing.
-
Thats great! How is he doing? Post some pics puhh-leezzz

So one of the neighborhood kids found a little baby bird in the middle on the road about a week ago. And of course she came running to my mom and showed her where it was. My mom looked everywhere for a nest but she couldn't find one so she took the bird and put it in a cage and started feeding it soft pellets soaked in water and meal worms. This little baby is a PIG! I know its mother couldn't feed it as much as we do. I swear every couple of hours it screeches for more food and he gets down 4 to 5 pellets. It has gotten so big in the last week and we still can't figure out what kind of bird it is. We live in South Florida and we think it might be a mocking bird but we still aren't sure. What do you guys think it is? Once it gets big enough we will be letting it go in our backyard. I bet it will be a nice little birdy and will visit us again.<br><br>Post edited by: caitb2007, at: 2009/05/11 16:58
