My parrots do not like the floor. They are all flighted and if for some reason they are on the floor they immediate fly upward. As for the toe biting. How about painting your toe nails. Some greys do not like certain colors. Perhaps bright red toenails? Frankly, if one of my greys were biting my toes, they would not get the chance to bite them. I would be wearing socks or slippers or just shaking him/her off when coming near my feet. Unfortunately there is no easy cure. Good luck with your foot fetish grey.

Great update on Emmy and Dutch. I had a hard time getting my three to like vegetables until I got a Proctor Silex Food Chopper and starting fine chopping their veggies. They seem to like finely chopped veggies. Dutch sounds like my re-homed zon, Louie whom I have had since he was 1 1/2. He is now almost 5. We are still working on trust. Louie will follow me around and go in and out of his cage as I ask, perhaps it is all I can ask. I love he too pieces and he is the favorite of my family, go figure!

I have a Blue Front zon who was 1 ½ years old when I got him and spoke Hindu and English. He learns new words when he likes what I am saying. He does not say "Hello" or "I love you" which my greys say. But says, "Come here Louie" "Thank you" and other phrases he likes for some reason. If the words/phrases don't have a meaning for your zon, why would he want to say them? Normally he must be able to associate sounds/words with something he likes or gets a reaction. Relax and just talk to your zon, he will talk when he is ready.

Very nice picture! My three love the water too. They climb high and spread their wings and Ana Grey will turn. They love the water so much!
