Sorry, Jaguar about your plasma screen! I have had my Ana Grey for 7 months and she is out of her cage all day until 9:00 pm. Believe it or not she has not chewed on anything other than her own things!!!!! Knock on wood!!! But this is a great thread!!!
In your place, since your brother loves these two fids I would leave them with him. He should care for them solely and you can check on him weekly to see how he is doing. You should give him a trial for say 3 months to see if he really wants to care for the birds and if not, you should re-home them if you cannot care for them at that time (perhaps by then your mom will have softened). Unless he agrees to return them to you, I believe you should leave them with your brother forever if he is a good caregiver. You can't just change your mind when it is convenient for you. What would you do if he hadn't agreed to care for them in the first place? I know this is a tough decision and you love our fids. Good luck on whatever you decide.

Houdini was the name I was going to give me grey if it was a male. I laugh about Buddy because Sully, my Eclectus, will crawl out the food bowl door if I forget to close it when I get his breakfast. As big as he is he can squiggle and turn and get out. Ana Grey has learned to do that from him which I totally don't like to see as she is much more likely to get in trouble.
Hiknj41, welcome to the family. If you have any pictures of your TAG and CAG we would love to see them. What are your greys' names? If you have any pictures, we would love to see them.
Ana Grey is almost 11 months old, but she was clipped before I purchased her by her breeder. I think she is growing in some new feathers so hopefully when she molts her clipped flight feathers, she will fly!!!!
You start to get thinner and thinner and smaller and smaller and although you try to eat more you continue to shrink in size and stature until you are invisible to everyone.
I wish we could restart a day and change it if we wanted.
Ana Grey has always set her own sleep schedule. At 9:00 pm she is in her cage and on her sleeping perch ready for bed. I have never covered her cage and I have no idea what time she gets up as I am a night person and she gets up before me. She is quiet in the mornings and snacks on her pellets and dried vegetables until I get up to make her breakfast. I hear her playing and moving around in her cage sometimes when I am still in bed. Sully my Eclectus honks like a goose when he wants the lights off and he is also a very quiet morning bird. Interesting post TinyTimneh.
Hi Jennifer, what a great introduction! Can't wait to hear more about your baby CAG and see some pictures if you have any to share! Welcome to the family!!
rac3r is there anyway he could have gotten something caught in his throat. Have you checked his toys to see if they are all intact or anything else he could have gotten into? If you could get him to the vet sooner it could easy your mind. I hope he is all right.
Hi snick1899, to me when you name a person after someone it is in honor of that person. I believe it would be the same with your baby grey. So I would name your baby grey Kasuku if that is what you want to do. Now you should introduce yourself in the Welcome/Introduction Room as you are now a member of the family. We would love to hear more about you and your new baby grey. If you have any pictures, we would love to see them. Welcome to the family!!!
Whisper certainly is a smart grey with his long list of words and phrases. It will be interesting to hear what others think. Congratulations on your sweet Whisper being such a smarty pants!!!
