Well congratulations to Cleo!!!!! You have a very smart little lady there Azzie! Isn't it just so exciting when they start to talk!!!! Please keep us posted on Cleo's progress!
Hi Chelsea, congratulations on you're becoming a grey parront. Will you be having your fid DNA tested and have you decided on any names for your baby? I hope you are close enough to your sweet grey to visit often. If you are, we would love to see some pictures if you get a chance to take any. Can't wait to hear more about your new baby, welcome to the family!
I hope all your tests come out with the very better results for you. It's okay to sound off if you want, that's what families are for. Fingers crossed that all goes very well for you. Take care.
Great pictures of your flock, Jennifer and I got a great laugh out of your intros to each picture. You should be very proud of your fine fids. Each one of them is quite beautiful. Thanks for sharing them with us!
Wow Pat, that is a great playstand. With a few more toys Jeepers has got to love it!! Good luck with your ideas to help Jeepers give up his cage dependency. Your instincts about your fids have always been good, o I would say go for it. You know your companions so well and you always do the right things for all of them!
Hi maggiemoo, Karma to you for taking in an older grey. What is his name? What happens if you talk softly as you approach the cage? You do need to clean the cage and give him food so how does your grey react then? You have taken on an enormous challenge but I sense that you have the patience and love to give your sweet grey a wonderful home. I look forwarding to hearing more about your new charge. Welcome to the family.

Post edited by: luvparrots, at: 2009/06/23 19:39
DollyParrot, congratulations on your new grey. When I re-homed my Eclectus he would shriek to high heaven. I would just talk softly to him for a few minutes or if I was in a different room, I would sing. He would stop to listen to me and it soon stopped. I believe sometimes they just need to be acknowledged. This worked for me perhaps it will help you. It takes a little while for our fids to settle in and learn to trust us so just be patient and I know you will be rewarded a thousand fold. Welcome to the family.
Azzie, I think you got a good start on Cleo taking showers. You said she did tolerate being under the spray for a while so I would take that as a good sign. I believe once she thinks about it and is exposed to it more she will love it. Have patience, it's for her own good!
Karma to you Matt for taking in an older grey. It sounds like Dafney came from a loving family into your loving family. Can't wait to see some pictures of Dafney. Welcome to the family!
Thanks Pat and Sheila, Sully is sure worth the time. I feel I am the lucky one, I was in the right place at the right time to find this sweet Eclectus who just wants some peace and quiet to live in. When I come into the room and hear him say hi or laugh, it makes me smile.
