  1. First cup of coffee and a good laugh. Great start for the day!
  2. Thanks Dee, but I have spoken to the man and woman who have the amazon. They are breeders and breed many different parrots. He is outside and is not handled at all. Evaluating my present parrots, Ana Grey the queen, Sterling Gris, the big lug scarey cat, and Louie, the mature and protective male zon, I realize that my spoiled flock would not want another mature male zon in the mix. Two mature male zons without mates might be more than this old lady can handle. Frankly the present owner agrees. This is a breeder now not a pet and my present flock are definitely spoiled pets.
  3. Cute video. I do not whisper to my parrots so No whispering here. Sterling Gris, CAG, does make his own combination of words though.
  4. I have both a Timneh and a Congo. My CAG is the talker and afraid of everyone but me. My TAG is the fearless one but does not talk much although she use to be more of a talker before I got my CAG and ZON. I believe the way the breeder treats their young'uns has alot to do with their personalities.
  5. Tried to access site and got: " You have reached a store that has been suspended." oops!
  6. I know for a fact that greys know what sharinig is. My Ana Grey, TAG, is the boss of my flock. She comes in for some goodies and then leaves and my CAG and then my ZON come in afterward. Ana Grey is the scout.
  7. Great picture of Rosalita. Just a spring chicken in age! Looking forward to learning more.
  8. Welcome to the Grey Family! Beautiful is well...... Beautiful!
  9. I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your companion.
  10. Thanks Dave, your input is always appreciated.
  11. So glad you stopped in. We'll all be here when you decide its the right time to stick around. Thanks for the update on Megan and congrats on your little girl Aria Marie, great name. Take care and hope to see you again soon.
  12. I am very happy for Timber. Hooray! He needs a bell at the top so he can ring in his triumph.
  13. Okay, need some help. I have been watching a male pet/breeder 10 year old amazon in the newspaper. He was a pet and became a breeder and his mate died. He lives outside and has not been handled for about 5 years. What do you think, can I turn him into a pet again or should I just forget about this one.
  14. I do not try to have them poop on command. My Sterling Gris does always upon coming out of his cage fly over to the boing across from his cage and let a big one go. Always. Of which I am grateful because he is a big guy.
  15. Have already checked this site out. Very interesting!
  16. I think it was the "woo woo" he added at the end of the wolf whistle that clinched the whole thing.
  17. You know you live with a parrot when...... You have your parrots outside taking in Vitamin D and the young neighbor is mowing the lawn across the street. Your CAG gives a loud wolf whistle and the young female straightens her back and continues mowing the lawn with a new sway to her hips.... Priceless!
  18. Oh that is so sad. If you find these culprits, I volunteer to be part of the lynch mob to pester them to no end.
  19. It will be alright. Our fids are tougher than we think. You know what to do Penny. Talk to your companions and tell them what is happening. Relax and trust that they will be fine. If I were closer.......
  20. Welcome to the Grey family. We would love to see some pictures of your greys when you get a chance. They sound like very interesting greys. Can't wait to learn more.
  21. My CAG is the talker in my parrots. All the time he is talking (except if a camera is present; oh well); or singing or rooting for the California Giants. Ana Grey, TAG, talks now and then; and Louie, the ZON, speaks Hindu and English when he wants. Perhaps because Sterling Gris never shuts up the other two feel they do not need to talk????? Enjoy your grey and just relax and wait to see if he finds something he wants to talk about. Talk to him and let him know what is going on and perhaps he will decide to do the same.
  22. While Dorian is on your arm, gently move him up and down so that his wings open and close. Make sure there is something soft for him to "fly" toward just in case he jumps off. Perhaps a sofa or bed. The purpose is to get him to use his wings so the moving him gently up and down will cause his wings to open and close. A little exercising if you will. Perhaps this will help him get the idea of flying.
  23. Big grin here. Hope you will remember your excitement when Dorian start flying around the house and REALLY gets into mischief! Very happy for your Big Bird!
  24. I saw this on Facebook also. lovethatgrey, have you personally seen this facility and can you vouch for the accuracy of this information.
