  1. My brood are all waiting to go outside. The rain just won't stop. Washington is the ever green state so I guess that also means wet!!!
  2. Can't wait to see and hear how Sterling reacts to his new home. How exciting!
  3. I have three parrots. A TAG, a CAG, and a ZON. They are not friends or friendly to each other. They do not interact. I got them for me, not each other. Frankly, they could care less about each other. They do not fight and if I split them up I doubt they would miss each other. They each like to interact with me not each other.
  4. I hope you decide to take Pearl to the vet today. I would hate to have her wing become damaged beyond repair. Please let us know what you decide and what happens.
  5. My flock have cement perches and if they need a little trim I towel the bird so he/she can't see and hold them while my daughter uses nail clippers to remove the pointed tips of the nail. Quick and easy.
  6. It 15 months it is most likely this is just molting but without seeing your grey that is just an educated guess.
  7. My, my young man you have put a lot of thought into this post. Which grey are you looking at a Congo or a Timneh. I think it is smart to wait until you get settled into your job routine to really see what your schedule will be like. Each parrot/grey has its own personality. There is no way to really say rather a grey will be loud and noise or calm and mellow. I will tell you that I do know that a grey, TAG or CAG, really wants to belong to his/her flock (that would be you) as they are flock creatures. They try very hard to belong and if you talk to them and tell a grey what you want and show them, they normally do their best to oblige. If you are relaxed so will your grey be. They are very intuitive. They can fit into your schedule if you remember to include them. Good luck in finding the grey for you. Welcome to the Grey family.
  8. Looking forward to following your progress.
  9. Nilah is a busy lady. Love the zon high voice. Does anyone have a zon with a deep voice? Would love to hear a deep voiced zon if anyone has one.
  10. I do not have any pluckers not I understand Hemp seed is good for helping pluckers. I have a friend who has had some success with a 10+ years plucker who now has loads of fuzz coming in.
  11. When I transport my parrots around I make sure they have parrot food and grapes. The grapes are for moisture and to avoid water spillage in my parrot's travel cage or into my vehicle.
  12. Nice! I am so jealous of what fun your parrots will have. Louie, my BF zon, wants to know if he can come visit Nilah. Promises to bring her an apple or two. Sterling Gris, CAG, the brute, thinks both Rikki and Talon are the bomb. Of course, Ana Grey, my queen, says please take them! Looking forward to seeing some pictures of your flock out in their room.
  13. All excited! Can't wait to see the finished aviary. Have to take notes and get ideas! Pictures! Can't wait!
  14. Great pictures of your flock. Certainly looks like Alexandra is fitting in nicely. Thanks for the update and pictures. Love to see everyone's birds.
  15. Welcome to you Tracy and your boyfriend and his grey. What is the grey's name and how old is he (the grey). Details please and more information! Looking forward to getting to know all of you.
  16. I made sure I had a bill of sale from each of the breeders of my to greys and prior owner on my zon. I also have records of their micro-chips and avian vet visits. The micro-chips are also registered with HomeAgain.
  17. I am going to have mine come out the window of my birdroom. My parrots will be able to come in and go out as they like. It has loads of sun so they should be able to enjoy. Looking forward to pictures of your birdroom Talon.
  18. Can't wait to see the finished product. I hope to get a outdoor aviary done this summer. Hope hope hope!
  19. I live in Washington State so prices probably differ. I had my parrot wellness checked and microchipped. Over $100 less than $200. It was over three years ago. Things change. You would have to check with your avian vet's prices.
  20. Hi Konza. Rules. We are all here to share information and good times about our greys. That's the basics. Any problems: Talon is the Administrator of the Grey Forums and keeps us all in line. Also there are Room Moderators and a couple Super Moderators to watch over us. Looking forward to hearing more about your grey(s). Pictures are always a plus. Just be respectful and no use of bad words and swearing, etc., and, of course, enjoy! Welcome to the Grey Family!
  21. I have three parrots each has a "chipped" beak. It is usually just normal renewal of beak covering. As long as the body of the beak is in tactic, I would not worry. One question, how much does your CAG weigh?
  22. HI Max 313. Welcome to the Grey family. I have a TAG and a CAG both breeder breed and unbanded. It is not required here in Washington State. Is it in Texas? Why would you want to band your new grey. Most members believe that bands can get caught on things and have them removed. Go see the grey and see if he/she is one you would like to have as a forever friend. I always took my new parrots to an avian vet to have them "healthy" examined and micro-chipped. To me a pet being micro-chipped is the sure way to make sure your friend is returned to you if they "escape" and a sure way to identify your companion without mistake. Looking forward to going on your new adventure as a new grey companion. Enjoy.
  23. Looks like fun. If you got a chance to take some pictures, we would love to see them.
  24. Congratulations on your new grey. Looking forward to hearing more.
  25. Sorry to hear of Zoey's passing. She lived a happy life and was very much loved. God bless her sweet soul.
