1. Sudden Impact "Show Me the Money"
2. Glad to hear that your grey's vet visit was a success and that she is healthy. Can't wait to hear how things go as your fid gets more comfortable with you.
3. There you go again Jay enlarging your flock! You and Maggie are the best!!!! Can't wait to see some pictures.
4. It all depends. If you are familiar with large parrots, understand that re-homed parrots may have some baggage that has been instilled for years. If you can handle and understand these problems and deal with them then an older grey can bring joy and great accomplishment to your life. A baby grey is a clean slate and will be looking to its new flock (you) to guide it on its way. If you don't know what you are doing and haven't researched and taken that information about greys seriously, you can turn that sweet baby into a grey that needs to be re-homed and that will be carrying all that baggage that you helped provide. So do a lot of research, ask a lot of questions and mostly understand yourself enough to know if you are one of those special people who can handle and love an older grey with baggage. I take the quote in my signature block very seriously. Karma to you Raleej337 for asking this question and doing your research before getting your grey.
5. I have dried fruit and pellets in my fids' cages 24/7. The seeds/nuts I dole out during the day when they are out and on their cargo net or swinging perches. They love to forage for them and it keeps Ana Grey busy and out of trouble.
6. Now that's a picture I would have like to see!!!  Thank goodness for them that we love them so much!!!! Thanks for sharing!
7. Darius is a fantastic fid. Thanks for the new pictures!
8. Amen to what Dave is saying, listen to him. I have had an Ekkie start to lock his beak and thank goodness I was able to distract him. I shutter to think of what could have happened if Dave hadn't been around to help me. Dr. Flock certainly knows his birds and for him I am grateful!
9. Have a great trip Jack. Can't wait to see some pictures and videos. I am very jealous you know!!!! Have fun and don't forget your grey family!!!!
10. Don't feel guilty is the first thing you do. What an honor to Macey to know that your experience with her was so wonderful that you want to give another grey the opportunity to have a wonderful forever home. Seize the moment!
11. Oh my!!!! I'm not very fond of salesmen!!! Thanks for the laugh Dan!
12. Very cute video Dan. Dayo is certainly enjoying himself. I'm not sure I can bring myself to encourage Ana Grey to make a mess. But I sure enjoyed waiting Dayo doing it!!!!
13. Top Gun "Here's looking at you, kid." (1942)

Post edited by: luvparrots, at: 2009/09/22 20:53
14. Ana Grey is over a year old and always has pellets and dried vegetables in her cage. She occasionally will still bob her head when she sees me coming with breakfast. There she sits on the rim of her food bowl awaiting when she hears me coming with her breakfast bobbing away. Kind of cute.
15. Thanks for the looksy Bernie. Sold!!!! Now where is that checkbook?????? As soon as I find it, the check will be in the mail!!!!
16. It's always nice to hear about all our fids! Congratulations on Argyle coming around!

Post edited by: luvparrots, at: 2009/09/21 20:52
17. So very sorry about George, Robin. It is always so heartbreaking when a companion is unexpectedly lost.
18. Congratulations on bringing home Tequila Blue. Can't wait to see the pictures!
19. You have the patience of a saint Tracie. Glad to hear Lilo is settling in. I think you have his "number" well in hand. Thanks for the update. I look forward to hearing more about your little rebel and his taming.
20. Jen have you read the book "The Parrot Who Owns Me" written by Joanna Burger. It is a story of the relationship between a well-known ornithologist and her parrot Tiko. You would probably enjoy it and it might answer some of your questions as Tiko "courted" her during mating season.
21. What a cute kitten. I had a charcoal kitty once. Shadow was a real tiger!
22. I am going through this with my Ekkie right now and believe me I have no intention of "encouraging" him. The first time he dropped his head onto my arm and ran his tongue over my arm and firmly locked his 2" beak onto my arm he truly scared me. I don't believe encouraging him will help. I am not a female Ekkie and any interacting with me will only frustrate him more.
23. Thanks for the new video of Blue. I just love him!
24. Very cute video Hannah! I love the way Juji hangs from your hand and loves to turn upside down. You are much braver than me, I would never trust my sweet Ana Grey that close to my face. Thanks for sharing your precious baby with us!
25. So sorry things didn't work out for Lilo at Judy's home but Tracie it sounds like you have things well in hand now. It is always sad when our greys/fids have to be clipped even if it is only to make adjustment easier for them. We can only do the best we can for each situation. Hopefully Lilo will be able to be fully flighted very soon. Karma to you Tracie for taking in this little ornery grey who definitely has a mind of his own! Please keep us posted on how Lilo is doing. Can't wait to see pictures of Lilo in his new forever home.
